Abstract We propose and demonstrate a compressive temporal imaging system based on pulsed illumination to encode temporal dynamics into the signal received by the imaging sensor during exposure time. Our approach enables >10x increase in effective frame rate without increasing camera complexity. To mitigate the complexity of the inverse problem during reconstruction, we introduce two keyframes: one before and one after the coded frame. We also craft what we believe to be a novel deep learning architecture for improved reconstruction of the high-speed scenes, combining specialized convolutional and transformer architectures. Simulation and experimental results clearly demonstrate the reconstruction of high-quality, high-speed videos from the compressed data.

Abstract Objective: The aims were (i) to assess the effects of a 12-week resistance training program on between-arms volume difference and shoulder-arm disabilities in breast cancer survivors and (ii) to evaluate whether the main risk factors for developing cancer-related lymphedema and shoulder-arm disabilities were associated with the effects of the training program.
    Design: Randomized controlled trial.
    Setting: University facilities.
Participants: 60 female breast cancer survivors participated.
Eligibility criteria: to be a breast cancer survivor, and to have completed surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiotherapy up to 10 years before recruitment.
Exclusion criteria: metastatic breast cancer, a breast reconstruction intervention planned within 6 months, any absolute contraindication for exercise, to perform more than 300 minutes/week of structured exercise.
Interventions: Participants were randomized to an exercise group (12-week resistance training program) or a control group.
Main outcome measures: Between-arms volume difference, shoulder-arm disabilities, and upper-limb muscular strength were evaluated at baseline and at week 12. Treatment-related information was registered from medical history.
Results: No between-group differences were observed on between-arms volume difference (1.207; 95% CI -0.964, 3.377; P=.270) or shoulder-arm disabilities (2.070; 95% CI -4.362, 8.501; P=.521) after the training program. Likewise, there was no association of surgery type, presence of lymph node resection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy with the changes in between-arms volume and perceived shoulder-arm disabilities after the intervention. However, a higher increase in upper limb muscular strength was associated with a reduced shoulder-arm disabilities (-0.429; P=.020) in the exercise group.
Conclusions: The findings suggest that resistance training does not affect between-arms volume difference and shoulder-arm disabilities in female breast cancer survivors. The main risk factors for developing lymphedema were not associated with the effects of the intervention, although a higher increase in upper-limb muscular strength was associated with reduced shoulder-arm disabilities.

Abstract Background: Thyroid metastases are extremely rare, with an incidence of 1-3% according to different data. Colon cancer is the second most common tumor that metastasizes to this organ.
Case report: We report a case of a long-standing colon cancer with an atypical metastatic pattern and the appearance of a thyroid metastases. In addition, we highlight the importance of multidisciplinary management of this pathology and the emerging need to establish next generation sequencing panels for better molecular characterization.

Abstract Retinal thickness may serve as a biomarker in Parkinson's disease (PD). In this prospective longitudinal study, we aimed to determine if PD patients present accelerated thinning rate in the parafoveal ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (pfGCIPL) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) compared to controls. Additionally, we evaluated the relationship between retinal neurodegeneration and clinical progression in PD. A cohort of 156 PD patients and 72 controls underwent retinal optical coherence tomography, visual, and cognitive assessments between February 2015 and December 2021 in two Spanish tertiary hospitals. The pfGCIPL thinning rate was twice as high in PD (β [SE] = -0.58 [0.06]) than in controls (β [SE] = -0.29 [0.06], p < 0.001). In PD, the progression pattern of pfGCIPL atrophy depended on baseline thickness, with slower thinning rates observed in PD patients with pfGCIPL below 89.8 µm. This result was validated with an external dataset from Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (AlzEye study). Slow pfGCIPL progressors, characterized by older at baseline, longer disease duration, and worse cognitive and disease stage scores, showed a threefold increase in the rate of cognitive decline (β [SE] = -0.45 [0.19] points/year, p = 0.021) compared to faster progressors. Furthermore, temporal sector pRNFL thinning was accelerated in PD (β

Abstract A blood-based screening method was developed to facilitate ante-mortem screening of dairy cattle suspected of containing elevated concentrations of perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in their muscle tissue. The collection and subsequent laboratory analyses of 28 paired blood plasma and muscle samples from PFOS-exposed dairy cattle provided the PFOS plasma and muscle data to develop a model to estimate muscle PFOS concentrations based on plasma PFOS concentrations. The blood-based ante-mortem screening approach could be applied to predict whether beef (skeletal bovine muscle) from suspect cattle populations (or sub-populations) exceeds a particular level of concern. The data analyses indicated that the relationship between muscle and plasma PFOS concentrations differed by the class of dairy cattle (heifer, lactating, and dry) and the duration of removal (withdrawal time) from exposure to PFOS. A plasma depletion model also was developed to evaluate the estimated withdrawal time required to reduce PFOS in dairy cattle muscle to below an identified level of concern. The model indicated complex PFOS plasma depletion dynamics with a non-constant rate of depletion. The required withdrawal time also depends on the initial concentration distribution (which differed between heifers and lactating/dry cows) and the identified level of concern.
