Abstract ConspectusCarbohydrates are called the third chain of life. Carbohydrates participate in many important biochemical functions in living species, and the biological information carried by them is several orders of magnitude larger than that of nucleic acids and proteins. However, due to the intrinsic complexity and heterogeneity of carbohydrate structures, furnishing pure and structurally well-defined glycans for functional studies is a formidable task, especially for homogeneous large-size glycans. To address this issue, we have developed a donor preactivation-based one-pot glycosylation strategy enabling multiple sequential glycosylations in a single reaction vessel. The donor preactivation-based one-pot glycosylation refers to the strategy in which the glycosyl donor is activated in the absence of a glycosyl acceptor to generate a reactive intermediate. Subsequently, the glycosyl acceptor with the same anomeric leaving group is added, leading to a glycosyl coupling reaction, which is then iterated to rapidly achieve the desired glycan in the same reactor. The advantages of this strategy include the following: (1) unique chemoselectivity is obtained after preactivation; (2) it is independent of the reactivity of glycosyl donors; (3) multiple-step glycosylations are enabled without the need for intermediate purification; (4) only stoichiometric building blocks are required without complex protecting group manipulations. Using this protocol, a range of glycans including tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens, various glycosaminoglycans, complex

Abstract There has been extensive research on the biological recycling of PET waste to address the issue of plastic waste pollution, with ethylene glycol (EG) being one of the main components recovered from this process. Therefore, finding ways to convert PET monomer EG into high-value products is crucial for effective PET waste recycling. In this study, we successfully engineered

Abstract Background: Local anesthetics are commonly used in surgical procedures to control pain in patients. Whilst the cardiotoxicity and neurotoxicity of local anesthetics have received much attention, the cytotoxicity they exert against bone, joint, and muscle tissues has yet to be well recognized.
Objective: This review aimed to raise awareness regarding how local anesthetics may cause tissue damage and provide a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of local anesthetic-induced cytotoxicity. We summarized the latest progress on the cytotoxicity of local anesthetics and the underlying mechanisms and discussed potential strategies to reduce it.
Findings: We found that the toxic effects of local anesthetics on bone, joint, and muscle tissues were time- and concentration-dependent in vitro. Local anesthetics induced apoptosis, necrosis, and autophagy through specific cellular pathways. Altogether, this review indicates that toxicity of local anesthetics may be avoided by rationally selecting the appropriate anesthetic, limiting the total amount, and determining the lowest effective concentration and duration.

Abstract Abstract: A 44-year-old man who presented with progressive right limb weakness was diagnosed with ischemic stroke. He was referred for 18F-DPA-714 PET/CT for evaluation of the disease. 18F-DPA-714 PET/CT showed increased uptake of the intracranial thrombus. This DPA-714-avid thrombus highly suggested the involvement of immune cells in the extension of the clot resulting in neurological deterioration. This present case suggested that 18F-DPA-714 PET might be a promising tracer in visualizing thromboinflammation in vivo.

Abstract The existing theory and techniques of wireless communication anti-jamming have reached their performance limit recently. With this focus, by leveraging the inherent characteristics of wireless communication and referring to the principle of cyberspace endogenous security, this paper investigates the core issues of endogenous security in the electromagnetic space, namely, endogenous anti-jamming (EAJ), which can defend against unknown electromagnetic attacks effectively. Specifically, the subspace method is first adopted to establish the unified framework for the conventional spread-spectrum, intelligent, and endogenous anti-jamming, in which both the intrinsic development law of each technique and the internal logic between them are revealed. Then, the fundamental concept, key techniques, and development suggestions of wireless communication “N + 1 dimensionality” endogenous anti-jamming are proposed to seek a disruptive breakthrough.
