Abstract Quasi-bound states in the continuum (quasi-BIC) in all-dielectric metasurfaces provide a crucial platform for sensing due to its ability to enhance strong matter interactions between light-waves and analytes. In this study, a novel high-sensitivity all-dielectric sensor composed of a periodic array of silicon (Si) plates with square nanoholes in the continuous near-infrared band is theoretically proposed. By adjusting the position of the square nanohole, the symmetry-protected BIC and Friedrich-Wintgen BIC (FW-BIC) can be excited. The torodial dipole (TD) and electric quadruple (EQ) are demonstrated to play a dominating role in the resonant modes by near-field analysis and multipole decomposition. The results show that the sensitivity, the Q-factor, and the corresponding figure of merit (FOM) can simultaneously reach 399 nm/RIU (RIU is refractive index unit), 4959, and 1281, respectively. Compared with other complex nanostructures, the proposed metasurface is more feasible and practical, which may open up an avenue for the development of ultrasensitive sensors.

Abstract The Maritime Power strategy is of great and far-reaching significance for the high-quality development of China. With the development of this strategy in recent years, academics and the government have been increasingly focusing on marine and national defense issues. It is of great theoretical value and practical significance to clarify the destination images of China's marine national defense tourism and its mode of communication to enhance tourists' national identity. Using data from 15 marine national defense tourist attractions, this study analyzes the official projections and tourist perceptions of marine national defense tourism in China. Key elements were identified using social semantic network and image depth analyses. The Jaccard distance score and Stuart Hall's encoding and decoding theory were applied to explore the internal differences in projections and perceptions in different regions and propagation modes. The results are as follows: (1) China's marine national defense tourism destination images have distinct regional characteristics. The cultural and military images of the northern coastal region were more distinct than the other two regions, the maritime and educational significance of the eastern coastal region was more prominent than the other two regions, and the historical and international characteristics of the southern coastal region were more significant than the other two regions. (2) The projected and perceived destination images of China's marine national defense tourism are focused on tourism. Each scenic spot emphasizes its own social and educational value, while tourists are more impressed by interactive and experiential events than by those ornamental events. 3) The dominant and consultative modes are the main dissemination modes of China's marine national defense tourism destination images, and the dominant mode is mainly embodied in national identity, which is presented through concrete cultural resources, educational activities, and so on. The negotiation model is more ...

Abstract Effective methods for automatic sleep staging are important for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. EEG has weak signal properties and complex frequency components during the transition of sleep stages. Wavelet-based adaptive spectrogram reconstruction (WASR) by seed growth is utilized to capture dominant time-frequency patterns of sleep EEG. We introduced variant energy from Teager operator in WASR to capture hidden dynamic patterns of EEG, which produced additional spectrograms. These spectrograms enabled a light weight CNN to detect and extract finer details of different sleep stages, which improved the feature representation of EEG. With specially designed depthwise separable convolution, the light weight CNN achieved more robust sleep stage classification. Experimental results on Sleep-EDF 20 dataset showed that our proposed model yielded overall accuracy of 87.6%, F1-score of 82.1%, and Cohen kappa of 0.83, which is competitive compared with baselines with reduced computation cost.

Abstract Objectives: As a common postpartum complication, postpartum depression is an important social and health problem. Postpartum depression causes many changes in relevant indicators, such as inflammatory factors and thyroid hormones. However, the effects of inflammatory factors, thyroid hormones and xanthine on postpartum depression have not yet been fully elucidated. Therefore, it is of great clinical significance to clarify the changes in the key indicators of postpartum depression.
Material and methods: A total of 139 pregnant women were included in this study. Finally, only 56 patients completed the Edinburgh Depression Scale (EPDS) evaluation and blood sample collection.
Results: In the current study, 34 (60.7%) patients were normal, 10 (17.9%) women were depressive tendency and 12 (21.4%) women developed depression. Among the serum indexes detected, the expression levels of thyroid function indexes T3, T4 and TSH, and inflammatory factors, such as hs-CRP, IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α, in the EPDS ≥ 9 group were slightly higher than those in the normal group (EPDS < 9). Xanthine levels in the depression group (EPDS ≥ 13) were significantly higher than normal group (EPDS < 9).
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that xanthine levels in patients with postpartum depression were increased significantly, but there were no significant changes in thyroid function and some inflammatory indexes. Therefore, timely detection and intervention of maternal xanthine may help reduce the incidence of postpartum depression.
