Abstract Objective: This study aims to analyze the epidemiological and clinical features of coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) in a Moroccan pediatric population.
Methods: A retrospective study of a cohort of 74 children with RT-PCR confirmed COVID-19. We collected information on clinical and laboratory features of all children (age <18 years) admitted between 2 March, 2020 and 1 April, 2020.
Results: The mean (SD) age of the 74 children (40 girls) was 7 (1.5) years. The mean (SD) time from illness onset to diagnosis was 2 (1) days. 54 children were asymptomatic, while eight had fever, and five cases had cough. Recovery was after a mean (SD) of 12 (1) days.
Conclusion: COVID-19 was mostly mild in the pediatric population in Morocco.

Abstract Only a few cases in the literature have ever reported the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus (VZV) in children especially in the case of immunocompetent patients. It is an uncommon situation that may lead to several neurological complications. We report varicella zoster virus (VZV) meningitis in a 14-year-old healthy boy with no antecedent of rash. On his cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination, VZV DNA was detected. The rapid HIV test was negative. The treatment using acyclovir (20 mg/kg/8h) was effective, and the child's clinical condition rapidly improved.

Abstract Otomastoiditis is a rare and exceptional complication of tuberculosis; its pathogenesis has been debated since its recognition as a distinct condition. The evolution and prognosis in general are modified after the end of antituberculosis treatment. In our observation, we report the case of an infant with tuberculous otomastoiditis complicated by sigmoid sinus thrombosis.

Abstract A 5-year-old girl was brought to Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes for premature breast development since 4 months. Her medical antecedents and family history were uneventful. From investigations she was diagnosed as a case of central precocious puberty. Identification of pesticides in farms surrounding their house indicates that this early stimulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis was linked to the estrogen-like activity of endocrine-disrupting compounds.

Abstract BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease (COVID 19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and is the causative agent of a serious disease that is of great global public health concern. Palsy of the third cranial nerve is very rare in patients with confirmed 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We describe the case of a patient with an incomplete palsy of the left third cranial nerve sparing the pupils in the context of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. CASE REPORT We report the case of a 24-year-old woman with confirmed COVID-19, which presented with acute onset of diplopia and strabismus of the left eye that occurred 3 days after the start of general symptoms. The patient had no significant medical history. Based on detailed ophthalmic and neurological examination, acute painless incomplete palsy of the third cranial nerve was suspected. Oculo-cerebral magnetic resonance angiography was unremarkable. Blood tests revealed mild normocytic regenerative anemia. According to the Moroccan recommendations, chloroquine and azithromycin were started. After what, a quick improvement of exotropia and diplopia was observed, and complete recovery was obtained by the sixth day of treatment. No adverse effects of the treatment were noted. CONCLUSIONS Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can cause neurological complications such as cranial nerve palsy. The pathological mechanism remains unclear. Full recovery of the ocular motricity is possible, and prognosis depends on the severity of the respiratory illness.

Title translation Antiseptics in neonatology: the inheritance of the past in the daylight.
Abstract The antiseptics are antimicrobial substances that are applied to living tissue to reduce the growth of microorganisms. The physiological particularities of newborns, and especially premature, reduce the list of used antiseptic in neonatology. The choice of antiseptic in neonates depends on its activity, its presentation and its tolerance. Using a large spectrum antiseptic like iodine and chlorhexidin seems to be the best choice; however the thyroid toxicity of iodine products contraindicates their use in the newborn. The usage of minor antiseptics like hexamidin shows no interest due to their limited spectrum and their long action delay. Using eosin for umbilical cord care is not recommended because it doesn't have any antiseptic activity and causes neonatal infections. Through this article, the authors review the principal aspects of antiseptic and report the properties and advantages-disadvantages of each antiseptic. The goal is to facilitate the choice of antiseptic used in neonatology.
