Abstract Background: Gastrointestinal tumors are a major cause of cancer-related deaths and have become a major public health problem. This study aims to provide a scientific basis for improving clinical treatment effects, quality of life, and prognosis of patients with gastrointestinal tumors.
Aim: To explore the clinical effect of the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment (MDT) nutrition intervention model on patients with gastrointestinal tumors.
Methods: This was a case control study which included patients with gastrointestinal tumors who received radiotherapy at the Department of Oncology between January 2021 and January 2023. Using a random number table, 120 patients were randomly divided into MDT and control groups with 60 patients in each group. To analyze the effect of MDT on the nutritional status and quality of life of the patients, the nutritional status and quality of life scores of the patients were measured before and after the treatment.
Results: Albumin (ALB), transferrin (TRF), hemoglobin (Hb), and total protein (TP) levels significantly decreased after the treatment. The control group had significantly lower ALB, TRF, Hb, and TP levels than the MDT group, and the differences in these levels between the two groups were statistically significant (
Conclusion: MDT nutritional intervention model effectively improves the nutritional status and quality of life of the patients. The study provides a rigorous theoretical basis for improving the prognosis of cancer patients. In the future, we intend to provide additional treatment methods for improving the quality of life of patients with cancer.

Abstract Aim: To explore the impact of the Omicron variant on maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Design: Cross-sectional cohort study of women giving live birth in a single hospital in Shanghai in December 2022.
Methods: Demographic characteristics, maternal and neonatal outcomes and laboratory testing results were retrieved from medical records. Propensity score matching was used to match COVID-19-positive and -negative women. Differential analysis was used to assess associations between COVID-19 and in-hospital maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Results: A total of 1508 women were included, comprising 729 natural births, 741 caesarean sections and 38 forceps deliveries. After 1:1 matching, 310 clients were included for analysis with each 155 in COVID-19-positive and -negative groups. Higher maternal fever was found in all modes of delivery, and higher preterm birth and lower pH value of blood gas of the umbilical artery in the vaginal delivery subgroup (p < 0.05). Other maternal and neonatal outcomes showed no significant difference between COVID-19-positive and -negative clients.

Abstract Restless legs syndrome is a movement disorder that seriously affects the quality of life of patients. It is characterized by marked discomfort mainly occurring in the deep tissues of the lower extremities, including deep muscle or bone chafing, as well as crawling sensations or pulling sensations. These sensations often cause patients to awaken after falling asleep and to feel the urge to walk around, which seriously affects their sleep quality. Patients with restless leg syndrome exhibit significantly enhanced sympathetic nerve activity and immune disorders, while stellate ganglion blockage can block sympathetic nerves and regulate immune cells and cytokines to maintain immune system homeostasis. We report three patients with restless legs syndrome complicated with severe nephrotic syndrome. After treatment with stellate ganglion block, the symptoms in the restless legs were relieved within 1 month, and the quality of sleep was significantly improved. Our findings suggest that stellate ganglion block has broad promise in the management of restless legs syndrome patients with severe comorbidities.
