Abstract C-N bond formation takes on a critical significance in reactions of organic synthesis, material production and pharmaceutical manufactory. Chan-Lam has proposed a useful methodology to furnish secondary arylamides under mild conditions. However, when chiral sulfinamides serve as the coupling precursors, the Cu-catalyzed coupling reaction is found with low efficacy. Complex side-products are generated under classic conditions. Moreover, it led to the racemization of the coupling product. In this study, an optimized Ni-catalyzed Chan-Lam type coupling conditions were proposed, which resulted in clean conversion from chiral sulfinamides and arylboronic acids to offer N-aryl sulfinamides efficiently and enantioretentively. Abstract The larvae of the deep-sea pandalid shrimp Heterocarpus fascirostratus Yang, Chan & Kumar, 2018 were successfully hatched and cultured to the third zoeal stage. The larvae reached the third zoeal stage nine days after hatching at a water temperature of 21 ± 1 °C. Although members of Heterocarpus A. Milne-Edwards, 1881 have rather diverse body forms and are often separated into many species groups, the early zoeal morphology of H. fascirostratus follows the general developmental pattern of the species in Heterocarpus. The main differences amongst these larvae are body size, spines on the anteroventral margin of the carapace, and the endopod setation of the third maxilliped.

Abstract: ... in the synthesis of N-vinyl cinnamaldehyde nitrones as only Z-isomers in good yields through the Chan-Lam reaction ...

Abstract A type of quinoxaline-derived tridentate N,N,O-ligand was synthesized in good to excellent yields over three steps through iodination of 2-aryl indoles, sequential Kornblum-type oxidation with DMSO, and capture by 1,2-diaminobenzenes. The prepared atropisomeric N,N,O-ligand was successfully applied in the synthesis of N-vinyl cinnamaldehyde nitrones as only Z-isomers in good yields through the Chan-Lam reaction. The method features an easily accessed tunable tridentate N,N,O-ligand, broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, and high Z-isomer for N-vinyl nitrones.

Abstract: An efficient protocol of Chan-Evans-Lam reactions involving arylboronic acids and azole and amine ...

Abstract An efficient protocol of Chan-Evans-Lam reactions involving arylboronic acids and azole and amine derivatives was developed based on a series of N-heterocyclic carbene copper (Cu-NHC) complexes as the precatalysts. The relationship between the catalyst structure and catalytic properties was investigated in detail. The results demonstrated that the modification of NHC backbone with acenaphthyl group exhibited significant beneficial effect on the coupling efficiencies. Nonetheless, it appeared that more bulk on the N-aryl moieties of NHC ligands impeded the reactions. The protocol also features mild reaction conditions, such as low catalyst loading (0.1–1 mol%), non-toxic solvent and air as the sole oxidant, which highlights the usefulness of Cu-NHC as the precatalyst for this reaction.

Abstract The morphology of first stage zoea larvae of three pandalid shrimps Plesionika crosnieri Chan Yu, 1991, P. ortmanni Doflein, 1902, and P. semilaevis Bate, 1888 are described for the first time from larvae obtained in laboratory culture. The zoea I is compared amongst those species of the genus Plesionika with larval morphology known. It is found that the length of the rostrum, the number of anteroventral denticles on the carapace, presence of exopodal setae in the maxillule, and setation pattern of the peduncle of antennule, endopod of antenna, and coxa/basis of maxillipeds are useful characters in distinguishing these larvae.

Abstract This study aimed to establish characteristic chromatogram and content determination method for Chan Taoren formula granules, evaluate the production processes of Chan Taoren formula granules based on the correlation of characteristic chromatogram and the transfer rate of D-amygdalin,and clarify the key control points. The optimized analytical method was carried out on a Waters CORTECS C18 column(4. 6 mm×150 mm,2. 7 μm) with acetonitrile-0. 1% phosphoric acid aqueous solution as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0. 6 m L·min-1. The detection wavelength was 207 nm,and the column temperature was 20 ℃ . As compared with the standard decoction of Chan Taoren, there were five characteristic peaks in the decoction pieces,extracts,concentrates,spray-dried powders and formula granules, basically consistent in relative retention time and peak pattern; in addition, the transfer rate of D-amygdalin from Chan Taoren pieces to the formula granules was within the transfer rate range of standard decoction. The average transfer rate of D-amygdalin was 56.65%,72.85%,94.58% and 99.29% respectively in the extraction, concentration, spray drying and granulation processes. Therefore, the factors affecting D-amygdalin in the extraction process were further studied. The results showed that D-amygdalin was easily converted to L-amygdalin in the water extraction process, leading to a low transfer rate of D-amygdalin in this process.D-amygdalin was unstable under alkaline conditions and prone to isomerization. Both liquid to solid ratio and extraction time had significant effects on the extraction rate of D-amygdalin. In this study, the key links in the production process of Chan Taoren formula granules was clarified based on the characteristic chromatogram and the quantity transmission of D-amygdalin,which provided a theoretical basis for production and quality control.
