    Abstract Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of sinew-regulating and bone-setting manipulation(SRBSM) combined with Xiaoyu Jiegu Powder ( XYJGP) in treating knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods: Sixty patients were randomly divided into treatment group (30 cases) and control group(30 cases). The treatment group was treated with SRBSM combined with XYJGP and the control group was given intermediate frequency electrotherapy and XYJGP. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC), Flexion range of motion of the knee joint, and surface electromyography(sEMG) were used to evaluate and compare the patients' knee function before and after treatment. The efficacy was observed with diagnosis and efficacy standards of TCM. Results: After treatment, compared with the same group before treatment, muscle fatigue and muscle tension decreased, pain was reduced, range of motion of the knee joint was increased, and motor function was improved (P<0.05). The improvement degree of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.6% (29/30), higher than that of the control group (80.0%), P<0.05. Conclusion: SRBSM combined with XYJGP can effectively reduce the pain of KOA patients, improve the range of motion of the joints, and improve the quality of life of the patients, and its curative effect is better than that of intermediate frequency electrotherapy combined with XYJGP.

    Abstract The recent discovery that TMEM106B serves as a receptor mediating ACE2-independent SARS-CoV-2 entry into cells deserves attention, especially in the background of the frequent emergence of mutant strains. Here, the structure-dynamic features of this novel pathway are dissected deeply. Our investigation revealed that the large loop (RBD@471-491) could anchor TMEM106B, which was then firmly locked by another loop (RBD@444-451). The novel and widely disseminated Omicron variants (BA.2.86/EG.5.1) affect the anchoring recognition of proteins, with BA.2.86 being more likely to impact cells with limited or undetectable ACE2 expression. The large loop of the EG.5.1 variant captures TMEM106B poorly due to impaired electrostatic complementarity. Furthermore, we emphasize that antibody design against these two loops could enhance the protection of ACE2 low-expressing cells according to the alanine scanning mutagenesis of multiple antibodies. We hope this study will provide a novel perspective for the prevention and treatment against this new viral invasion pathway.

    Abstract By conducting discourse analysis on quotidian expressions of nationalism of Chinese netizens and analyzing their "Liking" behavior, this article tries to inductively explore during the COVID-19 pandemic what and how Chinese netizens say about nationalism. This article finds that during the pandemic, Chinese netizens show a confident and rational but confrontational and xenophobic posture in their quotidian discourses. They value reasoning and deliberation in their expressions of nationalist discourses. In the quotidian discourses, they maintain a confident tone when comparing China's performance with other countries during the pandemic, but show vigilance and even hostile sentiments toward external provocations.
