Abstract Insufficient oxygen supply at the tumor site and hypoxia caused during tumor treatment lead to a poor therapeutic effect and poor prognosis. Therefore, effectively overcoming the problem of hypoxia in tumors and avoiding hypoxia that compromises the efficacy of the treatment could improve the anti-tumor therapeutic effect. Thus, this study reports the ability of W

Abstract Two-dimensional transition metal nitrides offer intriguing possibilities for achieving novel electronic and mechanical functionality owing to their distinctive and tunable bonding characteristics compared to other 2D materials. We demonstrate here the enabling effects of strong bonding on the morphology and functionality of 2D tungsten nitrides. The employed bottom-up synthesis experienced a unique substrate stabilization effect beyond van-der-Waals epitaxy that favored W

Abstract Ni-Co-W is an alloy with excellent overall performance and wide application prospects. Electrochemical deposition of Ni-Co-W alloys is currently the most promising process for replacing hexavalent chromium plating. Variations in the W content of the Ni-Co-W coating significantly affect its surface morphology, internal structure, and mechanical properties. Considering the numerous defects with conventional electrochemical deposition, a laser was introduced to enhance the quality and rate of deposition. Using a multienergy composite field, the deposition technique enhanced various properties at room temperature. Ni-Co-W alloy coatings were fabricated through electrochemical deposition and laser electrochemical deposition using electrolytes containing Na

Abstract Tungsten carbides, featured by their Pt-like electronic structure, have long been advocated as potential replacements for the benchmark Pt-group catalysts in hydrogen evolution reaction. However, tungsten-carbide catalysts usually exhibit poor alkaline HER performance because of the sluggish hydrogen desorption behavior and possible corrosion problem of tungsten atoms by the produced hydroxyl intermediates. Herein, we report the synthesis of tungsten atomic clusters anchored on P-doped carbon materials via a thermal-migration strategy using tungsten single atoms as the parent material, which is evidenced to have the most favorable Pt-like electronic structure by in-situ variable-temperature near ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. Accordingly, tungsten atomic clusters show markedly enhanced alkaline HER activity with an ultralow overpotential of 53 mV at 10 mA/cm

Abstract Based on 4.4  fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the pure W-boson-exchange decay Λ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{0}K^{+} is studied with a full angular analysis. The corresponding decay asymmetry is measured for the first time to be α_{Ξ^{0}K^{+}}=0.01±0.16(stat)±0.03(syst). This result reflects the noninterference effect between the S- and P-wave amplitudes. The phase shift between S- and P-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are δ_{p}-δ_{s}=-1.55±0.25(stat)±0.05(syst)  rad or 1.59±0.25(stat)±0.05(syst)  rad.

Abstract A multicopper oxidase Lac-W from Weizmannia coagulans 36D1 was identified and characterized as a laccase (Lac-W) with a robust enzymatic activity, which was used in various mycotoxins degradation. We demonstrated that Lac-W could directly degrade six major mycotoxins in the absence of redox mediators in pH 9.0, 24h static incubation at room temperature, including aflatoxin B

Abstract Oil-in-water-in-oil (O/W/O) double emulsions are considered an advanced oil-structuring technology that can accomplish multi-functions to improve food quality and nutrition. However, this special structure is thermodynamically unstable. This study formulated a model O/W/O double emulsion with standard surfactants, Tween 80 (4 %) and polyglycerol polyricinoleate (PGPR, 5 %), using a traditional two-step method with different homogenization parameters. Cryo-SEM and GC-FID results show that O/W/O emulsions were successfully formulated, and the release rate (RR) of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) oil from the inner oil to the outer oil phase increased significantly with 2
