Abstract Introduction: Hair transplantation surgery requires the efficient completion of hair follicles and thus appropriate hair implantation needles. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of self-made hair implantation needles using injection needles and evaluate the speed of different hair implantation methods.
Methods: Four patients were randomly assigned to four groups. A gem knife pre-punching planting method was used for the patient in Group A, while Group B received immediate implantation after punching with ordinary injection needles, Group C was treated with synchronized punching and planting using hair implanters, and Group D was treated with a self-made hair implantation needle. The speed of the different implantation methods for single and double hair follicles and the differences between the planting of single and double hair follicles were assessed.
Results: Group D was found to have the fastest hair planting speed for both single and double hair follicles, followed by Groups C and A, with the slowest speed observed in Group B. Groups A and B were associated with significantly lower speeds of double hair planting than single hair planting, There was no significant difference between Groups C and D.
Conclusions: The self-made hair implantation needle is a novel and efficient tool for synchronized punching and planting. It has a faster planting speed and does not require assistance.

Abstract Accurate carbon price projections can serve as valuable investment guides and risk warnings for carbon trading participants. However, the escalation of uncertain factors has brought numerous new hurdles to existing carbon price forecast methods. In this paper, we develop a novel probabilistic forecast model called quantile temporal convolutional network (QTCN) that can precisely describe the uncertain fluctuation of carbon prices. We also investigate the impact of external factors on carbon market prices, including energy prices, economic status, international carbon markets, environmental conditions, public concerns, and especially uncertain factors. Taking China's Hubei carbon emissions exchange as a study case, we verify that our QTCN outperforms other classical benchmark models in terms of prediction errors and actual trading returns. Our findings suggest that coal prices and EU carbon prices have the most significant effect on Hubei carbon price forecasting, while air quality index appears to be the least important. Besides, we demonstrate the great contribution of geopolitical risk and economic policy uncertainty to carbon price projections. The effect of these uncertainties is more pronounced when the carbon price is at a high quantile level. This research can offer valuable guidelines for carbon market risk management and provide new insight into carbon price formation mechanisms in the era of global conflict.

Abstract Intestinal adhesion is one of the complications that occurs more frequently after abdominal surgery. Postsurgical intestinal adhesion (PIA) can lead to a series of health problems, including abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, and female infertility. Currently, hydrogels and nanofibrous films as barriers are often used for preventing PIA formation; however, these kinds of materials have their intrinsic disadvantages. Herein, we developed a dual-structure drug delivery patch consisting of poly lactic-

Abstract Purpose: The most common and potentially fatal side effect of thoracic radiation therapy is radiation pneumonitis (RP). Due to the lack of effective treatments, predicting radiation pneumonitis is crucial. This study aimed to develop a dynamic nomogram to accurately predict symptomatic pneumonitis (RP ≥ 2) following thoracic radiotherapy for lung cancer patients.
Methods: Data from patients with pathologically diagnosed lung cancer at the Zhongshan People's Hospital Department of Radiotherapy for Thoracic Cancer between January 2017 and June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Risk factors for radiation pneumonitis were identified through multivariate logistic regression analysis and utilized to construct a dynamic nomogram. The predictive performance of the nomogram was validated using a bootstrapped concordance index and calibration plots.
Results: Age, smoking index, chemotherapy, and whole lung V5/MLD were identified as significant factors contributing to the accurate prediction of symptomatic pneumonitis. A dynamic nomogram for symptomatic pneumonitis was developed using these risk factors. The area under the curve was 0.89(95% confidence interval 0.83-0.95). The nomogram demonstrated a concordance index of 0.89(95% confidence interval 0.82-0.95) and was well calibrated. Furthermore, the threshold values for high- risk and low- risk were determined to be 154 using the receiver operating curve.
Conclusions: The developed dynamic nomogram offers an accurate and convenient tool for clinical application in predicting the risk of symptomatic pneumonitis in patients with lung cancer undergoing thoracic radiation.

Abstract Affected by the erosive environment, tunnel lining concrete in the long-term service zprocess often exhibits engineering diseases such as concrete corrosion degradation and loss of strength, decreasing the stability of the tunnel lining structure and the traffic safety. Based on HTG tunnel project, the basic distribution rule of tunnel lining corrosion and macro mechanical properties of corroded concrete were explored in this paper through engineering disease site investigation. Then, on this basis, aiming at large-scale corrosion of tunnel lining structure, two reinforcement and repair schemes are proposed, corrugated steel plate reinforcement method and channel steel reinforcement method. Indoor component tests are carried out on the two reinforcement schemes. The failure characteristics and stress and deformation law of tunnel lining members after reinforcement and repair were verified. The analysis showed that the failure process of the reinforced specimens on the tensile side could be divided into the non-cracking stage and the working stage with cracks, and the cracking load and failure load of the specimens were significantly increased. The bearing capacity of the reinforced specimens was divided into the ultimate bearing capacity against cracking and the ultimate bearing capacity during failure. Finally, the calculation methods of the bearing capacity of the channel steel reinforcement method and the corrugated steel plate reinforcement method were derived. Comparative analysis shows that the results of numerical simulation, experimental testing and theoretical simplification methods are close to each other, and the maximum deviation is less than 8%. The established method for calculating the bearing capacity of corroded components after reinforcement is reliable and can be used for the design calculation of corroded lining reinforcement.

Abstract China's economic growth has entered "new normal," and the task of reducing carbon emissions has become more onerous. Hence, this study aimed to explore whether China's carbon emissions trading pilot policy stimulated corporate green innovation capabilities. The data pertained to the green patent data of the listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges during 2008-2018. Using a difference-in-difference-in-differences (DDD) method, the study took advantage of the variations across regions, across enterprises, and across years and obtained several novel findings. First, the pilot carbon emissions trading policy significantly stimulated the green innovation capabilities of emission control companies in the pilot areas compared with enterprises in nonpilot areas and the nonemission control list. Second, the effect of the policy on the improvement in corporate green innovation capabilities might be driven by the improvement in corporate input factor allocation efficiency and the additional benefits that could be obtained from the carbon trading market. Third, the positive effect of the policy on the green innovation capabilities of state-owned enterprises was more significant. Therefore, the establishment and promotion of a unified national carbon emissions trading market and supporting mechanisms should be accelerated to achieve the balance of stable economic growth and carbon emission task.
