Abstract Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is a major cause of diarrhea and diarrhea-related deaths among piglets and results in massive losses to the overall porcine industry. The clinical manifestations of porcine diarrhea brought on by the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), and PDCoV are oddly similar to each other. Hence, the identification of different pathogens through molecular diagnosis and serological techniques is crucial. Three novel detection methods for identifying PDCoV have been developed utilizing recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) or reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification (RT-RAA) in conjunction with

Abstract Purpose: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. The occurrence and development of HCC are closely related to epigenetic modifications. Epigenetic modifications can regulate gene expression and related functions through DNA methylation. This paper presents an association analysis method of HCC-related hub proteins and hub genes.
Experimental design: Bioinformatics analysis of HCC-related DNA methylation data is carried out to clarify the molecular mechanism of HCC-related genes and to find hub genes (genes with more connections in the network) by constructing in the gene interaction network. This paper proposes an accurate prediction method of protein-protein interaction (PPI) based on deep learning model DeepSG2PPI. The trained DeepSG2PPI model predicts the interaction relationship between the synthetic proteins regulated by HCC-related genes.
Results: This paper finds that four genes are the intersection of hub genes and hub proteins. The four genes are: FBL, CCNB2, ALDH18A1, and RPLP0. The association of RPLP0 gene with HCC is a new finding of this study. RPLP0 is expected to become a new biomarker for the treatment, diagnosis, and prognosis of HCC. The four proteins corresponding to the four genes are: ENSP00000221801, ENSP00000288207, ENSP00000360268, and ENSP00000449328.
Conclusions and clinical relevance: The association between the hub genes with the hub proteins is analyzed. The mutual verification of the hub genes and the hub proteins can obtain more credible HCC-related genes and proteins, which is helpful for the diagnosis, treatment, and drug development of HCC.

Abstract The analysis of variance-projected difference resolution (ANOVA-PDR) was proposed and compared with multivariate classification for its potential in detecting possible food adulteration in extra virgin olive oils (EVOOs) by UV-Vis spectra. Three factors including origin, adulteration level, and adulteration type were systematically examined by the ANOVA-derived methods. The ANOVA-PDR quantitatively presented the separation of the internal classes according to the three main factors. Specifically, the average ANOVA-derived PDRs of the EVOO origination and adulteration level, respectively, is 4.01 and 1.78, while the conventional PDRs of the three factors are all less than 1.5. Furthermore, the partial least-squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) and the PLS regression (PLSR) modeling with the selected sub-datasets from different origins were used to verify the results. The resulting models suggested that the three main factors and their interactions were all important sources of spectral variations.

Abstract This study explores a student-centered teaching method in postgraduate courses. Teacher-centered classroom teaching cannot fully stimulate learning initiative and enthusiasm of students. Student-centered means that students actively learn and construct knowledge by participating in teaching activities. This study presents a student-centered online-offline hybrid teaching method, which adopts student-centered case-based teaching and online-offline case discussion in the postgraduate courses of computer science. The latest engineering cases are integrated into teaching and a case library is constructed. Taking the digital image processing course as an example, student-centered teaching allows students to choose what to learn and how to learn. Case-based teaching makes students better understand the application of theory of knowledge. It can introduce multiple perspectives, promote understanding and reflection on problems, and help students develop higher-level thinking, analysis, and synthesis skills. This study explores online-offline case discussion method in the student-centered teaching and proposes the principles of case design of postgraduate courses. Revised Bloom's taxonomy is used for teaching assessment. The actual teaching effect shows that student-centered case-based teaching and online-offline case discussion have achieved better teaching effect.

Abstract The aim of this review is to introduce some applications of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for the detection and quantification of coronary stenosis using computed tomography angiography (CTA). The realization of automatic/semi-automatic stenosis detection and quantification includes the following steps: vessel central axis extraction, vessel segmentation, stenosis detection, and quantification. Many new AI techniques, such as machine learning and deep learning, have been widely used in medical image segmentation and stenosis detection. This review also summarizes the recent progress regarding coronary stenosis detection and quantification, and discusses the development trends in this field. Through evaluation and comparison, researchers can better understand the research frontier in related fields, compare the advantages and disadvantages of various methods, and better optimize the new technologies. Machine learning and deep learning will promote the process of automatic detection and quantification of coronary artery stenosis. However, the machine learning and the deep learning methods need a large amount of data, so they also face some challenges because of the lack of professional image annotations (manually add labels by experts).

Abstract Metamaterials are created by arranging small scatterers in a regular array throughout a space to manipulate electromagnetic waves. However, current design methods view metasurfaces as independent meta-atoms, which limits the range of geometrical structures and materials used, and prevents the generation of arbitrary electric field distributions. To address this issue, we propose an inverse design method based on generative adversarial networks (GANs), which includes both a forward model and an inverse algorithm. The forward model utilizes dyadic Green's function to interpret the expression of non-local response, realizing the mapping from scattering properties to generated electric fields. The inverse algorithm innovatively transforms the scattering properties and electric fields into images and generates datasets with methods in computer vision (CV), proposing an architecture of GAN with ResBlock to achieve the design for the target electric field pattern. Our algorithm improves upon traditional methods, as it achieves greater time efficiency and generates higher quality electric fields. From a metamaterial perspective, our method can find optimal scattering properties for specific generated electric fields. Training results and extensive experiments demonstrate the algorithm's validity.

Abstract Wild medicinal plants are prominent in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), but their availability is being impacted by human activities and ecological degradation in China. To ensure sustainable use of these resources, it is crucial to scientifically plan areas for wild plant cultivation. Thesium chinense, a known plant antibiotic, has been overharvested in recent years, resulting in a sharp reduction in its wild resources. In this study, we employed three atmospheric circulation models and four socio-economic approaches (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SSP5-8.5) to investigate the primary environmental factors influencing the distribution of T. chinense. We also examined changes in its suitable area using the Biomod2 package. Additionally, we utilized the PLUS model to project and analyze future land use changes in climate-stable regions for T. chinense. Our planning for wild tending areas of T. chinense was facilitated by the ZONATION software. Over the next century, the climate-stable regions for T. chinense in China is approximately 383.05 × 10
