Abstract Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), the mainstream treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is a method of blocking tumor blood vessels with a mixture of lipiodol and chemotherapeutics. And the contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) is the commonly used way for follow-up of HCC after TACE. However, it is noteworthy that when lipiodol deposition plays an embolic effect, it also produces high-density artifacts in CT images. These artifacts usually conceal the enhancement effect of iodine contrast agents. As a result, the residual region is difficult to be visualized. To overcome this obstacle, we developed one kind of Lu

Abstract On March 23, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Pluvicto (lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan), also known as 177Lu-PSMA-617, for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who have highly expressed prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and have at least one metastatic lesion. It is the first FDA-approved targeted radioligand therapy for eligible men with PSMA-positive mCRPC. Lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan is a radioligand that strongly binds to PSMA, making it ideal for treating cancers of the prostate by targeted radiation, resulting in DNA damage and cell death. PSMA is overexpressed in cancer cells while being lowly expressed in normal tissues, which makes it an ideal theranostic target. As precision medicine advances, this is a thrilling turning point for highly individualized treatments. This review aims to summarize the pharmacology and clinical studies of the novel drug lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan for the treatment of mCRPC, emphasizing its mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics and safety.

Abstract Environmental pollution caused by ciprofloxacin is a major problem of global public health. A machine learning-assisted portable smartphone-based visualized molecularly imprinted electrochemiluminescence (MIECL) sensor was developed for the highly selective and sensitive detection of ciprofloxacin (CFX) in food. To boost the efficiency of electrochemiluminescence (ECL), oxygen vacancies (OVs) enrichment was introduced into the flower-like Tb@Lu

Abstract Background: To develop a novel machine learning-based intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation formula for highly myopic eyes.
Methods: A total of 1828 eyes (from 1828 highly myopic patients) undergoing cataract surgery in our hospital were used as the internal dataset, and 151 eyes from 151 highly myopic patients from two other hospitals were used as external test dataset. The Zhu-Lu formula was developed based on the eXtreme Gradient Boosting and the support vector regression algorithms. Its accuracy was compared in the internal and external test datasets with the Barrett Universal II (BUII), Emmetropia Verifying Optical (EVO) 2.0, Kane, Pearl-DGS and Radial Basis Function (RBF) 3.0 formulas.
Results: In the internal test dataset, the Zhu-Lu, RBF 3.0 and BUII ranked top three from low to high taking into account standard deviations (SDs) of prediction errors (PEs). The Zhu-Lu and RBF 3.0 showed significantly lower median absolute errors (MedAEs) than the other formulas (all P < 0.05). In the external test dataset, the Zhu-Lu, Kane and EVO 2.0 ranked top three from low to high considering SDs of PEs. The Zhu-Lu formula showed a comparable MedAE with BUII and EVO 2.0 but significantly lower than Kane, Pearl-DGS and RBF 3.0 (all P < 0.05). The Zhu-Lu formula ranked first regarding the percentages of eyes within ± 0.50 D of the PE in both test datasets (internal: 80.61%; external: 72.85%). In the axial length subgroup analysis, the PE of the Zhu-Lu stayed stably close to zero in all subgroups.
Conclusions: The novel IOL power calculation formula for highly myopic eyes demonstrated improved and stable predictive accuracy compared with other artificial intelligence-based formulas.

Abstract Background: Personalized dosimetry for Lu-177-PSMA treatment requires multiple-time-point SPECT/CT scans to calculate time-integrated activity (TIA). This study evaluates two-time-point (TTP) methods for TIA calculation for kidneys and tumors.
    Methods: A total of 18 patients treated with 3.7-7.4 GBq Lu-177 PSMA-617 were analyzed retrospectively, including 18 sets of left and right kidneys, as well as 45 tumors. Four quantitative SPECT/CT (4TP) were acquired at 2 h, 20 h, 40 h, 60 h (
Results: For the kidneys, the TTP methods using 20 h-60 h and 40 h-200 h had smaller mean absolute errors of 8.05 ± 6.05% and 4.95 ± 3.98%, respectively, as compared to other combinations of time points and STP methods. For tumors, the type I and type II TTP methods using 20h-60 h and 40-200 h had smaller mean absolute errors of 6.14 ± 5.19% and 12.22 ± 4.44%, and 8.31 ± 7.16% and 4.48 ± 7.10%, respectively, as compared to other TTP and STP methods.
Conclusion: The TTP methods based on later imaging time demonstrated fewer errors than the STP methods in kidney and tumor TIA. Imaging at 20 h-60 h and 40 h-200 h could simplify the dosimetry procedures with fewer TIA estimation errors.

Abstract Visible and infrared persistent phosphors have gained considerable attention in recent years and are being widely used as glow-in-the-dark materials in dark environments. In contrast, the progress in persistent phosphors emitting at the other end of the spectrum, i.e., the shorter-wavelength ultraviolet-C (UVC; 200-280 nm), is rather slow. Here we report the design and synthesis of a well-performing Pr3+-doped UVC emissive persistent phosphor, Lu2SiO5:Pr3+, which exhibits intense UVC persistent luminescence peaking at 270 nm and a long persistence time of more than 12 h after excitation with a 254 nm UV lamp. Besides, the UVC persistent luminescence of a UV pre-irradiated sample can be repeatedly revived after repeated short-illumination with low-energy white light via a process called photostimulated persistent luminescence. Owing to the distinct spectral features of UVC light and the self-sustained luminescence properties, the UVC persistent luminescence of the Lu2SiO5:Pr3+ persistent phosphor can be clearly monitored and imaged using a corona camera in bright environments including direct sunlight and indoor light. The Lu2SiO5:Pr3+ persistent phosphor is expected to find promising applications in the covert optical tagging field.
