Abstract Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetic degeneration disease of the nervous system with ataxia as the main clinical manifestation, and the most frequent subtype of SCA3 is known to be caused by CAG repeat expansions of more than 55 units in ATXN3. In this study, we used peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from a volunteer with 14/63 CAG repeats in ATXN3 to generate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), which will be a good model for studying SCA3.

Abstract The nonequilibrium Fermi's golden rule (NE-FGR) approach is developed to simulate the electronic transitions between multiple excited states in complex condensed-phase systems described by the recently proposed multi-state harmonic (MSH) model Hamiltonian. The MSH models were constructed to faithfully capture the photoinduced charge transfer dynamics in a prototypical organic photovoltaic carotenoid-porphyrin-C60 molecular triad dissolved in tetrahydrofuran. A general expression of the fully quantum-mechanical NE-FGR rate coefficients for transitions between all pairs of states in the MSH model is obtained. Besides, the linearized semiclassical NE-FGR formula and a series of semiclassical approximations featuring Wigner and classical nuclear sampling choices and different dynamics during the quantum coherence period for the MSH model are derived. The current approach enables all the possible population transfer pathways between the excited states of the triad, in contrast to the previous applications that only addressed the donor-to-acceptor transition. Our simulations for two triad conformations serve as a demonstration for benchmarking different NE-FGR approximations and show that the difference between all levels of approximation is small for the current system, especially at room temperature. By comparing with nonadiabatic semiclassical dynamics, we observe similar timescales for the electronic population transfer predicted by NE-FGR. It is believed that the general formulation of NE-FGR for the MSH Hamiltonian enables a variety of applications in realistic systems.

Abstract As the profit and safety requirements become higher and higher, it is more and more necessary to realize an advanced intelligent analysis for abnormity forecast of the synthetical balance of material and energy (AF-SBME) on aluminum reduction cells (ARCs). Without loss of generality, AF-SBME belongs to classification problems. Its advanced intelligent analysis can be realized by high-performance data-driven classifiers. However, AF-SBME has some difficulties, including a high requirement for interpretability of data-driven classifiers, a small number, and decreasing-over-time correctness of training samples. In this article, based on a preferable data-driven classifier, which is called a reinforced k -nearest neighbor (R-KNN) classifier, a delicately R-KNN combined with expert knowledge (DR-KNN/CE) is proposed. It improves R-KNN in two ways, including using expert knowledge as external assistance and enhancing self-ability to mine and synthesize data knowledge. The related experiments on AF-SBME, where the relevant data are directly sampled from practical production, have demonstrated that the proposed DR-KNN/CE not only makes an effective improvement for R-KNN, but also has a more advanced performance compared with other existing high-performance data-driven classifiers.

Abstract Phytoplankton biomass is an intuitive indicator to evaluate the stability of marine ecosystems. How to obtain phytoplankton biomass quickly and accurately is the focus of marine research. In this work, we selected 12 phytoplankton species to explore the relationship between cell volume and cellular compounds. Results indicated that the volume of 12 species spanned 6 orders of magnitude from 0.11 μm

Abstract The intelligent transformation of coal mines is an inevitable choice to promote the green transformation of energy and to achieve safety and efficiency in the industry. Exploring the path of its efficient construction is the key to realizing the construction of intelligent coal mines in China. To analyze the configuration paths for the efficient construction of intelligent coal mines, 17 typical coal-producing provinces in China were used as the research object of a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), and five conditional variables, namely research funds, technical talent, government importance degree, national demonstration, and basic resource support, were selected from four levels (technology, organization, environment, and resources) based on relevant national data from 2019–2021, and multiple configurations as well as multiple driving paths for the construction of intelligent coal mines were discussed. We found that there are three configuration paths that will enable the construction of intelligent coal mines: a technology-driven path under the government’s supervision, a path jointly driven by three-prongs, and a policy-driven path under the resource priority. The critical importance of the government is the common factor among the three driving modes. These research results can provide useful construction ideas for the construction of intelligent coal mines in different regions and enable provincial governments to carry out strategic combination actions according to local conditions to contribute to the efficient construction of intelligent coal mines and the green transformation of energy across the country.
