Abstract Aiming at the problem of low accuracy of face detection under complex occlusion conditions, a double-channel occlusion perceptron neural network model was proposed. The area occlusion judgment unit is designed and integrated into the VGG16 network to form an occlusion perceptron neural network. Thereupon, the features of unoccluded regions and less occluded regions in facial images are extracted by the perceptual neural network. Transfer learning algorithm is utilized to pretrain parameters of the convolution layer to reduce the overfitting problem caused by insufficient training data samples. Face features of the whole face were extracted by optimizing the residual network, and then the face features of the occluding perceptron neural network and the residual network were weighted and fused. Experiments were carried out on two open data sets, AR and MAFA. The results demonstrate that the detection accuracy of this method is higher than that of other methods, and the detection speed is faster.

Abstract To address the problems of low prediction accuracy and slow convergence of the network security posture prediction model, a population intelligence optimization algorithm is proposed to improve the network security posture prediction model of the BP neural network. First, the adaptive adjustment of the two parameters with the increase of iterations is achieved by improving the inertia weights and learning factors in the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm so that the PSO has a large search range and high speed at the initial stage and a strong and stable convergence capability at the later stage. Secondly, to address the problem that PSO is prone to fall into a local optimum, the genetic operator is embedded into the operation process of the particle swarm algorithm, and the excellent global optimization performance of the genetic algorithm is used to open up the spatial vision of the particle population, revive the stagnant particles, accelerate the update amplitude of the algorithm, and achieve the purpose of improving the premature problem. Finally, the improved algorithm is combined with the BP neural network to optimize the BP neural network and applied to the network security posture assessment. The experimental comparison of different optimization algorithms is applied, and the results show that the network security posture prediction method of this model has the smallest error, the highest accuracy, and the fastest convergence, and can effectively predict future changes in network security posture.

Abstract The intrinsically low electrical conductivity and poor structural fragility of MnO2 have significantly hampered the zinc storage performance. In this work, Ba2+-implanted δ-MnO2 nanosheets have been hydrothermally grown on a carbon cloth (Ba-MnO2@CC) as an extremely stable and efficient cathode material of aqueous zinc-ion batteries. The three-dimensionally porous architecture composed of interwoven thin MnO2 nanosheets effectively shortens the electron/ion transport distances, enlarges the electrode/electrolyte contact area, and increases the active sites for the electrochemical reaction. Meanwhile, Ba2+ could function as an interlayer pillar to stabilize the crystal structure of MnO2. Consequently, the as-optimized Ba-MnO2@CC exhibits remarkable Zn2+ storage capabilities, such as a high capacity (305 mAh g-1 at 0.2 A g-1), prolonged lifespan (95% retention after a 200-cycling test), and superb rate capability. The binder-free cathode is also applicable for flexible energy storage devices with attractive properties. The present investigation provides important insights into designing advanced cathode materials toward wearable electronics.

Abstract Due to the complex network environment, the feedback information cannot be timely received by the controller. This article proposes a method on the exponential synchronization for the Markovian jump neural networks, which is achieved by designing a new asynchronous delayed-feedback controller, with its feedback delay taken into account. The quantized relationship between the exponential synchronization and the feedback delay is derived from a new designed Lyapunov functional, to acquire delay boundaries. With the help of a hidden-Markov process, the designed controller shows asynchrony, which allows controller modes to run free. In particular, the detection probability is assumed to be bounded known, marking a breakthrough over existing results. Moreover, the proposed method proves to be applicable in both synchronous and asynchronous cases. By using the proposed method, the computation freedom of the controller gain matrix can be substantially augmented. Further, comparative numerical studies are implemented to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Abstract Objective: Sleep problems and their detrimental effects on adolescents' physical and mental health have received substantial attention. Prior studies have focused mainly on the direct association between sleep and mental health; however, little is known about the underlying mediating mechanism. To address this gap, the present study constructed a chain mediation model to examine the association between sleep deficiency and mental health status in adolescents, by introducing two mediating variables-physical health perception and school adjustment.
Methods: A sample of 7530 senior high school students completed a battery of self-report questionnaires measuring their sleep duration, mental health status, physical health perception, and school adjustment. Data were collected from the Database of Youth Health at Shandong University. All the measures showed good reliability and validity in the present study. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and the SPSS PROCESS.
Results: The results were as follows: (1) Sleep duration was significantly associated with physical health perception and mental health. (2) Physical health perception partially mediated the association between sleep and mental health. (3) Physical health perception and school adjustment played a chain mediating role between sleep and mental health. In conclusion, sleep not only directly associated with mental health among adolescents, but also influences mental health by the chain mediating effect of perception of physical health and school adjustment.
Conclusion: These findings in the present study contribute to understanding the mechanisms underlying the association between sleep and mental health and have important implications for interventions aimed at improving mental health status among adolescents in China. Our results indicated that promoting adequate sleep duration and improving sleep quality are possible key mental health promotion strategies for adolescents.

Abstract Nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs) and polyketide synthases (PKSs) are multi-domainal megasynthases. While they are capable of generating a structurally diverse array of metabolites of therapeutic relevance, their mere size and complex nature of their assembly (intermediates are tethered and enzyme bound) make them inherently difficult to characterize. In order to facilitate structural characterization of these metabolites, a thioester capture strategy that enables direct trapping and characterization of the thioester-bound enzyme intermediates was developed. Specifically, a synthetic Biotin-Cys agent was designed and utilized, enabling direct analysis by LCMS/MS and NMR spectroscopy. In the long term, the approach might facilitate the discovery of novel scaffolds from cryptic biosynthetic pathways, paving the way for the development of drug leads and therapeutic initiatives.
