Abstract Background: One of the most common causes of lung cancer relapse after clinical treatment is radioresistance. However, the mechanism underlying radioresistance remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the role of Ras p21 protein activator (RASA2) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: The messenger RNA (mRNA) of
Results: The results indicated a negative correlation between the mRNA expression levels of
Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that RASA2 negatively regulates p53 in cancer cells and therefore promotes radioresistance, providing a new predictive biomarker and a potential therapeutic target for radioresistance.

Abstract The field monitoring data showed that a small amount of main reinforcement bars of lattice girder at the arch of a tunnel were pulled, and the calculation showed that the initial support structure should be compressed. To find out the reason for the tension of the main reinforcement, the geological radar was used to detect the cavity in the sprayed concrete layer at the tension position. In order to clarify the tension mechanism of the main reinforcement and the influence of factors such as the position and size of the cavity on the main reinforcement, numerical simulations were carried out. The results show that the cavity causes the eccentric compression of the shotcrete layer, resulting in moment of the lattice girder and the change of the stress distribution of the main reinforcement. The main reinforcement experiences tensile stress when the cavity size surpasses 3 m × 0.2 m, reaching a tensile stress of 81 MPa at a cavity size of 6 m × 0.2 m. Notably, the cavity located at the foot of the arch is more likely to produce substantial tensile stress on the primary reinforcement compared to those at the arch crown and waist. The research results provide a theoretical basis for the interpretation and analysis of tunnel lattice girder monitoring data.

Abstract Based on the theory of the microwave photonic filter (MPF), to our knowledge, a novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) wavelength demodulation method based on time-domain detection is proposed. The method uses VNA (vector network analyzer) to measure the S21 parameter of the sensor system, and converts them to the time-domain through inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT), The wavelength demodulation and positioning of FBG can be realized by measuring the amplitude and position of the time-domain peak. In order to improve the number of FBG multiplexes, a method is proposed to eliminate the effect of spectrum overlap by normalization in the case of two FBGs and three FBGs. The experimental results show that the temperature sensitivity is 0.00503 RAC/°C, the positioning resolution of the system is 1.25 cm, and the limit of the wavelength difference between two FBGs allowed by the system is 0.25 nm. This method has the advantages of high demodulation precision, strong multiplexing ability and high precision positioning, and has broad application prospects.

Abstract An endophytic bacterium Paenibacillus polymyxa DS-R5 which can effectively inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi was isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza in our previous study. By using hydrochloric acid precipitation, methanol extraction, silica gel column isolation, dextran gel chromatography column, and HPLC, 3 compounds with antifungal activity were isolated. To further improve the production of antifungal compounds produced by this strain, fermentation medium was optimized using one-factor-at-a-time, Plackett-Burman design, and Box-Behnken design experiments. Through statistical optimization, the optimal medium composition was determined to be as follows: 14.7 g/l sucrose, 20.0 g/l soluble starch, 7.0 g/l corn steep liquor, 10.0 g/l (NH

Abstract Introduction: Pelvic lipomatosis is a rare benign disease characterized by urethral elongation, bladder deformity, and/or hydronephrosis. Conservative management is not effective, and urinary diversion is the most effective treatment option but is usually unacceptable for relatively young patients. Ureteral reimplantation seemed to be an appropriate modality under these conditions. We present one case in which pelvic lipomatosis was managed with ureteral reimplantation.
Patient presentation: A 45-year-old, previously healthy man presented with right flank pain. Pelvic CT and CT urography showed excessive pelvic fat, bilateral hydronephrosis, tortuous ureters, and a pear-shaped bladder, all of which indicated a diagnosis of pelvic lipomatosis. We performed laparoscopic bilateral urinary tract infection on this patient. At follow-up, bilateral hydronephrosis and flank pain were greatly relieved.
Conclusion: Pelvic lipomatosis can be managed safely and effectively by urinary tract infection, but longer follow-up periods are needed to evaluate the long-term efficacy of this approach.
