Abstract A spectral image analysis has the potential to replace traditional approaches for assessing plant responses to different types of stresses, including herbicides, through non-destructive and high-throughput screening (HTS). Therefore, this study was conducted to develop a rapid bioassay method using a multi-well plate and spectral image analysis for the diagnosis of herbicide activity and modes of action. Crabgrass (

Abstract The morphological transitions induced by external stimuli in shape-memory polymers (SMPs) can be exploited with the real-time response of far-field diffraction patterns in diffractive optical elements (DOEs). In this paper, we combine the temperature characteristics of SMPs and the display characteristics of DOEs to obtain an optical temperature sensing film where the temperature information is taken as a change of far-field diffraction images. This process was achieved by imprinting the micropatterns of the DOEs on the epoxy-based SMP film, which can be programmed to hold a temporary optical image and revert to its original image upon exposure to a specific temperature. Furthermore, the specific temperature at which the image transformation occurs can be customized by varying the chain flexibility of the SMP. Based on a range of transition points, by imprinting the desired combination of SMP-DOEs on a film, a sensor that can record and inform the temperature history is demonstrated. As for the feasible application of this technique, it can be used for the compact and reliable optical temperature indicators, which can be applied in temperature-sensitive industries such as food and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract Retroperitoneal ectopic pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy. Owing to its rarity and nonspecific symptoms, diagnosing retroperitoneal ectopic pregnancy at the initial presentation poses a significant challenge. Typically, the diagnosis relies on non-radiation imaging modalities, such as ultrasonography and MRI, whereas CT is infrequently used. Herein, we report a rare case of a retroperitoneal ectopic pregnancy, which was diagnosed using CT.

Abstract Gastric metastasis (GM) from cervical cancer is extremely rare, and only a few cases have been reported in the English literature. Gastric-type mucinous adenocarcinomas (GAS) of the uterine cervix are rare. GAS is an aggressive cancer commonly found in advanced stages; however, GM has not been reported. This study presents a rare case of GM from GAS of the uterine cervix in a 61-year-old female and describes the radiological findings of both the GM and cervical mucinous adenocarcinoma. GM appeared as a poor enhancing submucosal mass. The cervical mucinous adenocarcinoma appeared as an infiltrating mass with poor contrast enhancement. It exhibited mildly high and low signal intensities on the diffusion-weighted image and apparent diffusion coefficient map, respectively. This case is extremely rare and challenging to diagnose; however, if cervical cancer is an human papillomavirus-independent GAS type and a submucosal lesion is found in the stomach, the possibility of metastasis with a pattern similar to our case could be considered.

Abstract Research findings on the relationship between dietary resistant starch (RS) intake and metabolic diseases using population-based data are very scarce. This study examined the association of dietary RS intake with obesity and metabolic syndrome in Korean adults. A total of 12,491 adults (5292 men and 7199 women) were selected from the 2016-2018 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data. The individual RS intake (g) was calculated by linking the 1-day 24 h recall data with the RS content database for common Korean foods. Obesity was defined as a BMI ≥ 25.0 kg/m
