    Abstract To assess the effect of telemedicine on stoma-related complications in adults with enterostomy, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of the telemedicine group compared to the usual group. Literature searches were performed in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, China Biology Medicine (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WanFang and VIP databases from their inception up to October 2023. Two authors independently screened and extracted data from the included and excluded literature according to predetermined criteria. Data collected were subjected to meta-analysis using Review Manager 5.3 software. The final analysis included a total of 22 articles, encompassing 2237 patients (telemedicine group: 1125 patients, usual group: 1112 patients). The meta-analysis results demonstrated that, compared to the usual group, the telemedicine group significantly reduced the overall occurrence of stoma-related complications, with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.22 (95% CI = 0.15-0.32, p < 0.00001). Furthermore, it resulted in a decrease in stoma complications (OR = 0.27, 95% CI = 0.15-0.47, p < 0.00001) and peristomal complications (OR = 0.25, 95% CI = 0.19-0.34, p < 0.00001). Therefore, the existing evidence suggests that the application of telemedicine can reduce the incidence of stoma and peristomal complications, making it a valuable clinical recommendation.

    Abstract Background: The frequency and content of follow-up strategies remain controversial for colorectal cancer (CRC), and scheduled follow-ups have limited value.
    Aim: To compare intensive and conventional follow-up strategies for the prognosis of non-metastatic CRC treated with curative intent using a meta-analysis.
    Methods: PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched for potentially eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from inception until April 2023. The Cochrane risk of bias was used to assess the methodological quality of the included studies. The hazard ratio, relative risk, and 95% confidence interval were used to calculate survival and categorical data, and pooled analyses were performed using the random-effects model. Additional exploratory analyses were performed for sensitivity, subgroups, and publication bias.
    Results: Eighteen RCTs involving 8533 patients with CRC were selected for the final analysis. Intensive follow-up may be superior to conventional follow-up in improving overall survival, but this difference was not statistically significant. Moreover, intensive follow-up was associated with an increased incidence of salvage surgery compared to conventional follow-up. In addition, there was no significant difference in the risk of recurrence between intensive and conventional follow-up strategies, whereas intensive follow-up was associated with a reduced risk of interval recurrence compared to conventional follow-up. Finally, the effects of intensive and conventional follow-up strategies differed when stratified by tumor location and follow-up duration.
    Conclusion: Intensive follow-up may have a beneficial effect on the overall survival of patients with non-metastatic CRC treated with curative intent.

    Abstract The reliable and accurate detection of unauthorized additives in food is significant to prevent health risks. In recent years, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with fast, simple, and sensitive capabilities has been widely used for food safety analysis. In order to detect illegally added dye molecule rhodamine 6G and small molecule melamine in food, we have proposed a fast, convenient, and label-free SERS detection technology using flower-like Ag/ZnO as the SERS substrate. The structure and morphology of the flower-like Ag/ZnO were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometery, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. We investigated the SERS effect and sensitivity of flower-like Ag/ZnO toward rhodamine 6G and melamine. The synergistic effect of flower-like Ag/ZnO provides high SERS activity for the detection of rhodamine 6G and melamine at the lowest detection concentrations of 0.5 ng mL

    Abstract Just as navigating a physical environment, navigating through the landscapes of spontaneous brain states may also require an internal cognitive map. Contemporary computation theories propose modeling a cognitive map from a reinforcement learning perspective and argue that the map would be predictive in nature, representing each state as its upcoming states. Here, we used resting-state fMRI to test the hypothesis that the spaces of spontaneously reoccurring brain states are cognitive map-like, and may exhibit future-oriented predictivity. We identified two discrete brain states of the navigation-related brain networks during rest. By combining pattern similarity and dimensional reduction analysis, we embedded the occurrences of each brain state in a two-dimensional space. Successor representation modeling analysis recognized that these brain state occurrences exhibit place cell-like representations, akin to those observed in a physical space. Moreover, we observed predictive transitions of reoccurring brain states, which strongly covaried with individual cognitive and emotional assessments. Our findings offer a novel perspective on the cognitive significance of spontaneous brain activity and support the theory of cognitive map as a unifying framework for mental navigation.

    Abstract Optical delay lines have wide applications in terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and optical coherence tomography. In this study, a fast-rotating optical delay line (FRODL) with 24 turntable reflection surfaces was designed. By analyzing the working principle of the FRODL, a mathematical model was established for the nonlinear parameter error of the FRODL delay time. By constructing the polarization Michelson interference system and testing the FRODL structure, the error of actual assembly parameters of the FRODL was approximately 0.015 mm, the actual delay time of the FRODL was greater than 43.5 ps, and the linearity was 99.785%.
