Abstract Mucoceles rarely involve major salivary glands. Very few cases involving the submandibular gland have been reported to date. A young male child presented with diffuse, soft, and painless swelling of the left submandibular region. Investigations suggested mucocele of the submandibular salivary gland. The mucocele was excised along with the left submandibular gland. Recovery was uneventful.

Abstract In the era of advanced mobile technology, freedom of expression over social media has become prevalent among online users. This generates a huge amount of communication that eventually forms a ground for extensive research and analysis. The social network analysis allows identifying the influential people in society over microblogging platforms. Twitter, being an evolving social media platform, has become increasingly vital for online dialogues, trends, and content virality. Applications of discovering influential users over Twitter are manifold. It includes viral marketing, brand analysis, news dissemination, health awareness spreading, propagating political movement, and opinion leaders for empowering governance. In our research, we have proposed a sustainable approach, namely Weighted Correlated Influence (WCI), which incorporates the relative impact of timeline-based and trend-specific features of online users. Our methodology considers merging the profile activity and underlying network topology to designate online users with an influence score, which represents the combined effect. To quantify the performance of our proposed method, the Twitter trend #CoronavirusPandemic is used. Also, the results are validated for another social media trend. The experimental outcomes depict enhanced performance of proposed WCI over existing methods that are based on precision, recall, and F1-measure for validation.

Abstract Children's drawings have a wonderful inventiveness, creativity, and variety to them. We present a system that automatically animates children's drawings of the human figure, is robust to the variance inherent in these depictions, and is simple and straightforward enough for anyone to use. We demonstrate the value and broad appeal of our approach by building and releasing the Animated Drawings Demo, a freely available public website that has been used by millions of people around the world. We present a set of experiments exploring the amount of training data needed for fine-tuning, as well as a perceptual study demonstrating the appeal of a novel twisted perspective retargeting technique. Finally, we introduce the Amateur Drawings Dataset, a first-of-its-kind annotated dataset, collected via the public demo, containing over 178,000 amateur drawings and corresponding user-accepted character bounding boxes, segmentation masks, and joint location annotations.

Abstract Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNCs) play a vital role in modern science & nanotechnology evolution. In this study, non-wood, i.e., Lagenaria siceraria peels, a food-industry waste was used as a source of CNCs. CNCs were successfully isolated from Lagenaria siceraria peels, and detailed characterization has been performed. The Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was performed to confirm the successful removal of other components from the waste peel. It holds a crystallinity index of 83% examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The rod-like morphology is established by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). CNC acquired excellent thermal stability (>220 °C) established by Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The zeta potential value of − 28.77 mV leads to the stability of the suspension. The birefringence of the anisotropic liquid crystalline CNCs proves that Lagenaria siceraria peels as an invaluable source for the production of CNCs for photonic and other advanced applications.

Abstract Aim The aim of this study was to determine the changes in the mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and mean uterine artery (UtA) pulsatility index (PI) from 11-14 to 19-24 + 6 gestation weeks in Asian Indian pregnant women. Methods Clinical and demographic details, MAP, and mean UtA PI measures were ascertained for pregnant women at 11 to 14 gestation weeks and 19–24 + 6 gestation weeks. Women were categorized as a high-or-low risk for preterm preeclampsia using the Fetal Medicine Foundation algorithm and 1 in 150 cutoff. High-risk pregnant women were recommended low-dose aspirin 150 mg daily at bedtime. Changes in MAP and mean UtA PI were compared for gestational age intervals and high-and-low risk women using nonparametric tests. Results The study analyzed the results of 1,163 pregnant women. Both MAP (mean difference: 5.14, p < 0.001) and mean UtA PI (mean difference: 0.14, p < 0.001) remained significantly higher at the second-trimester assessment in high-risk pregnant women compared to low-risk pregnant women. Seventy-seven (35.16%) of the 219 pregnant women with abnormal mean UtA PI in the first trimester had an abnormal mean UtA PI in the second-trimester assessment. One hundred (10.59%) of the 944 pregnant women with normal mean UtA PI in the first trimester had an abnormal mean UtA PI in the 19-24 + 6 weeks assessment. Seventy-seven pregnant women (6.62% of 1,163 women, 95% confidence interval: 5.33, 8.20) had an abnormal mean UtA PI at both gestation age intervals. High-risk pregnant women taking low-dose aspirin daily showed a larger reduction in mean UtA PI compared to high-risk pregnant women that did not report the use of low-dose aspirin (0.89 vs. 0.62, p <0.001) Conclusion MAP and mean UtA PI decreased significantly from the first to the second trimester of pregnancy. Sequential assessment of the MAP and mean UtA PI in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy will be useful for fetal radiologists in India to identify a subgroup of women with abnormal mean UtA PI at both trimesters that ...

Abstract Objective: Various intrinsic and extrinsic stains cause discolored teeth, which is of great concern to patients, which can be treated by bleaching, enamel microabrasion, veneers, and crowns. However, bleaching leads to reduced bond strength if adhesive restorations are performed immediately. Thus, the application of antioxidant agents after bleaching has been recommended, which are proved to act as free radical scavengers, improving the bond strength.
Materials and Methods: A total of 120 extracted human maxillary incisor teeth were taken. Using a slow-speed diamond saw and a water coolant spray, the roots of all the teeth were removed approximately 2 mm below the cementoenamel junction. With the labial surface facing upward, each sectioned sample was embedded in the acrylic resin. Then, the central portion of the embedded tooth was ground flattened with 600-grit silicon carbide paper such that the labial enamel surface becomes smooth and evenly flat. All 120 samples were divided into two control groups ( n  = 20), i.e., positive control group ( n  = 10) and negative control group ( n  = 10) and five experimental groups ( n  = 100), such that each experimental group had 20 samples. The enamel surface in both the control groups and groups treated with antioxidants was thoroughly rinsed off with distilled water for 30 seconds and subjected to bonding procedure.
Result: Significant differences were observed among the experimental groups ( p  < 0.05). The samples that were treated with 10% sodium ascorbate (group III) demonstrated significantly higher mean shear bond strength than the other experimental groups ( p  < 0.05).
