Abstract To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease. Four Chinese databases, namely CNKI,VIP,WanFang and SinoMed,and three English databases Cochrane Library, namely Medline, and ClinicalTrail.gov were systematically and comprehensively retrieved from the establishment of each database to June 2018. The quality of the included studies was evaluated by using the risk assessment tools developed by the Cochrane Collaboration, and RevMan 5. 3 software was used for Meta-analysis. A total of 675 articles were retrieved, and finally 56 studies were included. The total sample size was 6 228,the test group included 3 267 cases, and the control group included 2 961 cases. The overall quality of the included studies was generally low. According to the intervention measures and outcome indicators, the included studies were divided into different subgroups for analysis. The main results of Meta-analysis showed that the recurrence rate of Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository combined with antibiotics was lower than that of antibiotics alone. Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository combined with antibiotics was superior to antibiotics alone in terms of abdominal pain, leucorrhea abnormality relief time, mass absorption time and pain relief time. In terms of safety,Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository combined with antibiotics had a lower incidence of adverse reactions than antibiotics alone. Based on the results of this study,it is indicated that Kangfu Xiaoyan Suppository had a certain effect on the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease, especially with a lower recurrence rate. The long-term effect is remarkable. No serious adverse reaction was observed. Restricted by the quality of the studies included, the above conclusion need to be further verified in high-quality,largesize,multi-center clinical researches.

Abstract Background: Qingfei Xiaoyan Wan (QFXY), a traditional Chinese formula, is widely used for relieving cough, asthma, upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, pneumonia, and etc. in clinic. Comparing with other anti-asthma drugs, it is characterised with moderate and persistent efficacy as well as few side effects, however, the underlying action mechanism still remains elusive. This study aimed to identify QFXY multi-target network regulation as an asthma controller.
Methods: This study established asthma model induced by histamine phosphate and acetylcholine chloride (His&Ach) in guinea pigs, which then were administered orally with QFXY. Hematoxylin-Eosin staining sections were applied for evaluating QFXY effect. In both Model and QFXY groups, customized microarrays and 2D electrophoresis were adopted to detect differentially expressed genes (diff genes) and proteins (diff proteins) respectively, and some diff proteins were identified with MALDI-TOF/MS. The checked diff genes and proteins underwent Cluster, GO and KEGG analysis. Based on GAD and HPRD databases, QFXY-asthma target regulation network was constructed.
Results: His&Ach-induced asthma model of guinea pigs was established. HE sections presented anti-inflammation and anti-remodelling effects of QFXY. Comparing with the Model group, 55 diff genes and 6 diff proteins were identified in QFXY group. Validation by qPCR and Western blot showed the microarray and 2D data reliable. Furthermore, QFXY-asthma target regulation network was achieved.
Conclusions: A primarily combined genomic and proteomic screening of QFXY targets displayed a series of candidate genes and proteins, which indicated that the effect of QFXY relied on the combined mechanism, anti-inflammation and anti-remodelling, as well as influencing signal transduction in vivo.

Abstract Amplification-free digital immunoassays (DIAs) typically utilize optical nanoparticles to enhance single immunocomplex molecule detection. The efficiency and uniformity of transferring the nanoparticles from a bulk solution to a solid surface determine the limit of detection (LOD) and the accuracy of DIAs. Previous methods suffer from issues like low efficiency, nonuniform distribution, and particle aggregation. Here, we present a novel technique named synergistic sedimentation of Brownian motion suppression and dehydration transfer (SynSed) for nanoparticles using water-soluble polymers. The efficiency of transferring quantum dots (QDs) was increased from 10.7 to 91.4%, and the variation in QD distribution was restricted to 8.8%. By incorporating SynSed into DIAs, we achieved a remarkable reduction in the LOD (down to 3.9 aM) for carcinoembryonic antigen and expanded the dynamic range to cover 3 orders of magnitude in concentration, ranging from 0.01 to 10 fM. DIAs enhanced with SynSed possess ultrahigh sensitivity, advanced accuracy, and specificity, offering a great premise in early disease diagnostics, risk stratification, and treatment response monitoring.

Abstract Oocytes are the female germ cells, which are susceptible to stress stimuli. The development of oocytes in the ovary is affected by many environmental and metabolic factors, food toxins, aging, and pathological factors. Mitochondria are the main target organelles of these factors, and the damage to mitochondrial structure and function can affect the production of ATP, the regulation of redox reactions, and apoptosis in oocytes. Mitochondrial damage is closely related to the decrease in oocyte quality and is the main factor leading to female infertility. Antioxidant foods or drugs have been used to prevent mitochondrial damage from some stressors or to repair damaged mitochondria, thereby improving oocyte development and female reproductive outcomes. In this paper, the damage of mitochondria during oocyte development by the above factors has been reviewed, and the relevant measures to alleviate the damage of mitochondria in oocytes have been discussed. Our findings may provide a theoretical basis and experimental basis for improving female fertility.
