    Abstract In the realm of human motion recognition systems, the augmentation of 3D human pose data plays a pivotal role in enriching and enhancing the quality of original datasets through the generation of synthetic data. This augmentation is vital for addressing the current research gaps in diversity and complexity, particularly when dealing with rare or complex human movements. Our study introduces a groundbreaking approach employing Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), coupled with Support Vector Machine (SVM) and DenseNet, further enhanced by robot-assisted technology to improve the precision and efficiency of data collection. The GANs in our model are responsible for generating highly realistic and diverse 3D human motion data, while SVM aids in the effective classification of this data. DenseNet is utilized for the extraction of key features, facilitating a comprehensive and integrated approach that significantly elevates both the data augmentation process and the model's ability to process and analyze complex human movements. The experimental outcomes underscore our model's exceptional performance in motion quality assessment, showcasing a substantial improvement over traditional methods in terms of classification accuracy and data processing efficiency. These results validate the effectiveness of our integrated network model, setting a solid foundation for future advancements in the field. Our research not only introduces innovative methodologies for 3D human pose data enhancement but also provides substantial technical support for practical applications across various domains, including sports science, rehabilitation medicine, and virtual reality. By combining advanced algorithmic strategies with robotic technologies, our work addresses key challenges in data augmentation and motion quality assessment, paving the way for new research and development opportunities in these critical areas.

    Abstract Background: Disparities in adverse COVID-19 health outcomes have been associated with multiple social and environmental stressors. However, research is needed to evaluate the consistency and efficiency of methods for studying these associations at local scales.
    Objective: To assess socioexposomic associations with COVID-19 outcomes across New Jersey and evaluate consistency of findings from multiple modeling approaches.
    Methods: We retrieved data for COVID-19 cases and deaths for the 565 municipalities of New Jersey up to the end of the first phase of the pandemic, and calculated mortality rates with and without long-term-care (LTC) facility deaths. We considered 84 spatially heterogeneous environmental, demographic and socioeconomic factors from publicly available databases, including air pollution, proximity to industrial sites/facilities, transportation-related noise, occupation and commuting, neighborhood and housing characteristics, age structure, racial/ethnic composition, poverty, etc. Six geostatistical models (Poisson/Negative-Binomial regression, Poison/Negative-Binomial mixed effect model, Poisson/Negative-Binomial Bersag-York-Mollie spatial model) and two Machine Learning (ML) methods (Random Forest, Extreme Gradient Boosting) were implemented to assess association patterns. The Shapley effects plot was established for explainable ML and change of support validation was introduced to compare performances of different approaches.

    Abstract Recent advances in sonic black hole (SBH) provide new opportunities for controlling sound waves and designing wave manipulation devices. SBH is a device that consists of partitions with gradually decreasing inner radii inserted into an acoustic duct. Several studies have reported that SBH can achieve a broadband sound absorption coefficient close to 1, avoiding the issue of alternating high and low absorption coefficients observed in traditional sound absorbers. However, the fundamental mechanisms and principles behind this behavior are not yet fully understood. This study aims to investigate the detailed sound absorption mechanisms of SBH, including the progressive slow-sound effect and the critical coupling condition that leads to broadband sound absorption. To achieve this goal, an analytical model based on the effective medium approach is developed to investigate the layer-by-layer retardation in sound propagation. The sound absorption coefficient is then determined based on the surface impedance calculation. The effective medium analysis reveals that SBH enables a unique condition to progressively decelerate wave propagation across its layers. As a result, the critical coupling condition becomes more easily established with smoothly increasing SBH partitions and more discretised layers, as elucidated by the complex frequency analysis results. The physical insights gained from this study reveal the distinctive features of SBH compared to classical sound absorbers, paving the way for its engineering applications.

    Abstract Destruction of insulin caused by the gastric microenvironment and rapid deactivation pose inevitable barriers to oral macromolecular absorption, especially for most peptide and protein drugs. In this study, we developed high-density sodium alginate microspheres composed of magnesium oxide and urease to address these challenges. These microspheres aim to anchor the gastric mucus layer and induce microenvironmental liquefaction, thereby enhancing gastric retention and the protection of insulin. The sedimentation test confirmed the capability of the Ins/Ur/MgO@SA microsphere to rapidly traverse the gastric juice under the influence of gravity. Additionally, the urease immobilized on the Ins/Ur/MgO@SA microspheres catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea in the gastric mucus and promotes the liquefaction of mucus, which is beneficial for microsphere retention.     Abstract Background: Long-term rehabilitation of stroke survivors is often difficult and new tools to improve quality of life should be proposed. Community nursing can be a cost-effective tool to positively impact the lives of stroke survivors. This meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively evaluate the effects of community nursing on rehabilitation for stroke survivors.
    Methods: The Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL Plus, Embase, PEDro, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI), WANFANG, and WEIPU databases were comprehensively searched from their inception to April 18, 2023. The revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for RCTs(RoB 2 tool) was used to assess the quality of the included studies. Meta-analysis was conducted using the Stata 12.0 software package and Review Manager v5.3 software.
    Results: A total of 25 randomized controlled trials with 2537 participants were included in the meta-analysis. Compared with the control group, community nursing combined with routine nursing had a significantly superior effect on the Barthel Index(BI), Fugl-Meyer(FMA), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) scores for stroke survivors (BI: MD: 18.48, 95 % CI [16.87, 20.08], P < 0.00001; FMA: MD: 12.61, 95 % CI [10.44, 14.78], P < 0.00001; NIHSS: MD: -2.94, 95 % CI [-3.50, -2.37], P < 0.00001; SAS: MD: -8.19; 95 % CI: [-9.46, -6.92], P < 0.00001; SDS: MD: -6.46 95 % CI [-7.23, -5.70], P < 0.00001). Subgroup analysis demonstrated that routine nursing, health education, exercise rehabilitation nursing and psychological nursing combined with different community nursing measures were significant in rehabilitation for stroke survivors and there was no heterogeneous in the studies of each subgroup(P > 0.1, I
    Conclusion: This meta-analysis demonstrated that community nursing combined with routine nursing might improve activities of daily living, motor function and nerve function, and relieve anxiety and depression in stroke survivors. Overall, community nursing had a significant effect on rehabilitation of stroke survivors. However, this study still has limitations such as the overestimation effects caused by the sample size and the risk of bias caused by interventions. Future research will attempt to overcome these limitations and comprehensively assess the effect of community nursing on the rehabilitation of stroke survivors.

    Abstract Objective: The head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) have higher incidence rates in men, but the reasons are still obscure. This study aimed to investigate the sex-specific gene expression patterns and predict the regulatory mechanisms.
    Design: Data including clinical, survival, RNA-seq, miRNA, and methylation information were derived from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). A total of 131 paired male and female cases were included based on propensity score matching. We concentrated on the prognostic values of the sex-specific pathways enriched by differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and predicted the potential regulatory mechanisms from immune cell infiltration, ceRNA regulatory network, methylation, and differential coexpression analysis.
    Results: Compared with females, males exhibited a lower activity of immune-related functions and higher activities of mitochondrial and ubiquitination functions. The pathway activities were associated with the prognosis of males but less relevant to females. We extracted eight pathways with sex-biased survival patterns, of which five were about down-regulated immune functions, and three were up-regulated pathways (GTP biosynthetic, DNA polymerase, and spliceosomal complex assembly). The five immune pathways were moderately or strongly correlated with the proportion of macrophages. We identified six over-expressed lncRNAs that might be involved in the regulation of the three up-regulated pathways. These lncRNAs exhibited a lower methylation density in males, which might account for their over-expression.
    Conclusions: For HNSCCs, males were characterized by immunosuppression. It was a sign of unfavorable prognosis and might be associated the proportion of macrophages. LncRNAs and methylation might be involved in the regulation of these pathways.

    Abstract Background: Preeclampsia (PE) is a severe complication that occurs during pregnancy and a main cause of perinatal mortality of mothers as well as infants, which is characterized by abnormal placental trophoblast. Previous study reported that aberrant circular RNA (circRNA) was involved in the pathogenesis and progression of PE. Herein, we aimed to investigate the role of circCRIM1 and explore the mechanism of circCRIM1 in PE.
    Methods: The quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was conducted to determine the relative expression of circCRIM1, miR-942-5p, and IL1RAP in tissues and cells. Cell proliferation viability was assessed by both MTT and EdU assays. Cell cycle distribution was analyzed using flow cytometry. Transwell assay was performed to test the cell migration and invasion. The protein levels of CyclinD1, MMP9, MMP2, and IL1RAP were measured by western blot. The putative binding sites between miR-942-5p and circCRIM1 or IL1RAP 3'UTR were verified by dual-luciferase reporter gene assay. Rescue experiment was performed to confirm that miR-942-5p/IL1RAP axis was functional target of circCRIM1 in trophoblast cells.
    Results: CircCRIM1 was upregulated in placenta tissues of PE and its expression was inversely related to infant weight. Overexpression of circCRIM1 suppressed proliferation, migration, and invasion and reduced the protein levels of CyclinD1, MMP9, MMP2 of trophoblast cells, whereas its knockdown exerted the opposite effect. CircCRIM1 could interact with miR-942-5p, and introduction of miR-942-5p partially abated the inhibitory effect of circCRIM1 on trophoblast cell behaviors. IL1RAP was directly targeted and negatively regulated by miR-942-5p. miR-942-5p played its regulatory role on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of trophoblast by IL1RAP. Further analysis showed that circCRIM1 modulated IL1RAP expression via sponging miR-942-5p.
    Conclusion: The results of the present study demonstrated that circCRIM1 inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of trophoblast cells through sponging miR-942-5p and up-regulating IL1RAP, providing a possible new mechanism of PE.

    Abstract Nanoparticles have broad prospects and profound academic significance in cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed to comprehensively summarize the global scientific achievements of nanoparticles in cardiovascular diseases research. Articles on the application of nanoparticles in cardiovascular diseases published from 2002 to 2021 were retrieved from the science citation index expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection, and knowledge maps were generated by Cite Space, VOS viewer, and Hist Cite for further bibliometric analysis. A total of 4321 records were retrieved, and only reviews and articles were retained with a total of 4258 studies. The number of publications on nanoparticles in the cardiovascular field has steadily increased from 2002 to 2021. China and the US contribute the most to this field, producing nearly all the most influential authors and institutions in the top 10 list. The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Harvard University have obtained many high-quality research results. Targeted drug delivery via nanoparticles, myocardial infarction and atherosclerosis are research hotspots. This is the first time to analyze the application of nanoparticles in the cardiovascular field by using multiple bibliometric software. This study provides evidence for researchers to understand the hotspots and directions in this area.
