Abstract Backgroud: Kangaroo mother care (KMC) refers to the mother and baby after the birth of the early start of continuous skin contact way of a newborn care, which is a simple operation, easy controlled and with low cost, no large or high consumption of equipment. So it is very suitable for developing in areas where medical resources are relatively scarce, such as GuiZhou province where is a relatively poor province in China with many ethnic minorities.
Methods: This study selected the pregnant women who gave birth in Liping County, Guizhou Province, China, as the research object, to explore the impact of kangaroo mother care on the physiologic status of newborns in liping county, Guizhou Province.
Results: A total of 347 hospitalized parturient women were divided into the KMC group and the control group. The results showed that the KMC group showed obvious advantages in stabilizing newborn vital signs, health indicators, promoting the success rate of breastfeeding and reducing newborn pain.
Conclusions: Research shows that kangaroo mother care is beneficial to postpartum maternal and infant health, and has advantages suitable for local characteristics, which is worth further promotion in minority areas of Guizhou Province.

Abstract When discussing the association between birth weight and air pollution, previous studies mainly focus on the maternal trimester-specific exposures during pregnancy, whereas the possible associations between birth weight and weekly-specific exposures have been largely neglected. We conducted a nested 1:4 matched case-control study in Jinan, China to examine the weekly-specific associations during pregnancy between maternal fine particulate matter (aerodynamic diameter < 2.5 μm, PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) exposure and birth weight, which is under a representative scenario of very high pollution levels. Ambient air monitoring data from thirteen monitoring stations and daily mean temperature data for Jinan during 2013–2016 were continuously collected. Birth data were obtained from the largest maternity and child care hospital of this city during 2014–2016. Individual exposures to PM2.5, NO2, and SO2 during pregnancy were estimated using an inverse distance weighting method. Birth weight for gender-, gestational age-, and parity-specific standard score (BWGAP z-score) was calculated as the outcome of interest. Distributed lag non-linear models (DLNMs) were applied to estimate weekly-specific relationship between maternal air pollutant exposures and birth weight. For an increase of per inter-quartile range in maternal PM2.5 exposure concentration during pregnancy, the BWGAP z-score decreased significantly during the 27th–33th gestational weeks with the strongest association in the 30th gestational weeks (standard deviation units decrease in BWGAP z-score: −0.049, 95% CI: −0.080 −0.017, in three-pollutant model). No significant association between maternal weekly NO2 or SO2 BWGAP z-score was observed. In conclusion, this study provides evidence that maternal PM2.5 exposure during the 27th–33th gestational weeks may reduce the birth weight in the context of very high pollution level of PM2.5.

Abstract Aim: This study aimed to summarize case reports of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) caused by piperacillin and explore their effects on human organs in real-world settings.
Method: Case reports of piperacillin ADRs were collected by searching databases such as PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang, and VIP from inception to December 2022.
Results: A total of 170 patients were ultimately included. The results revealed that ADRs caused by piperacillin were primarily associated with the entire body, followed by the blood system, skin and soft tissues, and the nervous system. The most frequently reported cases included anaphylactic shock, drug fever, rash, and thrombocytopenia. The most severe ADRs were identified as anaphylactic shock and bullous epidermal necrolysis. Furthermore, a comparison was made between systemic adverse reactions caused by piperacillin as a single drug and two composite preparations of piperacillin/β-lactamase inhibitor. ADRs not mentioned in the instructions included convulsions or hallucinations and Kounis syndrome (KS).
Conclusion: This review suggests that the most severe ADRs associated with piperacillin are toxic epidermal necrolysis and anaphylactic shock. Rare ADRs caused by piperacillin, such as myoclonic jerks, hallucinations, and KS, were identified. The most common symptom with domestic preparations of piperacillin/sulbactam and piperacillin sodium was dyspnea.
