Materials and methods: The types and volumes of dental care provided to the adult population with infectious diseases in a multidisciplinary hospital have been analyzed.
Results: The study showed that dentists use 49 types of services when treating adults with infectious diseases, which corresponds to 29.88% of the compulsory medical insurance classifier in Moscow. Provided services can be conditionally divided into 4 groups: consultation, diagnostic, preventive and medicinal manipulations. The share of consulting services corresponds to 18.16±0.41% of the total volume of services provided; on average patients made 320.8 visits to the dentist's doctors per year, which corresponds to 2.38 visits for each patient. The proportion of medicinal manipulations, diagnostic and preventive services corresponds to 68.64±0.49%, 7.02±0.27% and 6.17±0.26%, respectively. Services related to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa and salivary glands dominate with 69.3%, on average 5.51 services are provided per visit.
Conclusion: The compulsory medical insurance program for the city of Moscow should provide services for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental diseases, provided by doctors specializing in «dentistry», for patients with infectious diseases who are undergoing treatment in inpatient conditions.

Abstract One of the essential tasks of sustainable forest management is to maintain native biodiversity. Primary forest research is one of the ways to understand what this biodiversity is. Matherials and methods. The primary, as confirmed by their land-use history and structural peculiarities, mesic dark-conifer forests remain in Visim and Pechora–Ilych nature biosphere reserves (boreal and sub-boreal zones respectively, the Ural Mountains, Russian Federation). We compared the primary forests and post fire 100-year small-leaved deciduous forests by diversity of vascular flora and soil invertebrate macrofauna. Results and discussion. The diversity of some functional groups of species (low boreal herbs, earthworms) in post fire forests is lower than in primary forests, the research shows. These species largely depend on deadwood and other tree-related microhabitats common in the primary forests but not so in the 100-year post fire forests. Repeated fires at intervals of several decades, as is the case with the use of prescribed fires in forest management, will be expected to reduce the biodiversity quality of these specialist species. Additionally, we revealed that post fire forest flora is more synanthropic in the woodland of a small area (Visim reserve) than in the intact forest landscape (Pechora–Ilych reserve). It demonstrates that, within extensive woodlands, native forests are more resilient to sporadic stand-replacing disturbances than small woodlands. Conclusion. Strict conservation of intact forest landscapes is necessary as they serve as large buffer areas around the remaining primary forests to maintain native biodiversity.

Abstract The article indicates that in modern society the trends of reevaluation and redefinition of moral and social limits, regulating legitimate and non-legitimate pleasure. The popularity of programs of decreasing of narcotization harm is increasing to the prejudice of comprehensive conception of necessity of social prevention of drug abuse as a system of influence of public authorities and institutions of civil society with purpose to minimize drug effect. The modeling of such exposition pressure directing individual to "drug-independent" behavior by all totality of mechanisms society dispose is one of major tasks of drug abuse control. The article is targeted to reveal qualitative quantitative characteristics of public opinion in Russia and parameters of monitoring of public opinion on the basis of content analysis of secondary sources and qualitative analysis of sociological surveys. It is concluded that efforts information of public opinion are to be related to targets and tasks available in sphere of drug control and belonging to the structure of targets and tasks of public health and social hygiene. The core content of public opinion should not have a character of exclusively suggestion of drugs but is to reflect behavioral readiness of citizen to implement social control of narcotism.

Abstract Percutaneous spinal endoscopy is used for the treatment of disorders of the lumbar spine, as it has several advantages over traditional surgical methods. The performance of percutaneous spinal endoscopy is not possible without applying anesthesia methods. Two types (local and general) of anesthesia are used for percutaneous spinal endoscopy. Both, local and general anesthesia approaches contribute to safety in surgical procedures. Although it is believed that the method of local anesthesia has more benefits over general anesthesia, such as lowering the risk of postoperative neurological complications in a patient, the literature on the topic is inconclusive. The study aims to perform a comparative analysis of the two anesthesia methods using a prospective case-control design. Patients were divided into two groups: those who received local anesthesia (LA) (20 patients), and those who underwent general anesthesia (GA) (20 patients). As a result of the study, 40% of the patients experienced moderate pain and 5% of the patients experienced excruciating pain intraoperatively in the LA group. Although Visual Analog Scale and Oswestry Disability Index scores improved more rapidly in LA group, at the 12-month check-up point there was no significant difference between cases and controls. Nevertheless, there were postoperative complications such as nerve root injury in 10% of the patients; nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness in 15% of the patients in the GA group, and an insignificant or no such complications in patients of the LA group. The present study demonstrates that LA contributes to more positive short-term outcomes for patients as it facilitates nerve root damage prevention, and has no postoperative side effects on patients' well being.

Abstract Background. One of the pressing aims of today’s natural resource management is its re-orientation to preserving and restoring ecological functions of ecosystems, among which the function of biodiversity maintenance plays an indicator role. The majority of today’s forests have not retained their natural appearance as the result of long-standing human impact. In this connection, refugia studies are becoming particularly interesting, as they give us an insight into the natural appearance of forests. Materials and methods. Studies were performed in dark conifer forests of the Pechora–Ilych reserve, in the lower reaches of the Bol’shaya Porozhnyaya River in 2013 yr. Vegetation data sampling was done at 50 temporary square plots of a fixed size (100 m2) randomly placed within a forest type. A list of plant species with species abundance was made for each forest layer. The overstorey (or tree canopy layer) was denoted by the Latin letter A. The understorey layer (indicated by the letter B) included tree undergrowth and tall shrubs. Ground vegetation was subdivided into the layers C and D. Layer C (field layer) comprised the herbaceous species (herbs, grasses, sedges) and dwarf shrubs together with low shrubs, tree and shrub seedlings. The height of the field layer was defined by the maximal height of the herbaceous species, ferns, and dwarf shrubs; the height varied from several cm to more than 200 cm in the ‘tall-herb’ forest types. Layer D (bottom layer) included cryptogamic species (bryophytes and lichens). Species abundance in the each layer was usually assessed using the Braun-Blanquet cover scale (Braun-Blanquet 1928). The nomenclature used follows Cherepanov’s (1995) for vascular plants, and Ignatov & Afonina’s (1992). Results. The present article contains descriptions of unique tall-herb boreal forests of European Russia preserved in certain refugia which did not experience prolonged anthropogenic impact or any other catastrophes. Comparative research into species and ecological diversity of typical ...

Abstract The results of closed intramedullary osteosynthesis with blocking were analyzed in 180 patients with open (in 22) and closed (in 158 patients) fractures of shin bones fulfilled within the period from 3 days to 3.5 months after trauma. In 16 patients the intramedullary canal was drilled out. The exact reposition of the shin-bone in closed intramedullary osteosynthesis was obtained in 142 patients: the terms of consolidation in this case were (6.4+/-1.3) months. The examination of all the patients in the period from 6 months to 2 years after operation has shown consolidation of the shin-bone fracture in 176 (97.7%) of them.

Abstract Thousands of people visit the riparian forests near the resort, which significantly increases the frequency of forest fires. Our studies have shown that restoration of the environmental and recreational value of the territory takes place in a much shorter time than a full recovery of plant community. Forest fires even with the death of all adults Pitsunda pines are not a basis for reducing ecological and conservation significance of the site, because there is an active restoration of pine and associated species, including rare and endemic.
