Abstract To observe and compare the effects of healthy instruction and Zhiqi granules on lead, calcium, iron, and zinc levels in serum of children with moderately elevated blood lead levels (BLLs). At the same time, the possible mechanisms were discussed. A total of 60 eligible boys aged 4-6 years were selected and divided into two groups (the healthy instruction group and the Zhiqi group) randomly. The boys in the healthy instruction group only received the healthy instruction. Besides the healthy instruction, the boys in the Zhiqi group received 2 g Zhiqi granules orally one time daily. The study lasted for 4 weeks. BLL and serum iron, zinc, and calcium levels of the subjects in the two groups before and after interventions were measured and compared. After the interventions, the BLL in the Zhiqi group lowered significantly, but the decrease of the BLL in the healthy instruction group is not significant, and there was a significant difference in the BLL between the two groups. When the trial was completed, the serum iron level in the Zhiqi group increased significantly, but that in the healthy instruction group changed slightly, and a significant difference was seen between the two groups. There were no significant differences in both serum Ca and Zn levels in these two groups before and after the interventions. Meanwhile, there were no significant differences in serum Ca and Zn levels between the two groups after the interventions. The results suggested that daily intake of Zhiqi granules for 4 weeks together with healthy instruction resulted in a decrease of the BLL and an elevation of the serum iron level.

Abstract To promote the coordinated development of high quality postgraduate education and economy is the realization of all-round construction of the socialist modernization of China power.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2021, this paper constructs the index of graduate education and high-quality economic development respectively, and analyzes it by coupling coordination model, kernel density estimation and spatial Markov chain model. The results show that: first, the postgraduate education and the high economic quality of most provinces in China are matched, but there is a significant difference between the eastern and western regions in their collaborative development; Second, the level of synergistic development between graduate education and high economic quality is low, and the central and northeastern regions are seriously divided, but the differences in synergistic effects between different regions are narrowing.Third, according to the results of trend prediction, there is the coexistence of "beggar-thy-neighbor" and "good-neighborliness", and it is difficult to achieve leapfrog coordinated development. Therefore, it is proposed to pay attention to the high-quality economic development to provide a rich material basis for graduate education, the change of graduate education structure should adapt to the needs of high-quality economic development, and implement different reform measures in different regions to promote the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.

Abstract D-Allulose is a high value rare sugar with multiple physiological functions and commercial potential that can be enzymatically synthesized from D-fructose by D-allulose 3-epimerase (DAEase). Poor catalytic activity and thermostability of DAEase prevent the industrial production of D-allulose. In this work, rational design was applied to a previously identified DAEase from

Abstract Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) and stimulator of interferon genes (STING, also known as TMEM173) constitute the major signaling pathway in vertebrates that senses non-self DNA and elicits potent immune responses. At the core of this pathway, cGAS senses double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and synthesizes cyclic GMP-AMP (cGAMP). cGAMP serves as a second messenger that relays its signal to downstream innate immune responses through STING. One of the major consequences triggered by the cGAS-STING pathway is the production of antiviral cytokines of the type I interferon family, which in turn induce expression of hundreds of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) with diverse antiviral functions. Recent studies have also revealed functional homologs across phylogenetic kingdoms with innate defense functions, suggesting an ancient evolutionary origin of cGAS-STING signaling. Aberrant activation of the cGAS-STING pathway by host DNA can lead to sterile inflammation associated with tissue damage, degeneration as well as premature aging. In this primer, we will introduce the basic principles of cGAS-STING signaling in the vertebrate system and highlight recent discoveries regarding its connection to other fundamental cellular processes in the context of human diseases.

Abstract The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase plays an important role in tumor formation and growth by mediating cell growth and other physiological processes. Therefore, EGFR is a promising target for the treatment of cancer. In this work, we combined ligand-based and structure-based virtual screening methods to identify novel EGFR inhibitors from a library of more than 103 thousand compounds. We first obtained hundreds of compounds with similar physiochemical properties through 3D molecular shape and electrostatic similarity screening with potent inhibitors AEE788 and Afatinib as queries. Next, we identified compounds with strong binding affinities to the EGFR pocket through molecular docking, which makes good use of the structure information of the receptor. After molecular scaffold analysis, our bioassay confirmed 13 compounds with EGFR inhibitory activity and three compounds had IC
