Abstract Copper is widely used in agriculture and aquaculture due to its high disinfection properties and relatively low cost. However, the increase in copper concentration due to evaporation can lead to water reservoir pollution, which can harm the health of consumers. The present study aimed to determine the role of sulfated polysaccharides (SPs) extracted from Sargassum tenerimum algae in reducing lesions caused by the heavy metal copper. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) were used as a human model in five treatments. The negative and positive control groups were fed a diet containing zero percent of SPs, while the experimental groups were fed 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% of SPs in three treatments for 56 days, finally CuSO

Abstract The ongoing global pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has prompted worldwide vaccine development. Several vaccines have been authorized by WHO, FDA, or MOH of different countries. However, issues such as need for cold chain, price, and most importantly access problems have limited vaccine usage in some nations especially developing countries. Moreover, the vast global demand justifies further attempts for vaccine development. Multi-epitope polypeptide vaccines enjoy several key features including safety and lower production and transfer costs and could be designed by

Abstract Polyurethane (PU) is one of the most well-known polymer coatings because of its favorable characteristics, which include its low density, nontoxicity, nonflammability, longevity, adhesion, simple manufacture, flexibility, and hardness. However, PU does come with several major drawbacks, among which are poor mechanical properties as well as low thermal and chemical stability, particularly in the high-temperature mode, where becomes gets flammable and loses adhesion ability. The limitations have inspired researchers to develop a PU composite to improve the weaknesses by adding different reinforcements. Magnesium hydroxide, having the ability to be produced with exceptional properties such as flammability, has consistently attracted the interest of researchers. Additionally, silica nanoparticles with high strength and hardness are one of the excellent reinforcements of polymers these days. The hydrophobic, physical, and mechanical properties of pure polyurethane and the composite type (nano, micro, and hybrid) fabricated with the drop casting method were examined in this study. 3-Aminopropyl triethoxysilane was applied as a functionalized agent. To confirm that hydrophilic particles turned into hydrophobic, FTIR analysis was carried out. The impact of size, percentage, and kind of fillers on different properties of PU/Mg(OH)2-SiO2 was then investigated using different analyses including spectroscopy and mechanical and hydrophobicity tests. The resultant observations demonstrated that different surface topographies can be obtained from the presence of particles of different sizes and percentages on the hybrid composite's surface. Surface roughness allowed for exceptionally high water contact angles, which confirmed the hybrid polymer coatings' superhydrophobic properties. According to the particle size and content, the distribution of fillers in the matrix also improved the mechanical properties.

Results showed a significant decrease in the activity level of ALT enzymes (39–16 U/mL), AST (67–46 U/mL), and ALP (485–237 U/mL), confirming the results obtained from histopathological studies in CuSO4 exposed groups. The addition of SPs to the diet resulted in a significant reduction (sig < 0.05) of mortalities due to the decrease of tissue damage. Additionally, due to the anti-inflammatory properties and the protective effect of SPs, a significant decrease (sig < 0.05) was observed in the relative expression of Il-1β and Tnf-α genes.

Abstract Objective: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical cancer, the 4
Methods: In this study, several immunoinformatic and computational tools were administered to identify and design a vaccine construct with dual prophylactic and therapeutic applications consisting of several epitope regions on L2, E6, and E7 proteins of HPV16.
Results: Immunodominant epitope regions (aa 12-23 and 78-78 of L2 protein, aa 11-27 of E6 protein, and aa 70-89 of E7 protein) were employed, which offered adequate immunogenicity to induce immune responses. Resuscitation-promoting factors (RpfB and RpfE) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis were integrated in two separate constructs as TLR4 agonists to act as vaccine adjuvants. Following physiochemical and structural evaluations carried out by various bioinformatics tools, the designed constructs were modeled and validated, resulting in two 3D structures. Molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulations suggested stable ligand-receptor interactions between the designed construct and TLR4.
Conclusion: Ultimately, this study led to suggest the designed construct as a potential vaccine candidate with both prophylactic and therapeutic applications against HPV by promoting Th1, Th2, CTL, and B cell immune responses, which should be further confirmed in experimental studies.

Abstract Purpose:: This study proposes a novel convolutional neural network (CNN) structure in conjunction with classical machine learning models, utilizing the raw electroencephalography (EEG) signal as the input to diagnose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The proposed EEG-based approach does not require transformation or artifact rejection techniques. Methods:: In the first step, the suggested method uses raw EEG to train a CNN to diagnose ADHD. Then, the feature maps from different layers of the trained CNN are extracted and used to train some classical classifiers such as support vector machine (SVM), logistic regression (LR), random forest (RF), etc. This study benefits from an extended version of a dataset acquired from 61 participants diagnosed with ADHD and 60 individuals in control group, age 7 through 12 years old. Results:: The initial CNN structure (without further use of feature maps) achieved an accuracy of 86.33±2.64% in 5-fold cross-validation scheme on training set, which is superior to results reported in previous studies. However, in order to increase the efficacy of the classifiers we used various feature representations across different CNN layers and after a rigorous evaluation of candidate classifiers, logistic regression provided an accuracy of 91.16±0.03% in training epochs using 5-fold cross-validation scheme and 95.83% in ADHD identification in unseen epochs, were achieved. Also, other metrics such as precision, sensitivity, F1-score and receiver of operating characteristic (ROC) were presented for better comparison of different hybrid methods. Conclusion:: The suggested method for detection of ADHD in children shows high performance in different metrics such as accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity, which is superior to previously reported results.

Abstract The pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has affected health care service practices worldwide. Therefore, a global reaction to prepare health care systems is mandatory. Preventing the transmission of this virus during medical and dental procedures producing airborne particles and droplets, could be considered as one of the main venues in prevention of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission in health care facilities. To the best of our knowledge, no intervention has been approved for this purpose, so the major suggestion in this regard is using personal preventive equipment (PPE) and similar measures as well as other sanitizing practices. Since we do not know how long we should face this universal issue, using antecedent pharmacotherapies for reducing oral-respiratory secretions to combat this virus might play a role in this regard. Given that currently there is no definitive cure for COVID-19, so we hypothesize that, considering drug solutions to reduce saliva and droplet production may be helpful in controlling Coronavirus spread during aerosol and respiratory droplet producing procedures.
