    Abstract Background: On 12 May 2012, over 200 college students with acute diarrhoea were reported to the Guizhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention. We conducted an investigation to identify the agent and mode of transmission and to recommend control measures.
    Methods: A suspected case was a person at the college with onset of ≥ two of the following symptoms: diarrhoea (more than three loose stools in 24 hours), abdominal pain, vomiting or fever (> 37.5C) between 6 and 15 May 2012. A confirmed case also had a positive Aeromonas hydrophila culture from a stool sample. A retrospective-cohort study of 902 students compared attack rates (AR) by dining place, meals and food history. We reviewed the implicated premise, its processes and preparation of implicated food.
    Results: We identified 349 suspected cases (AR = 14%) and isolated Aeromonas hydrophila from three stools of 15 cases. Students who ate in cafeteria A were more likely to be ill compared to those eating in other places (relative risk [RR]: 3.1, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.0-4.8). The cohort study implicated cold cucumber (RR: 2.6, 95% CI: 2.0-3.3) and houttuynia dishes (RR: 1.8, 95% CI: 1.4-2.3). Environmental investigation showed that vegetables were washed in polluted water from a tank close to the sewage ditch, then left at 30 °C for two hours before serving. The Escherichia coli count of the tank was well above the standard for drinking-water.
    Conclusion: This outbreak of Aeromonas hydrophila was most probably caused by salad ingredients washed in contaminated tank water. We recommended enhancing training of foodhandlers, ensuring tanks and sewerage systems comply with appropriate standards and adequate monitoring of drinking-water sources.

    Abstract The proliferation of online violence has given rise to a spate of malignant incidents, necessitating a renewed focus on the identification of cyberbullying comments. Text classification lies at the heart of efforts to tackle this pernicious problem. The identification of cyberbullying comments presents unique challenges that call for innovative solutions. In contrast to traditional text classification tasks, cyberbullying comments are often accompanied by subtle and arbitrary expressions that can confound even the most sophisticated classification networks, resulting in low recognition accuracy and effectiveness. To address this challenge, a novel approach is proposed that leverages the BERT pre-training model for word embedding to retain the hidden semantic information in the text. Building on this foundation, the BiSRU++ model which combines attentional mechanisms is used to further extract contextual features of comments. A multi-task learning framework is employed for joint training of sentiment analysis and cyberbullying detection to improve the model's classification accuracy and generalization ability. The proposed model is no longer entirely reliant on a sensitive word dictionary, and experimental results demonstrate its ability to better understand semantic information compared to traditional models, facilitating the identification of potential online cyberbullying comments.

    Abstract Ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) breaks the diffraction limit and allows imaging microvasculature at micrometric resolution while preserving the penetration depth. Frame rate plays an important role for high-quality ULM imaging, but there is still a lack of review and investigation of the frame rate effects on ULM. This work aims to clarify how frame rate influences the performance of ULM, including the effects of microbubble detection, localization and tracking. The performance of ULM was evaluated using an in vivo rat brain dataset (15.6 MHz, 3 tilted plane waves (-5°, 0°, +5°), at a compounded frame rate of 1000 Hz) with different frame rates. Quantification methods, including Fourier ring correlation and saturation parameter, were applied to analyze the spatial resolution and reconstruction efficiency, respectively. In addition, effects on each crucial step in ULM processing were further analyzed. Results showed that when frame rates dropped from 1000 Hz to 250 Hz, the spatial resolution deteriorated from 9.9 μm to 15.0 μm. Applying a velocity constraint was able to improve the ULM performance, but inappropriate constraint may artificially result in high apparent resolution. For the dataset, compared with the results of 1000 Hz frame rate, the velocity was underestimated at 100 Hz with 47.18% difference and the saturation was reduced from 55.00% at 1000 Hz to 43.34% at 100 Hz. Analysis showed that inadequate frame rate generated unreliable microbubble detection, localization and tracking as well as incomplete track reconstruction, resulting in the deterioration in spatial resolution, the underestimation in velocity measurement and the decrease in saturation. Finally, a guidance of determining the frame rate requirement was discussed by considering the required spatial sampling points based on vessel morphology, clutter filtering method, tracking algorithm and acquisition time, which provides indications for future clinical application of ULM method.

    Abstract MRX-8 is a novel polymyxin for carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative infections that has been recently evaluated in Phase I clinical trials. Herein, its pharmacokinetics (PK) and nephrotoxicity in rats are reported for the first time. This study aimed at pre-clinical PK and safety assessments. An LC-MS/MS method was developed to determine concentrations of MRX-8 and its major deacylation metabolite, MRX-8039, in rat plasma. Animals were administered a single dose of MRX-8 (2, 4, 6, and 8 mg/kg) or comparator polymyxin B (PMB) (4 and 8 mg/kg) to compare the kidney injury known for the polymyxin drug class. Nephrotoxicity was evaluated using serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) biomarkers, and renal histopathology. In rats, MRX-8 displayed linear PK within the range of 2-8 mg/kg, with approximately 4% of MRX-8 converted to MRX-8039. MRX-8 induced only mild increases in serum creatinine and BUN levels, with an apparent decrease in nephrotoxicity within 24 h, in contrast to PMB, which exhibited a significant and more persistent toxicity. Additional nephrotoxicity biomarkers (plasma NGAL and urinary NGAL, KIM-1, and TIMP-1) have confirmed attenuated MRX-8 kidney injury.     Abstract After hydraulic fracturing, the geometric characteristics of rock morphology is a crucial means for evaluating the effectiveness of fracture stimulation in enhancing production. In order to quantitatively analyze the surface undulations of marine and continental shale morphology further following hydraulic fracturing, a method for calculating the three-dimensional fractal dimension of fracture surfaces based on optical scanning technology is proposed. This method involves the acquisition of point cloud data using a 3D surface scanner. The obtained data are subsequently subjected to smoothing processes, followed by the reconstruction of the three-dimensional representation of the fractures. The box-counting dimension algorithm is employed to calculate the fractal characteristics of post-fracture morphology. The research results indicate that marine shale, due to its higher proportion of brittle minerals such as quartz and calcite, predominantly exhibits vertically oriented longitudinal fractures, perpendicular to the minimum horizontal stress. The average initiation pressure is 8% higher compared to continental shale, with an average fractal dimension of 2.24397. In contrast, continental shale, characterized by its high clay content and the development of natural fractures and bedding planes, is more prone to capturing hydraulic fracture features, resulting in predominantly single transverse shear fractures. The average fractal dimension is 2.087065, which is 7% lower than that of marine shale. These research findings offer a certain degree of guidance for the optimization of fracturing process parameters for different types of reservoirs.
