Abstract The anaerobic co-fermentation of iron bound phosphorus (P) compounds (FePs)-bearing sludge with corn gluten meal (CGM) and the underlying mechanisms associated with P release and volatile fatty acids (VFAs) production were investigated. The optimal CGM dosage for P release was 0.6 g chemical oxygen demand (COD)/g total suspended solid (TSS), which resulted in an increase in efficiency from 7 % (control sample) to 39 %. However, the optimal CGM dosage for VFAs production was 0.4 g COD/g TSS, and the yield increased from 37.4 (control sample) to 331.7 mg COD/g volatile suspended solid. The addition of CGM enhanced hydrolysis and acidogenesis by supplying abundant organic substrates to promote the growth of hydrolytic and acidogenic bacteria. A higher VFAs/ammonium-nitrogen ratio resulted in a lower pH, which promoted greater FePs dissolution and P release from the sludge. This study provides novel insights into the effects of CGM on P release and VFAs production.

Abstract Background: Acute pancreatitis poses a significant threat in the emergency department due to its rapid and dangerous progression. Without timely and effective treatment measures, there is a heightened risk of advancing to multiple organ failure, posing a serious threat to the life safety of patients.
Objective: This study aims to investigate the impact of graded emergency nursing on patients with acute pancreatitis.
Design: A randomized controlled experiment was conducted to assess the effectiveness of graded emergency nursing.
Setting: The study was conducted in the Emergency Department of Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital University.
Participants: A total of 112 patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and admitted to our hospital from June 2021 to December 2022 were randomly assigned to either the observation or control group, with 56 patients in each.
Interventions: Patients in the control group received standard emergency nursing care, while those in the observation group underwent graded emergency nursing.
Primary outcome measures: The study assessed (1) triage time, waiting time, and treatment time, (2) the correct rate of diagnosis and the success rate of rescue, (3) functional status score, and (4) patient satisfaction with nursing care.
Results: Compared to the control group, patients in the observation group experienced significantly shorter triage time, waiting time, and treatment time (P < .05). Additionally, the observation group exhibited higher correct rates of diagnosis and success rates of rescue (P < .05). The functional status score in the observation group showed improvement (P < .05), and patients in the observation group reported higher satisfaction with nursing care (P < .05).
Conclusions: Graded emergency nursing proves effective in reducing waiting times for diagnosis and treatment in acute pancreatitis patients, enhancing treatment success rates, and improving overall nursing quality. These findings hold valuable implications for clinical application and promotion.

Abstract Piezoresistive layered two-dimensional (2D) crystals offer intriguing promise as pressure sensors for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) due to their remarkable strain-induced conductivity modulation. However, integration of the conventional chemical vapor deposition grown 2D thin films onto a micromachined silicon platform requires a complex transfer process, which degrades their strain-sensing performance. In this study, we present a differential pressure sensor built on a transfer-free piezoresistive PdSe

Abstract Diesel particulate filter (DPF) is considered as an effective method to control particulate matter (PM) emissions from diesel engines, which is included in the mandatory installation list by more and more national/regional laws and regulations, such as CHINA VI, Euro VI, and EPA Tier3. Due to the limited capacity of DPF to contain PM, the manufacturer introduced a method of treating deposited PM by oxidation, which is called regeneration. This paper comprehensively summarizes the most advanced regeneration technology, including filter structure, new catalyst formula, accurate soot prediction, safe and reliable regeneration strategy, uncontrolled regeneration and its control methods. In addition, due to the change of working conditions in the regeneration process, the additional emissions during regeneration are discussed in this paper. The DPF is not only the aftertreatment device but also can be combined with diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and exhaust recirculation (EGR). In addition, the impact of DPF modification on the original system of some old models has been reasonably discussed in order to achieve emission targets.

Abstract Turmeric (Curcuma longa), a typical source with recognized anti-inflammatory activity, is one such medicine-food homology source, yet its anti-inflammatory mechanisms and specific component combinations remain unclear. In this study, a net fishing method combining bio-affinity ultrafiltration and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (AUF-LC/MS) was employed and 13 potential COX-2 inhibitors were screened out from C. longa. 5 of them (C1, 17, 20, 22, 25) were accurately isolated and identified.
