Abstract Objectives: Andrews six elements was used to explore the possible influences of gender, extraction/non-extraction, and different bracket types on the evaluation of orthodontic treatment outcome.
Methods: Digital data from 320 selected orthodontic cases in Kunming Medical University Affiliated Stomatological Hospital during the period of 2016-2020 were divided into groups in accordance with gender, tooth extraction, and type of orthodontic brackets (DamonQ self-ligating brackets and MBT brackets). Measurement was performed using Andrews six elements as standard. The mean and standard deviation of each individual score and total score for different groups were calculated and statistically tested.
Results: The differences in total scores between female and male cases exhibited no statistical significance (
Conclusions: Digital 3D models can be used in the clinical retrospective studies of patients after orthodontic treatment. These models can be measured repeatedly and have clinical application value. For cases with incomplete orthodontic treatment, the control of the anteroposterior position of the incisor and the width of the arch of the upper tooth is crucial. Total treatment efficiency between female and male cases exhibited no difference, but the skeletal width change of the maxilla between extraction and non-extraction cases may exert an effect on cases with complete orthodontic treatment. The group that used DamonQ self-ligating brackets may achieve good adjustment of the bucco-lingual border change of the arch.

Abstract Background: Heatstroke is a life-threatening disease clinically characterized by central nervous system dysfunction, multiorgan failure, and extreme hyperthermia. There are no reports about eye involvement in heat stroke. Here, we report a rare case of multilayered retinal hemorrhages in a patient with heatstroke.
Case presentation: A 55-year-old male with a one-month history of blurry vision in both eyes presented at our department after suffering from heatstroke. His visual acuity was 5/20 OD and 10/20 OS. Fundus examination revealed retinal hemorrhages in both eyes. Fundus autofluorescence images and near-infrared reflectance images revealed well-defined retinal lesions. Optical coherence tomography helped to accurately locate the different layers of the lesions, including the nerve fiber layer, sub-inner limiting membrane, outer plexiform layer, ellipsoid zone and Henle fiber layer hemorrhages. We followed up with the patient for 8 months. At the last follow-up, his visual acuity was 20/20 in both eyes, and fundus examination showed that retinal hemorrhages were almost completely absorbed.
Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first report on multilayered retinal hemorrhages secondary to heat stroke. Intraretinal and preretinal hemorrhages can gradually resolve, and the patient's vision will improve with the absorption of the retinal hemorrhages. Multimodal imaging may help to reveal additional details about retinal lesions and monitor the course of the disease.

Abstract Terson syndrome refers to intraocular haemorrhage that occurs due to subarachnoid bleeding associated with an acute increase in intracranial pressure. No previous study has reported a delayed macular hole (MH) secondary to Terson syndrome. A 17-year-old boy visited our department and presented with vitreous bleeding and a history of subarachnoid haemorrhage. Sub-internal limiting membrane (ILM) haemorrhage with ILM detachment and intraretinal haemorrhage were detected during pars plana vitrectomy. Additionally, a delayed MH was detected 1 week after the surgery. There was no sign of MH closure during a 2-month follow-up. Subsequently, an MH massage was performed to close the MH. Our findings suggest that a delayed MH can occur secondary to Terson syndrome. Elevated hydrodynamic pressure and hydrostatic pressure, which are caused by sub-ILM and intraretinal haemorrhages of the fovea, contribute to the formation of an MH. Additionally, ILM peeling may cause damage to the macula and facilitate the formation of MHs. Although the MH may close by itself, early surgical intervention is recommended when there is no sign that the MH will close spontaneously because a prolonged MH can lead to retinal damage.

Abstract Abstract To improve energy-saving management, the energy efficiency grade (EEG) was introduced by the Chinese government in the 2000s and mainly implemented for white goods (WGs) in early stages. However, due to the lack of actual statistics, how effective the promotion of high EEG WGs has been in China is still not clear. The China Energy Efficiency Grade (CEEG) of WGs dataset described here comprises (i) EEG-related data on 5 kinds of WGs at the regional (national, provincial) and household levels in China and (ii) predictions of future average EEG trends. By web crawling, retrieving and processing in SQL, the average EEG data weighted by sales in 30 provinces in mainland China from 2012 to 2019 are provided. Household WG survey data, including household information and average EEG, were collected by distributing questionnaires to 1327 households in Beijing, China. The CEEG dataset will facilitate the advancement of research on household energy consumption, household appliance consumer choice, and the assessment of energy efficiency-related policies.

Abstract ObjectiveTo determine the difference of serum neutralizing antibody levels in healthy persons following the vaccination of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.MethodsHealth care workers that received inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines were enrolled in Sichuan provincial people's hospital from January to December 2021. All participants were classified into four groups according to the number and time of vaccination, which were groups of 28 days after the second dose, 180 days after the second dose, 28 days after the third dose and 150 days after the third dose. Serum neutralizing antibody was quantitatively detected by chemiluminescence method. Furthermore, the serum neutralizing antibody levels were compared within and between groups by gender, age and body mass index(BMI).ResultsA total of 349 participants were enrolled in this study, including 113 males and 236 females. The positive rates of neutralizing antibody in the groups of 28 days after the second dose, 180 days after the second dose, 28 days after the third dose and 150 days after the third dose were 74.0%, 25.7%, 100.0% and 100.0%, respectively. In the four groups, neutralizing antibody levels were 10.38 (5.76, 24.00) AU·mL-1, 4.18 (3.00, 6.18) AU·mL-1, 41.18 (25.80, 116.21) AU·mL-1 and 33.33 (18.09, 69.12) AU·mL-1, respectively. The positive rate of neutralizing antibody significantly differed across the groups (P<0.001). Furthermore, neutralizing antibody level in the third dose groups were significantly higher than that in the second dose groups (P<0.001). Neutralization antibody level in young people (<45 years old) was significantly higher than that in middle-aged and elderly people (≥45 years old) in the groups of 180 days after the second dose and 28 days after the third dose (P<0.05). Additionally, neutralization antibody level in normal weight participants was significantly higher than that in overweight and obese participants in the group of 28 days after the second dose (P<0.05). However, no significant difference was found in all ...

Abstract The purpose of drug discovery is to identify new drugs, and the solubility of drug molecules is an important physicochemical property in medicinal chemistry, that plays a crucial role in drug discovery. In solubility prediction, high-precision computational methods can significantly reduce the experimental costs and time associated with drug development. Therefore, artificial intelligence technologies have been widely used for solubility prediction. This study utilized the attention layer in mechanism in the deep learning model to consider the atomic-level features of the molecules, and used gated recurrent neural networks to aggregate vectors between layers. It also utilized molecular fragment technology to divide the complete molecule into pairs of fragments, extracted characteristics from each fragment pair, and finally fused the characteristics to predict the solubility of drug molecules. We compared and evaluated our method with five existing models using two performance evaluation indicators, demonstrating that our method has better performance and greater robustness.
