Abstract To investigate the application future of Fu Chan Xue Jing during bleeding after abortion and to observe the clinical effect analysis of Fu Chan Xue Jing on the treatment of bleeding after medical abortion. 86 patients who were willing to perform medical abortion in Women and infants Hospital of Zhengzhou from December 2013 to November 2014 were randomly divided into two groups, with 43 cases in either observation group or control group. Basic medical abortion was conducted on the patients in control group, apart from which Fu Chan Xue Jing was added on the patients in observation group. Meanwhile, the vaginal bleeding volume and vaginal bleeding time for patients in both groups were observed and compared. The treatment results showed that the vaginal bleeding volume for patients in treatment group was lower than that in control group, showing statistically significant difference (P<0.05); the average time (7.5 ± 1.3 d) of vaginal bleeding for patients in treatment group was shorter than that (13.5 ± 4.1d) in control group, showing statistically significant difference for the data of the two groups (P<0.05). Fu Chan Xue Jing is conducive to reduce the bleeding after abortion and help to recovery the normal menstruation faster, which has good effects to prevent the bleeding volume after medical abortion and control the bleeding time, worth popularizing on clinic.

Abstract The multiple functions of the lysosome, including degradation, nutrient sensing, signaling, and gene regulation, enable the lysosome to regulate lipid metabolism at different levels. In this review, I summarize the recent studies on lysosomal regulation of lipid metabolism and the alterations of the lysosome functions in the livers affected by nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). NAFLD is a highly prevalent lipid metabolic disorder. The progression of NAFLD leads to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and other severe liver diseases, and thus the prevention and treatments of NAFLD progression are critically needed. Targeting the lysosome is a promising strategy. I also discuss the current manipulations of the lysosome functions in the preclinical studies of NAFLD and propose my perspectives on potential future directions.

Abstract Introduction: The survival time of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals or patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is influenced by multiple factors. Studying survival and influential factors after antiretroviral therapy (ART) contributes to improving treatment protocols, management strategies, and prognosis for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).
Methods: This retrospective cohort study collected case data and follow-up records of PLWHA who received ART in Dazu District, Chongqing City, between 2007 and 2022. Cumulative survival rates were calculated using life tables. Survival curves were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method. Uni-variable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards models analyzed factors influencing survival.
Results: The study included 5,237 PLWHA receiving ART. Within the first year of ART initiation, 146 AIDS-related deaths occurred, accounting for 29.49% (146/495) of total deaths. Cumulative survival rates at 1, 5, 10, and 15 years were 0.97, 0.90, 0.85, and 0.79, respectively. During the observation period, male patients who received ART had a 1.89 times higher risk of death compared to females (aHR, 1.89; 95%; CI, 1.50-2.37). Patients aged ≥60 years had a 3.44-fold higher risk of death than those aged <30 years (aHR, 3.44; 95% CI, 1.22-9.67). Injection drug users (aHR, 4.95; 95% CI, 2.00-12.24) had a higher risk of death than those with heterosexual (aHR, 1.60; 95% CI, 0.69-3.72) and homosexual transmission. Patients with a baseline CD4+ T lymphocyte count <200 cells/μL (aHR, 8.02; 95% CI, 4.74-13.57) and between 200 and 349 cells/μL (aHR, 2.14; 95% CI, 1.26-3.64) had a higher risk of death than those with ≥350 cells/μL. Patients with ART initiation at WHO clinical stage IV had a 2.48-fold higher risk of death than those at stage I (aHR, 2.48; 95% CI, 1.17-5.23).
Conclusion: The first year following ART initiation is critical in HIV/AIDS treatment, emphasizing the need for intensified follow-up and monitoring to facilitate successful immune system reconstruction. Older age, male sex, injection drug use, baseline CD4+ T lymphocyte count <200 cells/μL, and WHO clinical stage IV are associated with an increased risk of death. Tailored treatment and management strategies should be implemented for patient populations at higher risk of mortality and with a poorer prognosis.

Abstract Red cabbage anthocyanins may provide health benefits that may be associated with antiaging. The protection of red cabbage anthocyanin-rich extract (ARE) and cyanidin-3-diglucoside-5-glucoside-rich extract (CY3D5G) against age-related cognitive dysfunction was investigated in normal aging mice (male C57BL/6J, 12 months old) administered orally for 12 weeks. Behavioral tests showed that ARE and CY3D5G significantly decreased cognitive impairment (

Abstract Poor dispersion stability of nutritious rice bran milk limits its production. In this study, the dispersion stability of rice bran milk after heating at 95 °C for 0-5 min was investigated. Visual observation revealed improved dispersion stability and changes in settling behavior with heat durations. After heating for 5 min, the serum turbidity increased from 1.86 to 2.95. The centrifugal sedimentation rate unexpectedly rose from 9.25% to 29.18%, indicating an increase in volumetric particle concentration. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed that heating induced starch gelatinization and protein denaturation in rice bran milk, leading to increased volumetric particle concentration. Rice bran protein aggregates after heating were developed and embedded in the gel-like network composed of swollen starch granules. These results suggested that rice bran milk, due to thermal-induced alteration in biomacromolecules, may behave progressively from free settling to hindered settling to compression settling, resulting in improved dispersion stability.

Abstract Background: Early postoperative inflammatory small bowel obstruction (EPISBO) is easy to be complicated after colorectal cancer surgery. Both intestinal obstruction catheter and meglumine can treat EPISBO.
Aim: To investigate the efficacy of an intestinal obstruction tube combined with meglumine diazo in treating EPISBO of colorectal cancer.
Methods: Data from 60 patients with colorectal cancer and intestinal obstruction admitted to the Proctology Department of our hospital from April 2018 to May 2022 were collected and analyzed and divided into three cohorts according to different treatment regimens. Cohort A (
Results: Compared with cohort C, the successful treatment rate of cohort A was significantly higher. There were statistically significant variations in the time of first exhaust/defecation, length of hospital stays, gastrointestinal decompression time, relief time of abdominal pain, and relief time of abdominal distention among the three cohorts. Compared with cohort C, cohort A's first exhaust/defecation time, hospitalization time, gastrointestinal decompression time, abdominal pain relief time, and abdominal distension relief time was reduced (
Conclusion: Using an ileus tube combined with meglumine diatrizoate can effectively treat postoperative inflammatory ileus obstructions after surgery colorectal cancer and improve prognosis, inflammatory response, and nutritional status.
