    Abstract The present study aimed to examine whether and to what extent university student online learning performance was influenced by individual-technology fit (ITF), task-technology fit (TTF), environment-technology fit (ETF), and whether the influence was mediated by their behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement.     Abstract Having a thorough knowledge of root canal configuration is essential for a successful endodontic treatment. Clinicians should always pay attention to the unusual canal configuration so as to avoid missing extra canals. This paper describes a non-surgical retreatment of a maxillary second molar with two missing root canals; diagnosed by cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) imaging. The tooth had three roots and five canals: a C-shaped buccal root fused by mesiobuccal (MB) and distobuccal (DB) roots with three canals (CBCT scanning showed that the second MB canal was closer to the palatal than the buccal side), a mesiopalatal root with one canal, and a distopalatal root with one canal. The purpose of this case report is to remind clinicians of the importance of anatomical variations, and thus, detection of extra canals.

    Abstract (1) Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide with limited treatment satisfaction. Finding new therapeutic targets has remained a major challenge. Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent cell death program that plays a regulatory role in HBV infection and HCC development. It is necessary to classify the roles of ferroptosis or ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) in HBV-related HCC progression. (2) Methods: We conducted a matched case–control study from the TCGA database, retrospectively collecting demographic data and common clinical indicators from all subjects. The Kaplan–Meier curve, univariate and multivariate cox regression analysis of the FRGs were used to explore the risk factors for HBV-related HCC. The CIBERSORT algorithm and TIDE algorithm were executed to evaluate the functions of FRGs in the tumor-immune environment. (3) Results: A total of 145 HBV-positive HCC patients and 266 HBV-negative HCC patients were enrolled in our study. Four ferroptosis related genes (FANCD2, CS, CISD1 and SLC1A5) were positively correlated with the progression of HBV-related HCC. Among them, SLC1A5 was an independent risk factor for HBV-related HCC, and correlated with poor prognosis, advanced progression and an immunosuppression microenvironment. (4) Conclusions: Here, we revealed that a ferroptosis-related gene, SLC1A5, may be an excellent predictor of HBV-related HCC and may provide insight into the development of innovative possible therapeutic techniques.

    Abstract Objectives: Diabetes is fundamentally connected with the inability of skeletal muscle. Sinapic acid (SA) has multiple biologic functions and is diffusely utilized in diabetic complications. The purpose of this study was to explore the potential improvement effect and mechanisms of SA in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic muscle atrophy.
    Materials and methods: The model of diabetic mice was established by intraperitoneal STZ (200 mg/kg) to evaluate the treatment effect of SA (40 mg/kg/d for 8 weeks) on muscle atrophy. Muscle fiber size was assessed by Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE) staining. Muscle force was measured by a dynamometer. Biochemical parameters were tested by using corresponding commercial kits. The expressions of Atrogin-1, MuRF-1, nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF-1), peroxisome proliferative activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC-1α), CHOP, GRP-78, BAX, and BCL-2 were detected by Western blot.
    Results: Our data demonstrated that SA increased fiber size and weight of gastrocnemius, and enhanced grip strength to alleviate diabetes-induced muscle atrophy. In serum, SA restrained creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), malondialdehyde (MDA), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-a), and interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels, while enhancing total anti-oxidant capacity (T-AOC), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) levels to improve muscle injury. In gastrocnemius, SA promoted NRF-1, PGC-1α, and BCL-2 expressions, while inhibiting Atrogin-1, MuRF-1, CHOP, GRP-87, and BAX expressions.
    Conclusion: SA protected against diabetes-induced gastrocnemius injury via improvement of mitochondrial function, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, and apoptosis, and could be developed to prevent and treat diabetic muscle atrophy.

    Abstract Background: Sphingolipids not only serve as structural components for maintaining cell membrane fluidity but also function as bioactive molecules involved in cell signaling and the regulation of various biological processes. Their pivotal role in cancer cell development, encompassing cancer cell proliferation, migration, angiogenesis, and metastasis, has been a focal point for decades. However, the contribution of sphingolipids to the complexity of tumor microenvironment promoting cancer progression has been rarely investigated.
    Methods: Through the integration of publicly available bulk RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq data, we conducted a comprehensive analysis to compare the transcriptomic features between tumors and adjacent normal tissues, thus elucidating the intricacies of the tumor microenvironment (TME).
    Results: Disparities in sphingolipid metabolism (SLM)-associated genes were observed between normal and cancerous tissues, with the TME characterized by the enrichment of sphingolipid signaling in macrophages. Cellular interaction analysis revealed robust communication between macrophages and cancer cells exhibiting low SLM, identifying the crucial ligand-receptor pair, macrophage inhibitory factor (MIF)-CD74. Pseudo-time analysis unveiled the involvement of SLM in modulating macrophage polarization towards either M1 or M2 phenotypes. Categorizing macrophages into six subclusters based on gene expression patterns and function, the SPP1+ cluster, RGS1+ cluster, and CXCL10+ cluster were likely implicated in sphingolipid-induced M2 macrophage polarization. Additionally, the CXCL10+, AGER+, and FABP4+ clusters were likely to be involved in angiogenesis through their interaction with endothelial cells.
    Conclusion: Based on multiple scRNA-seq datasets, we propose that a MIF-targeted strategy could potentially impede the polarization from M1 to M2 and impair tumor angiogenesis in low-SLM non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), demonstrating its potent antitumor efficacy.
