Case summary: A case of a 29-year-old woman with recurrent interstitial HP after IVF-ET following salpingectomy is presented. The main symptom was a sudden and worsening pelvic pain. Physical examinations revealed signs of peritoneal bleeding and irritation with stable vital signs. Transvaginal ultrasound showed a live intrauterine pregnancy and another live embryo with cardiac activity in the left cornu extending beyond the lateral edge of the uterus. Her hemoglobin concentration was 8.0 g/dL, and serum human chorionic gonadotropin value was 171116.9 mIU/mL. With the diagnosis of ruptured HP with internal bleeding, an emergency laparoscopic resection of left cornu was performed. The interstitial pregnancy was removed with caution to protect the intrauterine pregnancy. After the surgical treatment, the intrauterine pregnancy continued with no complications. A healthy baby was delivered by caesarean section at 39 wk. Outcomes of another three cases are further summarized.
Conclusion: Post-salpingectomy HP is a rare but challenging condition. Surgical treatment is preferred in the case with a viable intrauterine pregnancy.

Abstract Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP) is a highly conserved multifunctional protein, which participates in many important physiological processes. Recently, the roles of TCTP in cell proliferation and apoptosis, especially its close relationship with various tumors, have attracted widespread attention. In this study, we found that the protein level of TCTP was significantly reduced in acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line NB4 transfected with retinoic acid-induced gene G (RIG-G). The RIG-G was found in our previous work as a key mediator of anti-proliferative activity in retinoid/interferon-related pathways. Here, we tried to further explore the function of TCTP in the development of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from different levels. Our results showed that inhibiting TCTP expression could attenuate AML cells proliferation and induce apoptosis both in AML cell lines and in xenograft of NOD-SCID mice. In addition, either compared with patients in complete remission or non-leukemia patients, we detected that the expression of TCTP was generally high in the fresh bone marrow of AML patients, suggesting that there was a certain correlation between TCTP and AML disease progression. Taken together, our study revealed the role of TCTP in AML development, and provided a potential target for AML treatment.

Abstract Objective: The efficacy of medications for Parkinson's disease (PD) tend to decline over time, which has a serious impact on patients' health and quality of life. To some extent, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can resolve the distressing problem of ineffective dopaminergic medication in PD patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude, acceptance, and independent predictors of TCM in PD patients admitted to the outpatient department of a tertiary hospital.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of PD patients was conducted in the outpatient department of a large tertiary hospital in Beijing from March 2022 to June 2023. A self-report questionnaire was developed to investigate PD patients' attitudes and acceptance of TCM based on the questionnaire. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were also performed to further clarify the independent predictors influencing patients' adoption of TCM therapy.
Results: A total of 397 patients completed the questionnaire, of which 78.09% were willing to be treated with TCM and 21.91% indicated that they were not willing to use TCM. Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that several parameters were correlated with a patient's willingness to include TCM in their therapeutic regime. These included education level of a bachelor's degree (odds ratio [OR) = 8.554; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 4.112-17.794; P < 0.001, vs junior high school education), living in an urban setting (OR = 8.022; 95% CI: 4.577-14.060; P < 0.001, vs rural), having other underlying diseases (OR = 5.126; 95% CI: 3.078-8.537; P < 0.001, vs none), having previously used TCM (OR = 3.083; 95% CI: 1.852-5.134; P < 0.001, vs not used), believing that TCM therapy is safe (OR = 3.530; 95% CI: 1.446-8.616; P = 0.006, vs not thought), believing that TCM therapy is effective (OR = 3.859; 95% CI: 1.482-10.047; P = 0.006, vs not understood), and being willing to discuss ongoing TCM therapy with an attending physician (OR = 62.468; 95% CI: 30.350-128.574; P < 0.001, vs not informed).
Conclusion: This study initially investigated the acceptance, attitude, and independent predictors of TCM use among PD patients. To expand the prevalence of TCM use among patients with PD, we recommend to broadening the public outreach for TCM via contemporary means of Internet and broadcast communication, enhancing access to TCM services in rural communities, and strengthening the communication between doctors and patients. Abstract Background: Impaired intestinal barrier and immune dysfunction promote the development of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s), which are enriched in the intestinal lamina propria, are key for intestinal barrier integrity. However, there is a paucity of data on circulating ILC3s in patients with T2D.
Purpose: To examine the characteristics of ILC3s in patients with T2D and identify the relationship between ILC3s and clinical indicators of T2D.
Methods: Fifty-nine patients with T2D and thirty controls were enrolled in this retrospective study. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated and analyzed by flow cytometry and plasma cytokine levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.
Results: The proportion of circulating ILC3s in the T2D group was significantly lower than that in controls and showed a negative correlation with fasting glucose and glycated hemoglobin and a positive correlation with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). Similarly, the proportion of circulating integrin α4
    Conclusion: ILC3s, especially integrin α4

Abstract Background: Pediatric liver transplantation is an important modality for treating biliary atresia. The overall survival (OS) rate of pediatric liver transplantation has significantly improved compared with that of 20 years ago, but it is still unsatisfactory. The anesthesia strategy of maintaining low central venous pressure (CVP) has shown a positive effect on prognosis in adult liver transplantation. However, this relationship remains unclear in pediatric liver transplantation. Thus, this study was conducted to review the data of pediatric living-donor liver transplantation to analyze the associations of different CVP levels with the prognosis of recipients.
Methods: This was a retrospective study and the patients were divided into two groups according to CVP levels after abdominal closure: low CVP (LCVP) (≤ 10 cmH
Results: In the study, 712 patients, including 470 in the LCVP group and 242 in the HCVP group, were enrolled. After propensity score matching, 212 pairs remained in the group. The LCVP group showed a higher overall survival rate than the HCVP group in the Kaplan-Meier curves and multivariate Cox regression analyses (P = 0.018), and the HCVP group had a hazard ratio of 2.445 (95% confidence interval, 1.163-5.140).
Conclusion: This study confirmed that a low-CVP level at the end of surgery is associated with improved overall survival and a shorter length of hospital stay.
