Abstract | Rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) with the ability of bacterial identification is urgently needed for evidence-based antibiotic prescription. Herein, we propose an enzymatic AST (enzyAST) that employs β-d-glucuronidase as a biomarker to identify pathogens and profile phenotypic susceptibilities simultaneously.
