Abstract Open-source Automated Insulin Dosing (OS-AID) algorithms are made publicly accessible so that every facet of their operation can be understood. Currently, commercial AID algorithms are kept proprietary trade secrets, despite the role they take in making life and death decisions for people living with type 1 diabetes. Loop was the second OS-AID algorithm, developed initially by Nate Racklyeft and Pete Schwamb. In 2018, the nonprofit organization Tidepool (Palo Alto, CA) announced the launch of the "Tidepool Loop" initiative with the aim to generate real-world evidence and obtain regulatory clearance. By the end of 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration received Tidepool's application for an interoperable automated glycemic controller based on Loop. After 2 years, the FDA approved the Tidepool Loop on January 23, 2023.

Abstract Epilepsy is a neurological disorder produced due to abnormal excitability of neurons in the brain. The research reveals that brain activity is monitored through electroencephalogram (EEG) of patients suffered from seizure to detect the epileptic seizure. The performance of EEG detection based epilepsy require feature extracting strategies. In this research, we have extracted varying features extracting strategies based on time and frequency domain characteristics, nonlinear, wavelet based entropy and few statistical features. A deeper study was undertaken using novel machine learning classifiers by considering multiple factors. The support vector machine kernels are evaluated based on multiclass kernel and box constraint level. Likewise, for K-nearest neighbors (KNN), we computed the different distance metrics, Neighbor weights and Neighbors. Similarly, the decision trees we tuned the paramours based on maximum splits and split criteria and ensemble classifiers are evaluated based on different ensemble methods and learning rate. For training/testing tenfold Cross validation was employed and performance was evaluated in form of TPR, NPR, PPV, accuracy and AUC. In this research, a deeper analysis approach was performed using diverse features extracting strategies using robust machine learning classifiers with more advanced optimal options. Support Vector Machine linear kernel and KNN with City block distance metric give the overall highest accuracy of 99.5% which was higher than using the default parameters for these classifiers. Moreover, highest separation (AUC = 0.9991, 0.9990) were obtained at different kernel scales using SVM. Additionally, the K-nearest neighbors with inverse squared distance weight give higher performance at different Neighbors. Moreover, to distinguish the postictal heart rate oscillations from epileptic ictal subjects, and highest performance of 100% was obtained using different machine learning classifiers.

Abstract The treatment of acute coronary occlusion with Primary PCI has been a major factor in improving outcomes of patients suffering STEMI in the last 15 years, and is the standard treatment for patients suffering STEMI in the UK. Treatment is beneficial for patients presenting within 12 hours of the onset of symptoms, with the goal being opening of the occluded artery within 150 min of the call for help. Opening of the occluded artery is typically completed with a drug-eluting stent followed by administration of antiplatelet medications for 12 months. Procedures are performed using the radial artery which is associated with improved outcomes compared to vascular access via the femoral artery. Evidence is growing to support full revascularisation including the treatment of severe narrowing in other blood vessels as well as the culprit vessel.

Abstract While a very few studies have been conducted on classifying loving kindness meditation (LKM) and non-meditation electroencephalography (EEG) data for a single session, there are no such studies conducted for multiple session EEG data. Thus, this study aims at classifying existing raw EEG meditation data on single and multiple sessions to come up with meaningful inferences which will be highly beneficial when developing algorithms that can support meditation practices. In this analysis, data have been collected on Pre-Resting (before-meditation), Post-Resting (after-meditation), LKM-Self and LKM-Others for 32 participants and hence allowing us to conduct six pairwise comparisons for the four mind tasks. Common Spatial Patterns (CSP) is a feature extraction method widely used in motor imaginary brain computer interface (BCI), but not in meditation EEG data. Therefore, using CSP in extracting features from meditation EEG data and classifying meditation/non-meditation instances, particularly for multiple sessions will create a new path in future meditation EEG research. The classification was done using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) where both meditation techniques (LKM-Self and LKM-Others) were compared with Pre-Resting and Post-Resting instances. The results show that for a single session of 32 participants, around 99.5% accuracy was obtained for classifying meditation/Pre-Resting instances. For the 15 participants when using five sessions of EEG data, around 83.6% accuracy was obtained for classifying meditation/Pre-Resting instances. The results demonstrate the ability to classify meditation/Pre-Resting data. Most importantly, this classification is possible for multiple session data as well. In addition to this, when comparing the classification accuracies of the six mind task pairs; LKM-Self, LKM-Others and Post-Resting produced relatively lower accuracies among them than the accuracies obtained for classifying Pre-Resting with the other three. This indicates that Pre-Resting has some features giving a better classification indicating that it is different from the other three mind tasks.

Abstract Objective: To determine the factors associated with renal function recovery in individuals with kidney failure due to obstruction in the urinary tract.
Methods: The prospective, descriptive study was conducted July 2020 to August 2021 at the Department of Urology, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Karachi, and comprised adult patients of either gender who had renal failure secondary to obstructive urinary tract. Baseline data regarding patients' variables, including age, gender, duration of symptoms (<25 days or >25 days), haemoglobin (<9.85g/dl or >9.85g/dl), serum creatinine and renal cortical thickness (<16.5mm or >16.5 mm), was noted on a proforma. The variables were stratified to assess impact on renal recovery. Data was analysed using SPSS 23.
Results: Of the 126 patients, 43(34.13%) were males and 83(65.87%) were females. The overall mean age was 44.13±14.18 years. Renal recovery occurred in 67(78.8%) patients having duration of symptoms ≤25 days, and in 13(31.7%) patients with duration of symptoms >25 days (p<0.001). Renal recovery occurred in 41(58.6%) patients having haemoglobin ≤9.85g/dL and in 39(69.6%) patients having haemoglobin >9.85g/dL (p=0.2). Renal recovery occurred in 26(37.7%) patients with parenchymal thickness ≤16.5mm and in 54(94.7%) patients with renal cortical thickness >16.5mm (p<0.001).
Conclusion: Symptom duration ≤25 days, and renal parenchymal thickness >16.5mm were found to be predictive factors of good recovery in renal failure cases secondary to obstructive uropathy.

Abstract Herein, we provide eco-friendly and safely operated electrocatalytic methods for the selective oxidation directly or with water, air, light, metal catalyst or other mediators serving as the only oxygen supply. Heavy metals, stoichiometric chemical oxidants, or harsh conditions were drawbacks of earlier oxidative cleavage techniques. It has recently come to light that a crucial stage in the deconstruction of plastic waste and the utilization of biomass is the selective activation of inert C(sp
