Abstract China's urban economy has developed rapidly over the decades, and the Cheng-Yu urban agglomeration has become one of China's four typical urban agglomerations, with a large population and a high level of economic development. However, the conflict between humans and the environment is becoming increasingly prominent together with economic development. In order to protect the ecological environment in urban areas, thus scientific understanding and assessment of ecological vulnerability are beneficial to establishing regional conservation measures, and serve as a key means to maintain environmental health. Based on the "Sensitivity-Resilience-Pressure" (SRP) model, this study considered remote sensing, geographic and statistical data to construct an evaluation system for regional ecological vulnerability. In addition, the coupled AHP (Analytic hierarchy process)-Entropy weighting model was proposed to obtain the weight of each evaluation indicator and analyze the spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of the ecological vulnerability of the study area during 2000-2020. The changes and the divergence pattern were depicted by the transfer matrix, dynamic degree and spatial auto-correlation. The results indicated that the ecological vulnerability of Cheng-Yu urban agglomeration is mainly mild and moderate, with an overall high distribution in Chongqing and Chengdu, while low in the central and north zone (e.g., Ziyang, Mianyang). It is consistent with the distribution of HH (High-High) and L-L (Low-Low) clusters, respectively, having a significant positive spatial correlation. In particular, the severely vulnerable area increased from 7059 km² in 2000 to 23553 km² in 2020, with an increased rate of 233.66 %. Combining the transfer matrix and dynamic degree, it was found that the ecological environment underwent a rapid deterioration followed by a slow recovery. This study provides a scientific reference for the ecological policy making which serves sustainable urban development.

Abstract A new species Reticuluma bipennata sp. nov. from China is described and illustrated, and can be distinguished from other Reticuluma by the aedeagal shaft with a pair of wing-shaped processes on the lateral margin. A key to all species of the genus based on the features of males and a map showing the geographic distribution of the genus are given.

Abstract Polyploidization has been demonstrated as a very effective approach in fruit tree improvement. Sour jujube (Ziziphus acidojujuba Cheng et Liu) is a promising diploid wild, traditional fruit species (2n = 2x = 24) that is rich in vitamin C, which is the main rootstock of Chinese jujube (Z. jujuba Mill.). The novel method we developed for rapid in vivo induction of homogeneous autopolyploids (IVIHA) via callus in Chinese jujube was first applied and further optimized in sour jujube. Under optimized conditions, an average of one pure autotetraploid shoot could be regenerated from one treated branch, thereby indicating a relatively high efficiency rate. A total of 9 pure autotetraploid genotypes were created, and one of these was released as a new cultivar named ‘Zhuguang’ in 2015. Moreover, unexpected octoploids and hexaploids were also simultaneously created and detected. The leaves of tetraploids were thicker, broader, and darker in color than those of the original diploids, whereas the leaf sizes of octoploids were much smaller compared to that of diploids. However, stoma size increased with the occurrence of ploidy, mainly from diploid to octoploid. The well grown ploidies of jujube included diploids, triploids, and tetraploids. Anatomical observation indicated that adventitious buds/shoots emerged from the callus that formed on the cut, which was then followed by the development of connective vascular tissues between the adventitious bud and the stock plant tissue. This study demonstrates the universality of the IVIHA method that was initially developed in Chinese jujube, as well as provides a foundation for high-efficiency pure polyploid induction in sour jujube.

Abstract Non-heme mononuclear iron complexes, especially when supported by tripodal tetradentate ligands, show promising C-H bond activation efficiency in catalytic reactions. Nevertheless, they intrinsically decay readily to their dinuclear form, and the dimerization process is inevitable in homogenous solution, which dramatically hinders their further application. Hence, we demonstrate that the mononuclear iron complex [(TPA)Fe

Abstract Accurate photon phase control on a chip is essential to improve the expandability and stability of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Here, we propose a novel, to the best of our knowledge, on-chip static phase control method in which a modified line is added close to the normal waveguide with a lower-energy laser. By controlling the laser energy and the position and length of the modified line, the optical phase can be precisely controlled with low loss and a three-dimensional (3D) path. Customizable phase modulation ranging from 0 to 2π is performed with a precision of λ/70 in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The proposed method can customize high-precision control phases without changing the waveguide's original spatial path, which is expected to control the phase and solve the phase error correction problem during processing of large-scale 3D-path PICs.
