Abstract Autophagy is the initial defense response of the host against pathogens. Autophagy can be either non-selective or selective. It selectively targets the degradation of autophagic substrates through the sorting and transportation of autophagic receptor proteins. However, excessive autophagy activity will trigger cell death especially ferroptosis, which was characterized by the accumulation of lipid peroxide and free iron. Several certain types of selective autophagy degrade antioxidant systems and ferritin. Here, we summarized the latest researches of autophagy in infection and discuss the regulatory mechanisms and signaling pathways of autophagy-dependent ferroptosis.

Abstract As natural dominant pigments, carotenoids and their derivatives not only contribute to fruit color and flavor quality but are regarded as phytochemicals beneficial to human health because of various bioactivities. Tomato is one of the most important vegetables as well as a main dietary source of carotenoids. So, it's of great importance to generate carotenoid-biofortified tomatoes. The carotenoid biosynthesis pathway is a network co-regulated by multiple enzymes and regulatory genes. Here, we assembled four binary constructs containing different combinations of four endogenous carotenoids metabolic-related genes, including SlOR

Abstract With the development of high-voltage and high-frequency switching circuits, GaN high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) devices with high bandwidth, high electron mobility, and high breakdown voltage have become an important research topic in this field. It has been found that GaN HEMT devices have a drift in threshold voltage under the conditions of temperature and gate stress changes. Under high-temperature conditions, the difference in gate contact also causes the threshold voltage to shift. The variation in the threshold voltage affects the stability of the device as well as the overall circuit performance. Therefore, in this paper, a review of previous work is presented. Temperature variation, gate stress variation, and gate contact variation are investigated to analyze the physical mechanisms that generate the threshold voltage (

Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) represents a leading and fatal malignancy within the gastrointestinal tract. Recent advancements highlight the pivotal role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in diverse biological pathways and pathologies, particularly in tumorigenesis. LINC01134, a particular lncRNA, has attracted considerable attention due to its oncogenic potential in hepatoma. Current research underscores LINC01134's potential in augmenting the onset and progression of HCC, with notable implications in drug resistance. This review comprehensively explores the molecular functions and regulatory mechanisms of LINC01134 in HCC, offering a fresh perspective for therapeutic interventions. By delving into LINC01134's multifaceted roles, we aim to foster novel strategies in HCC management.

Abstract Hydrocarbons, when used as the medium for transition metal catalyzed organic reactions and olefin (co-)polymerization, are ubiquitous. Environmentally friendly water is highly attractive and long-sought, but is greatly challenging as coordination-insertion copolymerization reaction medium of olefin and polar monomers. Unfavorable interactions from both water and polar monomer usually lead to either catalyst deactivation or the formation of low-molecular-weight polymers. Herein, we develop well-behaved neutral phosphinophenolato nickel catalysts, which enable aqueous copolymerization of ethylene and diverse polar monomers to produce significantly high-molecular-weight linear polar polyolefins (219-549 kDa, 0.13-1.29 mol %) in a single-component fashion under mild conditions for the first time. These copolymerization reactions occur better in water than in hydrocarbons such as toluene. The dual characteristics of high molecular weight and the incorporation of a small amount of functional group result in improved surface properties while retain the desirable intrinsic properties of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
