Abstract Tuberculosis (TB), an infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, accounts for significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. While primary TB predominantly involves the respiratory system, approximately 10-19% patients have musculoskeletal involvement. We present a case of a 54-year-old year gentleman with insidious onset of anterior knee pain. Imaging demonstrated a soft tissue lesion involving the patellar tendon and eroding the inferior pole of the patella. The imaging features, particularly ultrasound, resembled those that are typically seen with gout. Ultrasound guided biopsy revealed this to be TB of the patella. The patient was successfully treated with antitubercular therapy. Musculoskeletal TB, while usually not a primary form of TB, is an important consideration particularly in patients with risk factors for the disease. Its imaging features can mimic other forms of arthropathy such as gout. Moreover, while the knee is a relatively common site for TB infection, isolated involvement of the patella and patellar tendon is extremely rare. The case highlights the possibility of rare musculoskeletal manifestation of TB as a well as a potential imaging pitfall of TB infection mimicking gout, which is an important consideration in clinical practice.

Abstract The seasonal and sex-wise variations in fatty acid and mineral composition in the tissue of Odonus niger collected from the Karnataka coast, southeastern Arabian Sea, were evaluated for the first time. The fatty acid profile was assessed using gas chromatography, nutritional indices were employed to evaluate lipid quality, and standard methods were utilized to estimate mineral composition and heavy metals. Palmitic acid (20.2-45.9%), oleic acid (10.0-19.2%), and docosahexaenoic acid (10.9-36.7%) were found in the highest proportions. The amount of ω3 fatty acids was significantly higher than ω6 fatty acids indicating the healthiest food fish and a promising source for nutrient supplementation. The P/S (PUFA/SFA) and ω3/ω6 ratios of the species were greater than those recommended by the UK Dept. of Health. Index of atherogenicity (IA) and thrombogenicity (IT) was low, and hypocholesterolemic to the hypercholesterolemic ratio (HH), unsaturation index (UI), health-promoting index (HPI), fish lipid quality (FLQ), and polyene index (PI) were high. The relationship between the quantities of macronutrients and trace elements was calculated as K > P > Na > Mg > Ca and B > Fe > Zn > Ga > Al respectively. Heavy metals like Be, Bi, Co, and Hg were found below the detection level. Benefit-risk ratio value indicates that the species is safe for consumption.

Abstract The most important approaches for safeguarding our communications and data nowadays are message encryption techniques. The use of the internet and network communications has increased the pace of message encryption technology development. Sharing sensitive, private messages through unsecured networks makes it possible for an attack, theft, or hacking of the messages. In order to reduce this term, cryptographic methods have been found essential. There are several symmetric enciphering methods; a few examples are the Caesar Cipher, Hill Cipher, and others. In order to generate a complex cipher text, the enciphering method described in this article encrypts and decrypts the messages given to it using a selfinvertible key matrix and an adjacency matrix of certain graphs like A graph, Centipede C2, Domino graph. Since we are using the self-invertible matrix as a key matrix, whose inverse always exists, thus we can decode the ciphertext without computing the inverse of the key matrix. The lessening in computational complexity facilitates our ability to determine the inverse of a key matrix.

Abstract High salinity is a serious problem in agriculture, causing significant yield losses in crops every year by inflicting damage both through the osmotic effect reducing water uptake by plants, and excess ions entering into the transpiration stream causing cell injury. The application of various bioactive nanoparticles of particular shapes, sizes, and concentrations has been shown to give protection against salt stress in different crop plants, improving growth parameters, seed germination, root anatomy, yield, and biochemical profile. The molecular mechanisms behind this phenomenon are still unknown, but research has revealed that the application of nanoparticles can alter several gene expressions (including AREB, SOS2, and DDF2) associated with salt stress. Hence, this potential alternative strategy of salt stress management in agriculture by bioactive nanoparticles is receiving huge attention nowadays. Here we have reviewed the effective nanoparticles against salt stress in crops that have so far been investigated, their potential application in agriculture for better production and the major challenges associated with this. This review is intended to be a helpful insight into the mitigation of salt stress in crops through nanoparticle-mediated strategies and understanding the nanoparticle-salinity relations. Prospects of using nanoparticles to mitigate salt stress are also discussed here.
