Abstract Energy is a crucial part of any economy and holds a central position in enhancing social development in the world. Energy consumption and the economy in Brazil have both increased in the past decade. In this paper, time series statistics from 1980 to 2017 will be used to analyze the relationship between real GDP per capita and energy consumption to will examine how energy use in the country affects economic growth using causality models. This is established through testing for stationarity using Kwiatkowski-Phillips-Schmidt-Shin (KPSS) test for trend stationarity. A cointegration relationship is found between the two variables.

Abstract This paper will prove, through a financial and econometric model, a different estimation approach on the Chinese’ basket peg. In particular, this study proposes a new system for calculating the numeraire in exchange rates of the major currencies present in Chinese basket-peg. We will analyze the values of exchange rates in the financial markets, particularly in the Forex market and Binary options. Then, after choosing the three currencies that have characteristics of low volatility, we will find our numeraire that will be determined by average every 30 minutes. Finally, we will do an econometric estimation. Keywords: Exchange Rate Regime, Chinese Basket peg, Forex Market, Binary options. Abstract This study will demonstrate, through an econometric approach, the renewable energy consumption-economic growth effects in Mexico over the period 1990-2017. After a premise where we describe the situation of energy demand and consumption in Mexico and a summary of the economic literature, we have applied various econometric tests. Results about unit root tests describe a situation with all variables that aren't stationary except that in first differences. The Toda and Yamamoto approach is very important in our analysis: it highlights the existence of a unidirectional causal flow, running from renewable energy consumption to aggregate income. This situation respects the theory and hypothesis of economic growth. Abstract ABSTRACT This paper aims to analyze the innovations introduced in the functions of the International Monetary Fund in the context of the 2008 economic and financial crisis. This promoted an action that aimed to strengthen the surveillance function through the adoption of the Integrated Surveillance. Thus, alongside the traditional conditionality based on an a posteriori implementation of adequate economic policies, a criterion of ex ante conditionality in the precautionary branches was also introduced or based on the economic characteristics of the country to be financed. Concerning traditional conditionality, it will be asked whether the IMF has adopted a less extensive approach than its role.
