Abstract Ewing’s sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumor is rare and aggressive with a poor prognosis. Intraabdominal metastases are an uncommon condition. Metastasis in the lesser sac is an exceptional occurrence. To the best of our knowledge, this location has not been described previously. We report a case of a 15-year-old patient treated for Ewing’s sarcoma of the left arm 6 years back. She had developed a suspicious mass in the lesser sac 6 years following her primary tumor. The histopathologic exam revealed a tumor with “small round cells” that were positive for CD99, confirming the relapse of Ewing’s sarcoma. The relapse was successfully managed with chemotherapy and surgery. Intraabdominal, extraintestinal masses in patients treated previously for Ewing’s sarcoma should be considered as Ewing’s sarcoma relapse in the differential diagnosis. We fully describe the management of this atypical relapse, with different components of clinical, radiological, and histological findings.

Abstract The cognitive pathological aging process of Alzheimer’s diseases (AD) accompanied by physiological changes and modifications in cognitive abilities. Most of the work carried on cognitive functioning of AD patients has provided a better description of the cognitive disturbances caused by this disease. These disturbances are dominated by a deficiency in certain memory systems, in particular episodic memory, semantic memory and working memory, followed by a deficiency in language production and comprehension and in executive function. We briefly present in this work a general overview on Alzheimer’s disease followed by a presentation of a cognitive aspect of this disease enclosing the particularities of the effect of AD on memory function and the main approaches to cognitive stimulation and language therapy. This presentation of the cognitive language therapy approaches as well as the different techniques for managing cognitive deficits in Alzheimer’s disease can provide knowledge enabling to offer adapted care for bilingual patients with AD since this disease requires adapted and specific interventions.

Title translation Situation of pediatric radiotherapy in Morocco: First national survey.
Abstract Introduction: Pediatric radiotherapy (PR) faces several issues in middle- and low-income countries.
Aim: Our study is a cross-sectional observation which aimed to describe the current situation of PR in Morocco in order to identify the needs and to propose an organizational shema for this discipline.
Methods: The collection of data used two surveys, one of which was intended to the heads of the radiotherapy department of all university hospital centers (UHC) in Morocco concerning the hospital's infrastructure, human resources, technical and the course of radiotherapy. A second survey was intended for all radiation oncologists trained and working in Morocco with data related to the practice of PR.
Results: In 2021, 295 children were treated in the radiotherapy departments of the seven university hospitals in Morocco. One hundred and two radiation oncologists responded to our survey. The multidisciplinary consultation board is held in five university hospitals, four of which have a complete multidisciplinary team. The children are sent to another structure by default of anesthesia according to 21% of the radiotherapists questioned. The three-dimensional technique is available in all university hospitals. Intensity modulated radiotherapy is available in 5 UHC. Additional training in radiotherapy after residency was necessary according to 60% of the radiotherapists questioned.
Conclusion: Despite the progress that Morocco has made in terms of infrastructure and radiotherapy equipment, this first national survey has identified some weaknesses and developed some recommendations for the organization of PR.

Abstract The aim is to compare the effectiveness of 3% of natural preparations mixtures based on kaolin associated with garlic, ginger and/or their mixture on the performance, the cutting yield, carcass and bone qualities of broiler. 192 one-day-old Cobb 500 chicks were assigned to 04 groups of 48 four-replicate chicks (C: without addition; Kgar: 3% kaolin-garlic; Kgin: 3% kaolin-ginger and Kgg: 3% kaolin-garlic-ginger). Results showed that the mixtures significantly improve body weight and feed efficiency at 42 days, with nonetheless a more marked effect for the Kgar group (BW: +4.5%; FCR: -5.5%). In addition, still in favor of the Kgar group, the same tendency was recorded for the yield of chicken ready-to-cook (+3.2%; P=0.02) accompanied by enhanced breast and thighs yields. In terms of quality, the mixtures significantly impacted the meat conservation criteria by reducing water-holding capacity by almost 50% and less abdominal fat deposition. Finally, although not significant, the indicators of bone quality measured (ash content and Seedor index) appear better in chickens receiving mixtures. The results of this study show the interest of adding a mixture of kaolin and condiments in improving broiler performance, meat quality and bone characteristics.

Abstract Butyrophilin-3A (BTN3A) subfamily members are a group of immunoglobulins present on the surface of different cell types, including innate and cancer cells. Due to their high similarity with the B7 family members, different studies have been conducted and revealed the involvement of BTN3A molecules in modulating T cell activity within the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, a great part of this research focused on γδ T cells and how BTN3A contributes to their functions. In this review, we will depict the roles and various aspects of BTN3A molecules in distinct tumor microenvironments and review how BTN3A receptors modulate diverse immune effector functions including those of CD4+ (Th1), cytotoxic CD8+ T cells, and NK cells. We will also highlight the potential of BTN3A molecules as therapeutic targets for effective immunotherapy and successful cancer control, which could represent a bright future for patient treatment.

Abstract We studied language information processing abilities in subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD) who were bilingual (French and dialectical Arabic). The results show a disruption of certain semantic aspects of their mother tongue (L1); a process based on the lexical implications of terms and continuity. On the other hand, grammatical levels appeared to be relatively unaffected in oral speech in L1 but were disturbed in the second language (L2). We consequently adapted a cognitive-language stimulation protocol for bilingual patients (PSCLAB) to respond to these deficits. The effectiveness of the PSCLAB in terms of rehabilitation was assessed in 30 such patients through discourse analysis carried out before and after initiating the protocol. The results show that cognitive/language training using the PSCLAB appears to improve language behaviour of bilingual patients with AD, although this should be confirmed through larger controlled studies.

Title translation Study of the levels of processing in language production in bilingual patients with Alzheimer's disease from early to medium stage.
Abstract The ability to preserve a good command of two languages decreases with old age. This decline can be more observed in bilingual patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). The linguistic deficit is the most frequent cognitive disturbance after memory disorders in AD semiology. Besides, most of the studies dealing with the linguistic semiology of the AD were essentially interested in describing the linguistic behavior of the monolingual people, and based on modest samples. This study aims to locate the disturbed levels of processing in language production of bilingual Alzheimer's subjects by analyzing the discourses of 120 participants including 60 bilingual patients with Alzheimer's disease and 60 healthy bilinguals. The results focus on the deficit of processing in language production of bilingual patients with Alzheimer's disease at the semantic level of the first language in two aspects, which are the procedure based on the lexical implications of the terms and the continuity. However, the grammatical aspects in the second language (connector and deictic) are dysfunctional, while they are relatively preserved in the first language (L1). It appears that the semantic aspects are affected and the grammatical aspects are relatively spared on the first language, however the grammatical aspect of the second language is affected. The grammatical aspect of L1 resists better because it depends on procedural memory that is relatively resistant to AD; however, the semantic aspect of the L1 and grammatical aspect of L1 are disturbed in the L2 too because they depend on the declarative memory which is early disturbed.

Abstract Purpose: This study surveyed radiation oncologists in Morocco to explore current practices and perspectives on brachytherapy for cervix cancer.
Methods and materials: A 37-question survey was conducted in April 2023 among 165 Moroccan radiation oncologists using Google Forms.
Results: Of the 93 respondents, 39% treated over 20 patients in 2022 using 3D image-guided brachytherapy (BT) through the HDR technique; 2D techniques were not reported in the last five years. Intracavitary BT is uniformly applied with a tandem and ovoid applicator. Only 14% utilized interstitial needles for hybrid BT. Iridium-192 was the primary radioactive source (63%), followed by cobalt (37%). Ultrasound-guided 47% of applicator insertions. All used CT scans for planning, but only 6% used MRI fusion due to limited availability. Guidelines for target volume and dose prescription were mostly based on GEC-ESTRO recommendations (74%), followed by Manchester Point A (30.4%) and ABS (11%). Over 90% delineated CTV-HR and CTV-IR; 30% delineated GTV. All marked the bladder and rectum, while 52% marked the sigmoid, 5% the small bowel, and 3% the recto-vaginal point. For dosimetry, 12% used ICRU 89 points, 54% used dose-volume histograms (DVH), and 36% used both. Most reported EQD2cc for OARs for the rectum and bladder, with nine still using ICRU point doses. The most common fractionation schema was 7 Gy in four fractions (60%) and 7 Gy in three fractions (55%).
Conclusions: Brachytherapy remains essential for treating cervical cancer in Morocco. Key areas for improvement include MRI fusion-guided brachytherapy, access to advanced applicators, expanding interstitial techniques, and professional training and national referential.
