Abstract Gliomas are prevalent malignant tumors in adults, which can be categorized as either localized or diffuse gliomas. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive and deadliest form of glioma. Currently, there is no complete cure, and the median survival time is less than one year. The main mechanism of regulated cell death involves organisms coordinating the elimination of damaged cells at risk of tumor transformation or cells hijacked by microorganisms for pathogen replication. This process includes apoptosis, necroptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, necrosis, parthanayosis, entosis, lysosome-dependent death, NETosis, oxiptosis, alkaliptosis, and disulfidaptosis. The main goal of clinical oncology is to develop therapies that promote the effective elimination of cancer cells by regulating cell death are the main goal of clinical oncology. Recently, scientists have utilized pertinent regulatory factors and natural small-molecule compounds to induce regulated cell death for the treatment of gliomas. By analyzing the PubMed and Web of Science databases, this paper reviews the research progress on the regulation of cell death and the role of natural small-molecule compounds in glioma. The aim is to provide help for the treatment of glioblastoma.

Abstract Urbanization is an inevitable outcome of the development of human society to a certain stage, and it is also an irreversible pattern of the concentration degree of human society. Based on multi-source data such as remote sensing images, ecological environment and socio-economic data, the evaluation index system of new urbanization is constructed from multi-dimensions of population, economy, society, space and ecology. To explore the spatio temporal evolution and driving factors of urbanization in 80 prefecture-level cities in central China from 2013 to 2021 by using entropy method, spatial autocorrelation model and geographic detector. The results show that: (1) The level of new urbanization continues to grow, with the average value rising from 0.1562 in 2013 to 0.2557 in 2021, and the regional differences are obvious, forming a circle structure with Wuhan, Zhengzhou and other provincial capitals as the center and weakening radiation to surrounding cities. (2) The agglomeration of ecological urbanization is significant, and the agglomeration trend is gradually enhanced. The high-high agglomeration areas tend to Xinzhou City, most prefecture-level cities in Hubei Province and some prefecture-level cities in Southern Hunan Province, while the low-low agglomeration areas tend to Changzhi City, most prefecture level cities in Henan Province and some prefecture-level cities in Northern Anhui Province. (3) The night light index, total retail sales of consumer goods, investment in fixed assets, proportion of built-up areas and urban economic density are the main driving factors affecting the level of new urbanization. (4) The interaction of driving factors shows double factor enhancement and nonlinear enhancement effects.

Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused a global pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The viral infection is reliant upon the binding between angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor (ACE2) and spike protein (S). Therefore, ACE2 is a key receptor for SARS-CoV-2 to infect the host. Nonetheless, as SARS-CoV-2 is constantly mutating into new variants that cause high infection rates, the development of prophylactic and therapeutic approaches remains a necessity to continue fighting mutated SARS-CoV-2 variants. In this study, ACE2-streptavidin fusion proteins expressed by recombinant DNA technology were anchored on biotinylated fluorescent polystyrene particles of various sizes ranging from 0.15 to 5 µm. The ACE2-tethered micro/nanoparticles were shown to prevent spike protein pseudotyped lentivirus entry into ACE2-expressing HEK293T cells. Compared to ACE2 in soluble form, micro-sized particles (2 and 5 µm) immobilized with ACE2 interfered more efficiently with viral attachment, entry, and the ensuing infection. Our results showed that particles functionalized with ACE2 could be used as efficient decoys to block the infection of SARS-CoV-2 strains.

Abstract Breast cancer has an extremely high incidence in women, and its morbidity and mortality rank first among female tumors. With the increasing development of molecular biology and genomics, molecular targeted therapy has become one of the most active areas in breast cancer treatment research and has also achieved remarkable achievements. However, molecular targeted therapy is mainly aimed at HER2-positive breast cancer and has not yet achieved satisfactory curative effect on HER2-negative breast cancer. This article describes the potential targets that may be used for breast cancer treatment from the aspects of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, DDR, angiogenesis, the cell cycle, breast cancer stem cells,
