Abstract This study examined the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) on pregnancy and the risk of miscarriage. We performed a systematic search for relevant studies published to August 2021 in the medical databases of PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar and Cochrane Library. The following key terms were used: 'electromagnetic field,' 'mobile phones,' 'mobile phone base stations,' 'watching TV,' 'using Internet,' 'miscarriage,' 'abortions,' 'spontaneous abortion,' 'early abortion' and 'late abortion'. All case-control and cohort studies that investigated the effect of EMF exposure on the risk of miscarriage were included without any restriction of language or time. Statistical analyses were done using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software (version 2.0). A random-effects model was performed to calculate the overall effect size. A primary search revealed a total of 982 relevant studies; six articles (

Abstract Background: Midwives are at the frontlines of the fight against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Working under these circumstances threatens their lives and that of their family members; midwives' adjustment to work increases their efficiency in providing care services to pregnant mothers, but midwives' coping process is ambiguous and complex. Thus, the aim of this study was to explore the coping process of midwives with their professional roles following COVID-19.
Materials and methods: This study was conducted using grounded theory during 2020 to 2021. For this purpose, 30 midwives were purposively and theoretically selected from two educational hospitals and health centers in Mashhad and Torbat Heydarieh cities, Iran. The data were collected using in-depth semi-structured interviews. The collected data were analyzed using the Strauss and Corbin method (2008) in MAXQDA software.
Results: The main concern of the participants was "perception of the threats to their health" and the core category revealed from the data was "trying to control the situation." Midwives coped with the COVID-19 pandemic in four steps, namely early initial confrontation, reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, management of challenges, and reconstructing. Support from family and the health system and religious belief were the interventional conditions in this theory.
Conclusions: Results of this study can be used to provide health managers with a better understanding of the conditions affecting the coping strategies of midwives with their professional roles during COVID-19. Therefore, this study provides the required data for developing an effective intervention to help nurse midwives to cope with this issue.

Abstract Introduction: Motivation is directly involved in women's childbearing decision. Considering the lack of information about reproductive-age women's childbearing motivations with preferences and actual child number in Iran, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between childbearing motivations with the fertility preferences and actual child number of reproductive-age women.
Materials and methods: The participants in this descriptive-correlational study were 844 reproductive-age women (aged 15-49 years) who were married for the first time and came from a wide range of areas in Mashhad. Multistage and convenience samplings were applied and the data were collected using Miller's childbearing motivation and fertility preferences and actual child number questionnaire.
Results: The results of the study reveal that positive- and negative-childbearing motivation were correlated with preferences (
Conclusions: Childbearing motivations affect the fertility preferences in reproductive-age women but do not appear to have any influence on the actual child number. Furthermore, the interactional variables affect the ideal and actual child number.

Abstract Background and aim: Given the prevalence of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the lack of information on coronavirus and pregnancy, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the association of COVID-19 and perinatal outcomes in pregnant women.
Materials and methods: In the present review article, the search process was conducted on English and Persian scientific databases of PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Magiran, Irandoc, Iranmedx, and SID as well as the websites of international organizations of World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention using the main keywords of "Pregnancy," "Perinatal outcomes," "Coronavirus," "COVID-19," "MERS-CoV," "MERS," "SARS-CoV-2," and "SARS-CoV-1" and their Persian-equivalent keywords from inception until March 16 2020.
Results: The findings of studies on mothers with COVID-19 were limited, and insufficient information is available on the adverse pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with COVID-19. In cases of infection with other coronaviruses such as Middle East respiratory syndrome and severe acute respiratory syndrome during pregnancy, there have been reports on adverse pregnancy outcomes such as miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm labor, low birth weight, and congenital malformations following high fever in the first trimester.
Conclusion: Pregnant women may be more susceptible to viral respiratory infections, including COVID-19, due to immunological and physiological changes. Therefore, pregnant women should take routine preventive measures, such as washing their hands frequently and avoiding contact with infected people, to prevent infection.

Abstract Objective: During recent years, evidence-based practice as a way to support higher standards of care was emphasized by health care policymakers. Sexual dysfunction (SD) is a common problem that affects the quality of life in individuals. Today, the use of Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) for treating SD has been considered, so this study was performed to evaluate the current evidence for the efficacy and safety of ginkgo in treating SD. Materials and Methods: In this review study, electronic databases of PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, Google Scholar, Web of science and Persian databases such as SID and Magiran were searched up to March 2020, to identify all the studies reporting the effect of GBE for effectiveness on sexual function and its safety. The search was performed using the keywords of Ginkgo, Ginkgo biloba, Complementary and alternative medicine, women sexual dysfunction, and male sexual dysfunction. The quality of included studies was assessed using the Oxford Center for Evidence Based Medicine checklist. Results: Among 156 articles found in the initial search, 5 randomized controlled trials (475 participants) were selected for this study. After a meticulous review, we found that G. biloba can have positive effects on the sexual function of postmenopausal women, while evidence shows that it has no effect on the sexual function of antidepressants users. Headaches and gastrointestinal disturbance were among the adverse events mentioned in several trials. Conclusion: We concluded that G. biloba has limited positive effects on sexual function and more studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract Introduction: Mastalgia is one of the most common causes of women referring to treatment centers that regarding its importance, proper administration of the drug is important. Due to the complications of chemical drugs, the patients' tendency to use complementary medicine has been increased. This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted with aim to evaluate and summarize the results of clinical trials on the effects of herbal medicines and dietary supplements on mastalgia in Iran. Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effect of herbal medicines and supplements on Mastalgia by searching the articles using the keywords of mastalgia, complementary medicine, herbal medicine, their English in Persian and English journals indexed in SID, Iranmedx, Irandoc, Magiran, Scopus, Pubmed and Google scholar from 2007 until 2019. The Jadad scale was used to evaluate the quality of the articles. The inclusion criteria were: the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on mastalgia and exclusion criteria were: no access to the full text and the existence of more than one intervention in each group and lack of control group. Results: In this study, 14 articles with inclusion criteria were evaluated which had antioxidant, flavonoid, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and had a good effect on mastalgia relief. The obtained data supports the use of Vitagnus and vitamin E for the treatment of mastalgia. In addition, cotton seed also provided good results. The results of the meta-analysis on three studies showed no significant difference between vitamin E and Evening Primrose (p = 0.648). Conclusion: Among all the above mentioned methods, Vitagnus and Vitamin E have more evidence for use in the treatment of mastalgia. Further studies are needed to apply other methods.
