    Abstract Objective: To discuss the challenges and perspectives of nursing education in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
    Methods: Reflection study, with theoretical approach based on national and international publications, allied to the experience of researchers in the area of nursing education.
    Results: Four sections are identified: Nursing education: current affairs and perspectives; Education and technologies in time of pandemic: acceleration, alteration and paralysis; Difference between emergency, intentional and remote teaching; the return to the "new normality": new structuring axes and legal norms.
    Final considerations: The conclusion is that longstanding challenges have emerged with the pandemic, and the processes of acceleration, change and paralysis have marked education in these times. Moreover, epidemiological, technological and psychological aspects should be more valued in the return to activities.

    Abstract O presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar os doze princípios da Resolução nº 569, de 8 de dezembro de 2017, do Conselho Nacional de Saúde, à luz da pedagogia de Paulo Freire. A Resolução embasa o trabalho da Comissão Intersetorial de Recursos Humanos e Relações de Trabalho (CIRHRT) na análise da relevância social e sanitária dos cursos de medicina, enfermagem, psicologia e odontologia vinculados ao sistema federal de ensino, nas etapas de abertura, credenciamento e renovação do credenciamento. Utilizou-se como método a Análise de Conteúdo proposta por Laurence Bardin e obteve-se como resultado evidências de que os princípios analisados estão em consonância com os alguns dos principais pressupostos da pedagogia freireana, tais como: a educação é uma forma de intervenção no mundo; a educação consiste num processo de mudança social; ensinar exige aceitação do novo, rejeição a qualquer forma de discriminação, respeito aos saberes dos educandos, reflexão crítica sobre a prática, disponibilidade para o diálogo, bom senso, pesquisa e apreensão da realidade, entre outros, o que demonstra uma importante contribuição do controle social à formação profissional em saúde no Brasil.
