Abstract The prosthodontics preclinical training modules involve textbook-based two-dimensional (2D) ideal images and practicing on manikin models to emulate ideal tooth preparations and teeth arrangements. Relying solely on 2D images as objectives for preclinical exercises limits the trainee's creative skills to instructions of textbooks and clinical instructions received. With advancements in digital dentistry, dental trainees should have early exposure to the three-dimensional (3D) rendering of ideal preclinical objectives. A dental education technique using computer-aided design software and smartphones is described that will allow 3D rendering of ideal prosthodontic training assignments allowing early exposure to digital dentistry for dental training students.

Abstract Background: The ambiguity in key influential factors such as minimal time for effective action, dilution, and need of drug carrier for intracanal medicaments necessitates a microbial analysis that aids in the potential selection of an intracanal medicament for ensuring optimal root canal disinfection.
Aims: This study aims to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of octenidine hydrochloride (OHC) and gold standard calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)
Materials and methods: A modified direct contact microbial test was used to evaluate the amount of surviving bacteria after predetermined contact time (2, 5, 20, and 60 min) and 5-fold serial dilution of the intracanal medicaments. The experiment was carried out under aseptic conditions and performed in triplicate to ensure reproducibility.
Statistical analysis used: The results were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance followed by pairwise comparisons by Mann-Whitney
Results and conclusions: The results showed that all the four medicament groups were able to show the maximum antimicrobial efficacy against

Abstract Background: Bipolar disorder is a chronic psychological disorder, and lithium remains the mainstay of therapy. Lithium toxicity can be acute or chronic and the effects may be disabling or life-threatening. The presence of risk factors can increase the chances of lithium toxicity in a patient on long-term lithium therapy. We hereby report a case of chronic lithium toxicity in a patient with a known case of bipolar disorder.
Case presentation: A 44-year-old female patient with a known case of bipolar disorder presented with altered sensorium, seizures, and renal insufficiency. On admission, the patient was severely dehydrated and the serum lithium level was 3.43 mEq/L. Hemodialysis was performed and she improved gradually.
Conclusion: Lithium has constantly proven to be beneficial in lowering suicide rates in bipolar disorder patients over the years since its approval. However, its use is limited due to the risk of toxicity. The chances of developing toxicity are higher in patients on long-term lithium therapy. Patients with high risk factors for toxicity should be monitored frequently as the effects of lithium toxicity can be fatal.

Abstract An enzymatic fluorescent probe is developed for the selective detection of glucose. In this work, a Bovine Serum Albumin stabilized gold nanocluster (BSA-AuNCs) was synthesized by microwave assisted method, and it is modified with glucose oxidase, thereby a fluorescent enzymatic sensor (BSA-AuNCs@GoX) was designed for the sensitive detection of glucose with a limit of detection of 0.03 mM. The red fluorescence exhibited by the probe is quenched by the production of H

Abstract Statement of problem: Complete arch fixed implant-supported prostheses have gained substantial popularity as a treatment option for patients with edentulism or a failing dentition. While YouTube is a leading source of health-related information videos, the usefulness and quality of videos on YouTube about complete arch fixed implant-supported prostheses are unclear.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of videos on complete arch fixed implant-supported prostheses and assess their usefulness for the general population as an educational resource.
Material and methods: An electronic search for "complete arch fixed treatment using dental implants" was conducted on YouTube on October 10, 2021. The videos in English with a duration between 4 and 20 minutes were considered for the analysis. A total of 89 videos were subjected to quantitative analysis by using a usefulness score. Additionally, to evaluate video quality, 5-point global quality scale (GQS) criteria were applied. A 1-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare mean scores among different subgroups. The Pearson correlation analysis investigated the relationship among the usefulness score, GQS score, and video demographics, which include video content, source, type (academic or nonacademic), total views, and upload days (the days since the video was uploaded to YouTube) (α=.05).
Results: The mean number of views for the 89 selected videos was 193 321 with a mean daily upload of 1241. The mean ±standard deviation usefulness score was 1.55 ±1.35, with 78.7% of the videos rated poor, 20.2% moderate, and 1.1% excellent. The majority of videos included procedures involved (44.9%) and advantages (41.9%), and the least discussed topics were contraindications (7.9%) and prognosis and survival (6.7%). The GQS scoring had a mean score of 1.98 ±0.78 out of a total score of 5. While statistically significant differences were not found among the video source, total views or upload days, and usefulness score (P>.05), significant differences were found between the type of videos and usefulness score (P<.001).
Conclusions: The majority of videos on complete arch fixed implant-supported rehabilitation were rated as poor in usefulness for patient education. Quality videos on implant-supported fixed rehabilitation were lacking on YouTube (GQS score <1.50), with most videos consisting of marketing or promotional content rather than unbiased educational information.
