Abstract Multi-modal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can provide complementary information for automatic brain tumor segmentation, which is crucial for diagnosis and prognosis. While missing modality data is common in clinical practice and it can result in the collapse of most previous methods relying on complete modality data. Current state-of-the-art approaches cope with the situations of missing modalities by fusing multi-modal images and features to learn shared representations of tumor regions, which often ignore explicitly capturing the correlations among modalities and tumor regions. Inspired by the fact that modality information plays distinct roles to segment different tumor regions, we aim to explicitly exploit the correlations among various modality-specific information and tumor-specific knowledge for segmentation. To this end, we propose a Dual Disentanglement Network (D

Abstract Levodopa is the standard-of-care for Parkinson's disease, but continued loss of dopamine neurons with disease progression decreases its bioconversion to dopamine, leading to increased side effects and decreased efficacy. In theory, dopamine agonists could equal levodopa, but no approved oral "dopamine agonist" matches the efficacy of levodopa. There are consistent data in both primate models and in Parkinson's disease showing that selective high intrinsic activity D

Uncertainty-aware Human Digitization via Implicit Distribution Field

    2023

Abstract: ... realistic limbs. Code and models are available for research purposes at https://github.com/psyai-net/D ...

Abstract Realistic virtual humans play a crucial role in numerous industries, such as metaverse, intelligent healthcare, and self-driving simulation. But creating them on a large scale with high levels of realism remains a challenge. The utilization of deep implicit function sparks a new era of image-based 3D clothed human reconstruction, enabling pixel-aligned shape recovery with fine details. Subsequently, the vast majority of works locate the surface by regressing the deterministic implicit value for each point. However, should all points be treated equally regardless of their proximity to the surface? In this paper, we propose replacing the implicit value with an adaptive uncertainty distribution, to differentiate between points based on their distance to the surface. This simple ``value to distribution'' transition yields significant improvements on nearly all the baselines. Furthermore, qualitative results demonstrate that the models trained using our uncertainty distribution loss, can capture more intricate wrinkles, and realistic limbs. Code and models are available for research purposes at https://github.com/psyai-net/D-IF_release.

    Abstract: ... prostaglandin D ...

Abstract Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is one of the most infamous and widespread bacterial pathogens, causing a hard-to-estimate number of uncomplicated skin infections and probably hundreds of thousands to millions of more severe, invasive infections globally per year. S. aureus may also be acquired from animals, especially in the livestock industry. The interaction mechanism of host and S. aureus has significance for finding ways to against S. aureus infection and control inflammatory response of host, while the molecular biological activities after S. aureus infection, particular in inflammatory and immune cells are not fully clear. The present study aimed to explore whether pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) mediate prostaglandin D
