Abstract Gastrointestinal angiosarcoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor of the digestive tract, characterized by a very poor prognosis, with few patients surviving more than 1 year after diagnosis. This case report describes a 71-year-old female patient with a 3-year history of intermittent abdominal pain and significant exacerbation of abdominal pain and bloating 2 weeks prior to treatment. After surgical treatment, the pathological and immunohistochemical diagnosis was primary epithelioid angiosarcoma of the jejunal mesentery. The patient refused postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy and died 4 months after diagnosis due to widespread systemic metastasis. In addition, this article reviews 38 previously reported cases of primary gastrointestinal angiosarcoma, aiming to further understand angiosarcoma and thus guide clinical practitioners in providing more comprehensive treatment approaches.

Abstract The match and mismatch between the supply and demand of ecosystem services (ESs) are closely related to watershed sustainable development. Previous studies have mainly focused on annual or interdecadal matching relationships, and little is known about the seasonal variations of the ES supply–demand relationship. Based on the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model and statistical data, we took the Guanting Reservoir Basin, a transitional ecosystem from semi-arid areas to arid areas, as the study area to analyze the supply and demand of water provisioning services and soil conservation services and identified their matching relationship on the seasonal scale. The results showed that the water provisioning services was in short supply, with a supply–demand ratio of 0.81, whereas the supply of soil conservation services was in excess of demand. In terms of seasonal variation, the mismatch of water provisioning services was particularly severe in winter, followed by that in spring. The mismatch of soil conservation services was relatively severe in winter, followed by that in summer. Such mismatches imply that we must pay attention to the misallocation of resources caused by seasonal variations. It is crucial that policy-makers consider the role of reservoirs and water transfer in providing seasonal water sources for sustaining water resources in transitional areas, and optimize land management to prevent the aggravation of soil erosion in winter.

Title translation Relationship Between Hearing Loss and Cognitive Function in Elderly Chinese People: A Study Based on Propensity Score Matching.
Abstract Objective: To explore the relationship between hearing loss and cognitive function in the elderly population through propensity score matching method.
Methods: We analyzed the data of 7605 participants aged 60 and above who were included in the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). The non-substitutable 1∶1 nearest neighbor matching method without caliper value was used for propensity score matching and G-computation was used to estimate the average treatment effect (ATE) of hearing loss on all dimensions of cognitive function.
Results: Before matching, there were 3626 (47.68%) women, with 1409 (18.53%) of whom suffering from hearing loss and 3031 (39.86%) of whom suffering from cognitive impairment. After matching, 1409 subjects were included in the hearing loss group and 1409, in the normal hearing group, with both groups sharing similar distribution of basic demographic characteristics. The results for the average treatment effect of the population indicated that the cognitive function scores of the hearing loss group were lower than those of the normal hearing group, with the overall cognitive function being 0.593 points lower (95% confidence intervel [
Conclusion: Hearing loss adversely affects the orientation, memory, and language skills of the elderly population and forms a potential risk factor for cognitive impairment in the elderly population.

Abstract The widespread distribution of nanoplastics and nanomaterials in aquatic environments is of great concern. Nanoplastics have been found to modulate the toxicity of other environmental pollutants in organisms, while few studies have focused on their influences on nanomaterials. Thus, this study evaluated the influences of polystyrene (PS) nanoplastics on the toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) to zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos, including acute toxicity, oxidative stress, apoptosis, immunotoxicity, and metabolic capability. The results showed that the presence of PS nanoplastics could act as a carrier of the co-existing AgNPs in waters. The release ratio of Ag+ from AgNPs was up to 4.23%. The lethal effects of AgNPs on zebrafish embryos were not significantly changed by the co-added PS nanoplastics. Whereas, the alterations in gene expression related to antioxidant and metabolic capability in zebrafish (sod1, cat, mt2, mtf-1, and cox1) caused by AgNPs were significantly enhanced by the presence of PS nanoplastics, which simultaneously lowered the apoptosis and immunotoxicity (caspase9, nfkβ, cebp, and il-1β) induced by AgNPs. It suggests the presence of PS nanoplastics suppressed the AgNPs-induced genotoxicity in zebrafish. The released Ag+ from AgNPs may be responsible for the toxicity of AgNPs in zebrafish, while the subsequent absorption and agglomeration of AgNPs and the released Ag+ on PS nanoplastics may alleviate the toxicity.

Abstract Abstract Cellular activities are commonly associated with dynamic proteomic changes at the subcellular level. Although several techniques are available to quantify whole-cell protein turnover dynamics, such measurements often lack sufficient spatial resolution at the subcellular level. Herein, we report the development of prox-SILAC method that combines proximity-dependent protein labeling (APEX2/HRP) with metabolic incorporation of stable isotopes (pulse-SILAC) to map newly synthesized proteins with subcellular spatial resolution. We apply prox-SILAC to investigate proteome dynamics in the mitochondrial matrix and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) lumen. Our analysis reveals a highly heterogeneous distribution in protein turnover dynamics within macromolecular machineries such as the mitochondrial ribosome and respiratory complexes I-V, thus shedding light on their mechanism of hierarchical assembly. Furthermore, we investigate the dynamic changes of ER proteome when cells are challenged with stress or undergoing stimulated differentiation, identifying subsets of proteins with unique patterns of turnover dynamics, which may play key regulatory roles in alleviating stress or promoting differentiation. We envision that prox-SILAC could be broadly applied to profile protein turnover at various subcellular compartments, under both physiological and pathological conditions.

Abstract The official launch of the Chinese BeiDou Navigation Satellite System with global coverage (BDS-3) presents significant opportunities for various applications, including precision agriculture and autonomous driving, among others. With its global spatial coverage and hybrid space constellation comprising geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO), inclined geosynchronous orbit (IGSO), and medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellites, BDS can significantly contribute to various GNSS remote sensing applications that require real-time, precise water surface height measurements with high temporal and spatial resolution, such as in tidal monitoring. In this paper, we propose a carrier-phase-based method for BDS Reflectometry (BDS-R) to precisely retrieve real-time water surface height. Firstly, the BDS-R altimetry method is introduced, along with a detailed explanation of the data processing procedures. Secondly, a quality control method tailored to the characteristics of low-cost BDS devices is developed. Thirdly, a land altimetry experiment is conducted to evaluate the precision of BDS-R and analyze the specific contribution of the BDS hybrid constellation. Finally, a water surface altimetry experiment validates the real-time monitoring capabilities for low-cost BDS-R. The results indicate that low-cost BDS-R can achieve real-time centimeter-level water level monitoring with a temporal resolution of 1 s in lakefront environments. The performance of BDS-R can be significantly improved by the BDS hybrid constellation, particularly IGSOs. It is concluded that low-cost BDS-R has great potential for promoting ground-based GNSS remote sensing applications.

Abstract The periosteum, rich in neurovascular networks, bone progenitor cells, and stem cells, is vital for bone repair. Current artificial periosteal materials face challenges in mechanical strength, bacterial infection, and promoting osteogenic differentiation and angiogenesis. To address these issues, we adjusted the electrospinning ratio of poly-ε-caprolactone and chitosan and incorporated Zn doping whitlockite with polydopamine coating into a nanofiber membrane. After a series of characterizations, optimal results were achieved with a poly-ε-caprolactone: chitosan ratio of 8:1 and 5% nanoparticle content.
