Abstract Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Au$_{3}$ crystallizes in the same non-centrosymmetric cubic structure as the prototypical Kondo insulator Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Pt$_{3}$. Here we report the physical properties of Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Au$_{3}$ single crystals using magnetization, thermodynamic, and electrical-transport measurements. Magnetic-susceptibility and heat-capacity data reveal antiferromagnetic (AFM) order below $T_N=3.2$ K. The magnetic entropy $S_{\rm mag}$ reaches $R$ln2 slightly above $T_N$, which suggests localized $4f$-moments in a doublet ground state. Multiple field-induced magnetic transitions are observed at temperatures below $T_N$, which indicate a complex spin structure with competing interactions. Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Au$_{3}$ shows semimetallic behavior in electrical resistivity measurements in contrast to the majority of reported Cerium-based 343 compounds. Electrical-resistivity measurements under hydrostatic pressure reveal a slight enhancement of $T_N$ under pressures up to 2.3 GPa, which supports a scenario wherein Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Au$_{3}$ belongs to the far left of the Doniach phase diagram dominated by Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) interactions. Using realistic many-body simulations, we confirm the semi-metallic electronic structure of Ce$_{3}$Bi$_{4}$Au$_{3}$ and quantitatively reproduce its local moment behavior in the paramagnetic state.

Abstract Objective: To investigate endothelial cell loss (ECL) associated with Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) donor tissues preloaded in the DMEK RAPID transport system after 1 and 5 days and to compare prestamping with 2 different F-mark inks.
Methods: DMEK donor tissues were stripped, marked with gentian violet dye applied as an F-mark, trephined, stained with trypan blue, and then preloaded into the DMEK RAPID transport system by an eye bank technician. Preloaded DMEK tissues were then unfolded and stained with calcein AM after 1 or 5 days of storage. Tissues were imaged, analyzed for total tissue ECL, and immunostained for corneal endothelium markers zonular occludens-1 and xCD166. Additionally, ECL and the intensity of an F-mark caused by 2 different inks were quantified.
Results: Preloaded DMEK tissues displayed an average ECL of 11.9% ± 4.5% (n = 8) at 1 day and 9.9% ± 4.2% (n = 9) at 5 days. No difference was found between the 2 groups. Zonular occludens-1 and activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM; also know as CD166) staining showed that the corneal endothelial monolayer remained intact on preloaded tissues. On 5-day preloaded DMEK tissues, the average ECL and mean grayscale caused by the Keir Surgical ink F-mark and the Cardinal Health ink F-mark were 4.3% ± 0.8% and 158.5 ± 13.9% and 5.0% ± 1.1% and 142.9% ± 20.0%, respectively. No difference was found between the F-mark inks.
Conclusion: Preloaded DMEK donor tissues resulted in an acceptable ECL range after 1 and 5 days of storage and were deemed suitable for transplantation. Both F-mark inks are acceptable for prestamping preloaded DMEK tissues prior to surgical transplantation with comparable ECL and intensities.

Abstract Abstract: We report 18 F-flutemetamol PET/CT finding in an 88-year-old man with cognitive impairment and transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy. Early phase PET/CT images showed significantly increased myocardial uptake, but there was no myocardial uptake in delayed phase PET/CT images. A dual-time-point amyloid PET/CT imaging may be helpful to diagnose and differentiate subtypes of amyloid cardiomyopathy in patients with suspected cardiac amyloidosis.

Abstract Objective: Intratumor heterogeneity has prognostic value in cervical cancer, which can be depicted on 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose ( 18 F-FDG) PET/computed tomography (PET/CT) and then quantitatively characterized by texture features. This study aimed to evaluate the discriminative performance and predictive ability of the texture features in determining lymph node involvement in cervical cancer.
Methods: A total of 101 patients with newly diagnosed cervical cancer, who underwent pre-treatment whole-body 18 F-FDG PET/CT imaging were retrospectively recruited. Patients were categorized based on their nodal status. Thirty-five radiomic features together with the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), metabolic tumor volume (MTV) and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) of the primary cervical tumors were extracted. Conventional indices were used to build logistic regression model and texture features were used to build random forest model. The performances for differentiating nodal status were assessed by receiver operating characteristic analysis.
Results: Conventional PET indices were significantly higher in patients with nodal involvement compared to those without: SUVmax = 14.22 vs. 10.05; MTV = 57.02 vs. 28.73; TLG = 492.8 vs. 188.8 ( P  < 0.05). Nineteen radiomic features describing regional heterogeneity were significantly different between nodal involvements. Area under the curves of the models with conventional indices and PET texture features for discriminating nodal status were 0.72 and 0.76, respectively.
Conclusion: PET-derived radiomic features had moderate performance in discriminating nodal involvement in cervical cancer; and they did not outperform model based on conventional indices.

Abstract A frustrated Lewis pair approach is used for the monoselective C–F activation of α-trifluoromethyl styrenes. Selective C–F activation of α-trifluoromethyl styrenes with trispentafluorophenylborane (BCF) in partnership with tri(ortho-tolyl)phosphine or 2,4,6-triphenylpyridine (TPPy) generates γ-substituted α,α-difluoropropenyl phosphonium or pyridinium salts (respectively). The ability to further functionalize such products at the α and γ-positions is demonstrated through nucleophilic substitutions and metal catalyzed Suzuki couplings to generate a range of difluoromethyl and 1,1-difluoroolefin products.
