    Abstract The vertical detachment energy (VDE) is a vital factor for predicting the stability of anions that have important applications in the atom, molecule and cluster science. Due to the synthetic or characterization difficulty of anions, accurate and efficient predictions of VDE independent of laboratory data have always been an appealing task to remedy the experimental deficiencies. Unfortunately, the generally adopted CCSD(T) and electron propagator theory (EPT) methods have respectively been proven to be reliable but very cost-expensive, and cost-effective but sometimes problematic when Koopman's theorem is invalid. Here, we for the first time introduced and benchmarked a series of model chemistry composite methods (e. g., CBS-QB3, G4 and W1BD) on calculating VDE for 57 molecular anions. Notably, CBS-QB3 exceeds the accuracy of CCSD(T) while approaching the economy of EPT. Therefore, we highly recommend the composite method CBS-QB3 to compute VDEs for molecular anions in the attractive "killing two birds with one stone" manner.

    Abstract The nitrogen deposition process, as an important phenomenon of global climate change and an important link in the nitrogen cycle, has had serious and far-reaching impacts on grassland ecosystems. This study aimed to investigate the survival adaptation strategies of plants of different functional groups under nitrogen deposition, and the study identified the following outcomes of differences in biomass changes by conducting in situ simulated nitrogen deposition experiments while integrating plant nutrient contents and soil physicochemical properties: (1) nitrogen addition enhanced the aboveground biomass of grassland communities, in which Poaceae were significantly affected by nitrogen addition. Additionally, nitrogen addition significantly influenced plant total nitrogen and total phosphorus; (2) nitrogen addition improved the plant growth environment, alleviated plant nitrogen limitation, and promoted plant phosphorus uptake; and (3) there was variability in the biomass responses of different functional groups to nitrogen addition. The level of nitrogen addition was the primary factor affecting differences in biomass changes, while nitrogen addition frequency was an important factor affecting changes in plant community structure.

    Abstract Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common gastrointestinal malignancy. Dysregulation of circular RNAs (circRNAs) is associated with the progression of CRC. However, the role of circ_0013339 (hsa_circ_0013339) in CRC is still not clear.
    Methods: The levels of circ_0013339, miR-136-5p, and SRY-box transcription factor 9 (SOX9) in CRC were gauged by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Colony formation and 5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) assays were used to detect cell proliferation. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK8) assay was used to measure cell viability. Western blot assay was performed to examine protein expression. The relationship between miR-136-5p and circ_0013339 or SOX9 was tested by dual-luciferase reporter assay. The effect of sh-circ_0013339 on tumor growth in vivo was examined by xenograft experiments.
    Results: Circ_0013339 expression was elevated in CRC tissues and cells, and circ_0013339 knockdown diminished the growth of CRC cells. MiR-136-5p was regulated by circ_0013339. MiR-136-5p deficiency ameliorated the effects of circ_0013339 silencing on CRC cell malignant behaviors. Circ_0013339 modulated SOX9 expression through miR-136-5p. SOX9 addition reversed the effects of miR-136-5p overexpression on CRC cell behaviors. Moreover, silencing of circ_0013339 suppressed the growth of xenograft tumors in vivo.
    Conclusion: Circ_0013339 regulates the progression of CRC through miR-136-5p-dependent regulation of SOX9, uncovering a novel regulatory mechanism of circ_0013339 in CRC.

    Abstract Abstract: Hidradenocarcinoma is quite rare in clinical practice. Herein, we describe the 68 Ga-FAPI and 18 F-FDG PET/CT findings of hidradenocarcinoma of the head and neck in a 75-year-old man. In the present case, the primary tumor and secondary lesions showed intense accumulation of 68 Ga-FAPI but only slight 18 F-FDG uptake. This case demonstrates that 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT might be used as a helpful tool for evaluating hidradenocarcinoma.
