    Abstract Purpose: Our purpose is to report a patient with secondary intraocular mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) who experienced spontaneous regression after diagnostic vitrectomy.
    Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and imaging features of the case. Multimodal imaging, including fundus photograph, optical coherence tomography, fundus fluorescein angiography and ultrasound scan was presented.
    Results: A 71-year-old female presented with a subretinal lesion temporal to macula and scattered multifocal creamy lesions deep to retina in her left eye. Optical coherence tomography of the left eye showed multifocal nodular hyper-reflective signals between the Bruch's membrane and RPE. She had a history of gastric MALT lymphoma. Diagnostic vitrectomy was performed. IL-10 level of aqueous was 187.7pg/ml. Cytology, gene rearrangement and flow cytometry of the vitreous were inconclusive. Systemic evaluation was normal. Secondary vitreoretinal MALT lymphoma was considered. Interestingly, her subretinal lesions regressed gradually without any chemotherapy. And IL-10 level of aqueous declined to 64.3pg/ml.
    Conclusions: Secondary vitreoretinal MALT lymphoma is extremely rare. Spontaneous regression of intraocular lymphoma does occur.

    Abstract This research analyzed data from 5106 participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2005-2006 to explore the link between indoor allergen concentrations, serum IgE levels, and allergic diseases. The study found that 14.9% of participants reported having asthma, with significant differences noted in the concentrations of certain indoor allergens, specifically dust dog, mite, and cat allergens, between asthma and non-asthma groups. Furthermore, positivity rates for inhalant allergen-specific IgE and total IgE were higher in the asthma group. However, the correlations between most inhalant allergen IgE, including total IgE, and indoor allergen concentrations were very weak. These findings suggest that the relationship between indoor allergen concentrations and asthma incidence is complex, indicating a potential need for personalized allergen prevention strategies based on disease type and patient sensitization.

    Abstract Background: Cytology and high-risk human papilloma virus (hrHPV) cotesting is the mainstay in the detection of cervical carcinoma.
    Methods: Endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC) is divided into HPV-associated adenocarcinoma (HPVA) and HPV-independent adenocarcinoma (HPVI) by the World Health Organization classification (2020). The detection effect of cotesting is suggested to be different among EAC subtypes and precursors, but has not well-documented yet. In this study, the authors retrospectively analyzed cotesting among adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS), HPVA, and HPVI. The cohort included 569 AIS and 498 EAC consisting of 371 (74.5%) HPVA, 111 (22.3%) HPVI, and 16 (3.2%) adenocarcinoma, not otherwise specified.
    Results: The authors found that AIS patients were significantly younger than HPVA and HPVI (mean ± SD, years: 40.7 ± 8.6; HPVA, 44.8 ± 9.3; HPVI, 50.0 ± 11.3; p < .001) and had a higher prevalence of concurrent squamous intraepithelial lesions (75.5%, HPVA, 37.2%; HPVI, 12.6%; p < .001). The detection rate of hrHPV test or cytology was substantially higher in AIS and HPVA than in HPVI (97.7% and 90.2% vs. 16.5%, p < .001, or 71.1% and 71.9% vs. 60.7%, p = .042, respectively). Cytology and hrHPV cotesting was superior to a single test in the detection of EAC and AIS. The detection rate of cotesting amounted to 100% in AIS and 94.3% in HPVA but was substantially lower in HPVI (72.2%) (p < .001).
    Conclusions: The authors conclude that cytology and hrHPV cotesting can maximize the detection effect for HPVA and AIS but is not optimal for HPVI.

    Abstract Verification of the geographical origin of rapeseed oil is essential to protect consumers from fraudulent products. A prospective study was conducted on 45 samples from three rapeseed oil-producing areas in Qinghai Province, which were analyzed by GC-FID and GC-MS. To assess the accuracy of the prediction of origin, classification models were developed using PCA, OPLS-DA, and LDA. It was found that multivariate analysis combined with PCA separate 96% of the samples, and the correct sample discrimination rate based on the OPLS-DA model was over 98%.     Abstract Due to the global prevalence of hyperuricemia (HUA), there is growing interest in research on uric acid (UA). HUA is a common condition that has various adverse consequences, including gout and kidney disease. However, recent studies have also implicated UA in the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) such as atrial fibrillation (AF) and coronary heart disease (CHD). Experimental and clinical research has extensively demonstrated the detrimental effects of elevated serum UA levels on cardiovascular health. Furthermore, serum UA levels have been identified as predictors of CVD outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and catheter ablation. Additionally, the use of UA-lowering therapy holds important implications for the management of CVD. This review aims to consolidate the current evidence on the relationship between serum UA and CVD.

    Abstract Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death due to target organ injury from cardiovascular disease. Although there are many treatments, only one-sixth of hypertensive patients effectively control their blood pressure. Therefore, further understanding the pathogenesis of hypertension is essential for the treatment of hypertension. Much research shows that immune cells play an important role in the pathogenesis of hypertension. Here, we discuss the roles of different immune cells in hypertension. Many immune cells participate in innate and adaptive immune responses, such as monocytes/macrophages, neutrophils, dendritic cells, NK cells, and B and T lymphocytes. Immune cells infiltrate the blood vessels, kidneys, and hearts and cause damage. The mechanism is that immune cells secrete cytokines such as interleukin, interferon, and tumor necrosis factor, which affect the inflammatory reaction, oxidative stress, and kidney sodium water retention, and finally aggravate or reduce the dysfunction, remodeling, and fibrosis of the blood vessel, kidney, and heart to participate in blood pressure regulation. This article reviews the research progress on immune cells and hypertension.

    Abstract Background: Interleukin-23p19 (IL-23p19) has been demonstrated to be involved in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and atherosclerosis. This study aimed to examine whether IL-23p19 regulates cardiac remodeling processes and explore its possible mechanisms.
    Methods and results: Transverse aortic constriction was performed to construct a mouse cardiac remodeling model, and sham surgery was used as a control. The results showed that IL-23p19 expression was increased in the heart after surgery and may be mainly produced by cardiac macrophages. Knockout of IL-23p19 attenuated M1 macrophage polarization, reduced ferroptosis, improved the process of cardiac remodeling and alleviated cardiac dysfunction in TAC mice. Cell culture experiments found that macrophages were the main cause of ferroptosis when phenylephrine (PE) was added, and blocking ferroptosis with ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1), a ferroptosis inhibitor, significantly inhibited M1 macrophage polarization. Treatment with Fer-1 also improved cardiac remodeling and alleviated cardiac dysfunction in IL-23p19
    Conclusion: Knockout of IL-23p19 may attenuate M1 macrophage polarization to improve the cardiac remodeling process by reducing macrophage ferroptosis, and IL-23p19 may be a potential target for the prevention and treatment of cardiac remodeling.

    Abstract Drawing inspiration from the initiating amino acid modification in biosynthetic peptides, we have successfully demonstrated a biomimetic mechanism for N-to-C terminal extension in prebiotic peptide synthesis. This achievement was accomplished by using acetylated amino acid amides as the N-terminal substrate for peptide synthesis and amino acid amides as the C-terminal extension, with the reaction carried out in a dry-wet cycle at 80 °C without requiring any activators. This provides a plausible pathway for the formation of prebiotic peptides.

    Abstract In this study, metabolomics and proteomics were performed to investigate the fluctuations of non-volatile compounds and proteins in tea leaves from three tea cultivars with varying colours during withering. A total of 2798 compounds were detected, exhibiting considerable variations in amino acids, phenylpropanoids, and flavonoids. The ZH1 cultivar displayed increased levels of amino acids but decreased levels of polyphenols, which might be associated with the up-regulation of enzymes responsible for protein degradation and subsequent amino acid production, as well as the down-regulation of enzymes involved in phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis. The FUD and ZH1 cultivars had elevated levels of flavanols and flavanol-O-glycosides, which were regulated by the upregulation of FLS. The ZJ and ZH1 cultivars displayed elevated levels of theaflavin and peroxidase. This work presents a novel investigation into the alterations of metabolites and proteins between tea cultivars during withering, and helps with the tea cultivar selection and manufacturing development.
