ABSTRACT The article addresses some of the characteristics linked to the significance of "what is Cuban" in the visual arts, as part of the aesthetic problems and the existence of a Cuban art that has been a subject widely discussed. From these keys we recognize the figure of Carlos Enríquez to characterize his personality and work from a vision of his criollismo as part of the Cuban nationality and identity, and the dynamics of some of these elements to be taken into account in a didactics by arts professionals in defense of cultural identity. Keywords: Carlos Enríquez, Cuban painting, aesthetics, Cuban nationality, didactics.

Abstract Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) increases the risk of adverse events in pregnancy and jeopardizes long-term health of the mother and offspring. There is currently no consensus as to what screening strategies improve the efficiency of GDM diagnosis. Which criteria should be used? Is the one-step or two-step procedure better? There is no agreement as to what the best dietary approach in the treatment of GDM is. In addition, different nutritional interventions have been studied in the prevention of GDM. The Mediterranean diet seems to be effective in preventing GDM and other maternofoetal outcomes. We review herein our experience using the one-step criteria for GDM screening; the treatment and prevention strategies used; and the overall impact of nutrition on maternofoetal health.

Abstract This research provides a deeper knowledge in the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) insight by using the bibliometric technique. The existing gap between the traditional literatura reviews and previous bibliometric studies, is covered as it is the first comprehensive analysis carried out in applying quantity, quality, and structural indicators. Web of Science Core Collection was used as the source of information, considering it the most accurate and suitable data base for these studies. This research covers the wider period-of-time possible, from 1992 to 2020, with a final sample of 771 articles in 466 reviews. Quantity indicators show the high interest that the BSC still has in the scholar's community, pointing out Kaplan and Norton as the most productive authors, and confirming that 'management', 'business' and 'accountability' are its most common field of activity, although others as 'systems' and sustainability' are coming to prominence; 'Balanced Scorecard' appears as the most remarkable keyword. Quality indicators found 32,706 citations, with Kaplan and Norton occupying again top positions as well as 'Harvard Business Review' as the most impacting review both in cited articles and in average. Co-citation analysis reveals the existence of a triple corecluster for articles, based on the theory, literature reviews, and case-studies.

Abstract Purpose: High success rates and minimal complications have consolidated arthroscopy as the therapeutic alternative of choice for minimally invasive treatment of internal disorders (ID) of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). However, there is no certainty regarding the demographic and clinical factors associated with the technique's success or failure. This study was performed to analyze the effectiveness of arthroscopy regarding pain and the mandibular dynamics and also to determine whether variables such as age, sex, and preoperative Wilkes stage influence the results.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted involving 92 patients with ID of the TMJ between September 2017 and February 2020. In all cases, a first stage of intra-articular lysis and lavage was executed. As needed, a phase of operative arthroscopy or arthroscopic discopexy was implemented.
Results: A total of 152 arthroscopies were performed. Both the variation in pain and mouth opening in patients with ID of the TMJ treated were statistically significant for the follow-up periods studied. Better results were observed for patients with lower Wilkes stages. No association with age was found.
Conclusion: Based on the results, we recommend early intervention as soon as an ID in the TMJ is detected.

Abstract Background: Plastic scintillators have been used as radiation detectors for the past few years, as they are water-equivalent and independent of the dose, dose rate, and angle of incidence. In addition, they are also independent of the presence of a magnetic field and could be used for in vivo dosimetry in an MR-Linac. With the advent of a new commercial scintillation detector, Blue Physics Model 10, its characterization has been performed on an MR-Linac with a view to future applications.
Purpose: To perform the dosimetric characterization and study potential applications of a novel commercial plastic scintillation detector in a MR-Linac.
Methods: Scintillation detector description, calibration procedure, short-term repeatability, dose-response linearity, dose-rate dependence, angular dependence, and temperature dependence have been studied. Percent-depth-dose (PDD) and beam profiles were measured for small fields and a standard field, as well as output factors, for comparison with other PTW detectors: a diamond diode and PinPoint and Semiflex 3D ionization chambers. The suitability of the plastic scintillator for in vivo dosimetry in a magnetic field has also been studied measuring the dose to a point in an anthropomorphic phantom while acquiring MR imaging. This measured dose was compared with that calculated with Monaco planning system and with that measured with a PTW Semiflex 3D chamber, the latter without acquiring MR images.
Results: Short-term repeatability presented negligible variations (<0.4%) for 100 and 20 MU. Similar results were obtained for dose-response linearity and dose-rate dependence. A small angular dependence was determined, while the scintillator resulted practically independent of the temperature. PDDs showed excellent agreement except in the build-up region, and calculated penumbras with the profiles given by the scintillator were between the ones obtained with the diamond detector and the PinPoint ionization chamber. Measured OF with the scintillator were the highest between all detectors, 1.26% higher than the value obtained with the microdiamond for the smallest field measured, 0.5 × 0.5 cm
Conclusion: The Blue Physics model 10 scintillation system showed excellent dosimetric characteristics. Its response independent of the temperature and the presence of a magnetic field make it suitable for in vivo dosimetry in an MR-Linac while acquiring MR images, which could solve the impossibility of performing a dosimetric QA for each adapted plan. Furthermore, its temporal resolution allows independent radiation pulses to be measured and visualized, which could be used in future applications.
