Abstract In this work, nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) was added to a lab-scale continuous stirring tank reactor (CSTR) for food waste slurry treatment, and the effect of dosing rate and dosage of nZVI were attempted to be changed. The results showed that anaerobic digestion (AD) efficiency and biomethanation stability were optimum under the daily dosing and dosage of 0.48 g/gTCOD. The average daily methane (CH

Abstract Many urban residents have recently lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made employment vulnerability in cities attained attention. It is thus important to explore the relationship between urbanization and employment. This study quantitatively analyzes spatiotemporal evolution and data correlation of urbanization and vulnerable employment, and explores the role urbanization plays in vulnerable employment by using historical data on 163 countries in the period 1991-2019 to test the theoretical hypothesis. The results show: It's clearly observed that there is a high correlation between the rate of urbanization and that of vulnerable employment, and the examples of G7 and BRICs are for it. The estimated urbanization yields a negative and statistically significant regression coefficient (-0.168), indicating that urbanization has a negative effect on vulnerable employment. If the urbanization rate increased by 1 %, the rate of vulnerable employment decreased by 0.168 %. The rural-urban sector conversion and changes in employment relationship driven by urbanization account for this. Countries with different income groups or populations have reacted differently to the rise in urbanization. Vulnerable employment in higher-income countries has been more significantly affected by the rise in urbanization, and more populous countries are more sensitive to it as well. These findings provide evidence for how urbanization promotes employment and decent work.

Abstract Thermodynamic therapy (TDT) based on oxygen-independent free radicals exhibits promising potential for the treatment of hypoxic tumors. However, its therapeutic efficacy is seriously limited by the premature release of the drug and the free radical scavenging effect of glutathione (GSH) in tumors. Herein, we report a GSH depletion and biosynthesis inhibition strategy using EGCG/Fe-camouflaged gold nanorod core/ZIF-8 shell nanoparticles embedded with azo initiator 2,2'-azobis[2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl) propane] dihydrochloride (AIPH) and L-buthionine-sulfoximine (BSO) for tumor-targeting photothermal (PTT) and thermodynamic therapy (TDT). This nanoplatform (GNR@ZIF-8-AIPH/BSO@EGCG/Fe, GZABEF) endows a pH-responsive release performance. With the 67 kDa lamin receptor (67LR)-targeting ability of EGCG, GZABEF could selectively release oxygen-independent free radicals in tumor cells under 1064 nm laser irradiation. More importantly, Fe

Abstract Chronic hepatitis B virus infection is not only an important global public health problem but also an important challenge in our country. Although there are some vaccines for hepatitis B and its prevalence is increasing year by year, there are still many patients in need of treatment. Neutralizing antibody as an important treatment for HIV is also promising in the field of hepatitis B cure. Current studies on neutralizing antibodies related to hepatitis B virus mainly include G12, Bc1.187, H017, H019, BX-182, KR127 and 2H5-A14, among which H017 and H019 combined application and 2H5-A14 have achieved quite good results in immune tolerance and neutralization activity in animal experiments. This article reviews the research progress of neutralizing antibodies related to hepatitis B virus to explore the possible development direction and application prospect in the future.

Abstract As an effective solution for data visualization and analysis, the large-scale high-resolution display wall system has been widely used in various scientific research fields. On the basis of investigating existing system cases and research results, this paper introduces the SHU-VAS system (60 screens, 120 megapixels) for data visualization and analysis. In order to improve the efficiency of human-computer interaction in large-scale high-definition display wall systems, we propose an interaction framework based on gesture and double-precision pointing technology. During the interaction process, an adaptive mode switching method based on user action features is used to switch between rough and precise control modes. In the evaluation experiments, we analyzed the characteristics of different interaction methods in movement and navigation interaction tasks, and verified the effectiveness of the gesture-based interaction framework proposed in this paper.

Abstract Vascular calcification (VC) is recognized as a crucial risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Our previous report revealed that the osteogenic transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) plays a role in this process. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. Notably, receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1) has been implicated in the development of cardiovascular diseases, yet its role and mechanisms in VC remain unexplored. To address this gap, we established models using chronic kidney disease mice and calcifying VSMCs to investigate the impact of RIPK1 on VC. Subsequently, a RIPK1-specific inhibitor (NEC-1) was applied in both
