Abstract Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) represents as a prevalent and formidable hematological malignancy, characterized by notably low 5-year survival rates. Ferroptosis has been found to be correlated with cancer initiation, therapeutic response, and clinical outcome. Nevertheless, the involvement of Ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) in AML remains ambiguous. Five independent AML cohorts totaling 1,470 (GSE37642, GSE12417, GSE10358, Beat-AML, and TCGA-AML) patients with clinical information were used to systematically investigated the influence of these FRGs expression on outcome and tumor microenvironment. The integration of these datasets led to the subdivision into training and validation sets. Nineteen FRGs were identified as correlated with the overall survival (OS) of AML patients, primarily enriched in ferroptosis, fatty acid metabolism, and leukemia-related signaling pathways. The prognostic signature, consisting of 11 FRGs, was formulated using LASSO-Cox stepwise regression analysis. Patients with high-risk scores exhibited reduced survival compared to those in the low-risk group. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis underscored the signature's robust predictive accuracy. The high predictive efficacy was confirmed by both internal and external validation datasets. Leukemia and signaling related to immune regulation were mainly enriched pathways of the differentially expressed genes by comparing high- and low-risk groups. The immune composition deconvolution might indicate an immunosuppressive niche in the high-risk patients. The pRRophetic algorithm exploration unveiled chemical drugs with potentially sensitivity among patients in both groups. Collectively, our study developed a ferroptosis-derived prognostic signature that provides the OS prediction and identifies the immune microenvironment for AML patients on large-scale AML cohorts.

Abstract Pneumoconiosis is a collection of lung diseases caused by inhaling mineral dust that poses an important risk to public health worldwide. Effective clinical treatments are currently limited, but pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) has shown promise in treating respiratory diseases. This review aims to assess the effectiveness of PR strategies for treating pneumoconiosis. We searched research studies that investigated the effectiveness of PR interventions for pneumoconiosis patients in international scientific databases and comprehensively reviewed PR strategies for the treatment of pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconiosis patients are increasingly being treated with a multimodal PR program. PR interventions could save healthcare costs, reduce dyspnea, improve exercise performance, and enhance overall health-related quality of life in patients with pneumoconiosis. PR interventions are effective in improving respiratory function and quality of life in patients with pneumoconiosis. However, further research is needed to determine the optimal PR strategies for pneumoconiosis patients and to investigate the long-term effects of these interventions.

Abstract Background: More than half of Chinese older adults over 60 are suffering from hearing loss, which might increase the risk of depression. Outdoor activity engagement is a key factor to alleviate depression symptoms. This study is conducted to analyze the associations between hearing loss and depression, and explore the role of outdoor activity engagement on depression.
Methods: This study was based on the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS), which collected the health and demographic information of elderly people in 23 provinces in China. In total, 12,333 older adults over 60 were recruited in the final analysis. Participants' risk of depressive symptoms was assessed using the 10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD-10). The relationship between self-reported hearing loss and depression in older adults was tested using logistic regression models.
Results: The findings suggested a significant relationship between self-reported hearing loss and depressive symptoms (OR = 1.513, 95%CI = 1.391-1.646, P < 0.001). In addition, outdoor activity engagement have a moderation effect on self-reported hearing loss, among which entertainment and physical activities can better reduce the risk of depression.
Conclusion: Evidence from this study suggests that older adults with self-reported hearing loss can perform appropriate outdoor activities. Early recognition and intervention in hearing loss may reduce the risk of depression.

Abstract Mucinous cystic tumors of low malignant potential (MCTLMP) are rare urachal neoplasms. The morphological characteristics and clinical prognosis of MCTLMP is similar to that of mucinous cystic tumors occurring in the ovary and appendix. After complete resection, almost no cases of recurrence or metastasis have been reported. Because MCTLMP is rare, it may be missed in the clinic. MCTLMP can lead to the formation of pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), which manifests as the widespread production of mucus in the abdominal cavity and makes the disease complex or difficult to diagnose. At present, only 3 cases of MCTLMP with PMP have been reported in the literature. In the present study a fourth case of urachal MCTLMP in a 74-year-old male that resulted in widespread PMP is presented. Initially, a multilocular cystic lesion was revealed in the urachal duct area at the anterior upper margin of the bladder after a patient, experiencing lower abdominal pain, was imaged. As revealed using light microscopy, the cyst was lined with a mucous columnar epithelium, and part of the epithelium indicated pseudolamellar hyperplasia and papillary structures. The cells indicated mild atypia and low mitotic activity. There was no stromal infiltration of tumor cells, and a large amount of mucous exudate was observed. As preoperative computed tomography examination suggested the presence of a large amount of ascites and there were increased levels of blood tumor markers, carcinoembryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 125, clinicians considered that the diagnosis maybe a malignant tumor of the urachal gland with peripheral dissemination. However, the diagnosis of MCTLMP with PMP was confirmed by histopathological examination. The mass was completely removed, along with part of the peritoneum and bladder wall as these were within the tumor margin. The appendix appeared normal during surgery. A one off dose of intraperitoneal infusion chemotherapy with 1,000 mg 5-fluorouracil was performed after surgery. No recurrence was observed during the 8-month follow-up period.
