Abstract Assisted reproductive technology is a complex medical intervention with many potential social sensitivities. Within this domain, oocyte cryopreservation has emerged as an important research area for preserving female fertility. Against the backdrop of the hotly debated first legal case in China of a single woman wishing to freeze her eggs, and the implementation of the 'three-child policy' in China, there is an urgent need to evaluate policies and address ethical considerations surrounding oocyte cryopreservation for non-medical reasons. This review examines current policies, explores China's practices and research, and examines the latest ethical challenges surrounding non-medical oocyte cryopreservation. It develops strategies and recommendations that will be relevant in China and other developing countries seeking to navigate this complex landscape.

Abstract Background: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a malignant tumor with a high mortality rate. Resistance to chemotherapy remains a major challenge related to cancer treatment, and increasing the sensitivity of cancer cells to therapeutic drugs is a major focus of cancer treatment.
Aims: We purposed to explore the role of Metformin in CCA involved in chemotherapeutic sensitivity and Pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) through regulating mitochondrial apoptosis in the present study.
Methods: CCA cell lines of HCC9810 and RBE were treated with Metformin companied with antagonists or agonists of PKM2, cells sensitivity to Gemcitabine, cell migration and invasion along with apoptosis, which is mediated by JC-1 and LDH were assayed.
Results: Our results indicated that Metformin and Gemcitabine exhibit synergistic effect on inhibition of cholangiocarcinoma cell viability, cell migration and invasion as well as promotion apoptosis of cholangiocarcinoma cells. In vivo, Metformin combined with Gemcitabine has cooperation in inhibiting the growth of cholangiocarcinoma cell-derived tumors. Moreover, Metformin and Gemcitabine inhibited expression of PKM2 and PDHB in HCC9810 and RBE.
Conclusion: Our study suggested that Metformin may increase the response of cholangiocarcinoma cells to Gemcitabine by suppressing PKM2 to activate mitochondrial apoptosis.

Abstract Objective: To retrospectively analyze the clinical and genetic characteristics of six patients with Acromicric dysplasia due to variants of the FBN1 gene.
Methods: Six patients who had visited the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University between February 2018 and October 2020 were selected as the study subjects. Clinical data of the patients were collected. High-throughput sequencing was carried out. And candidate variants were verified by Sanger sequencing.
Results: All of the six patients had presented with severe short stature (< 3s), brachydactyly, short and broad hands and feet. Other manifestations included joint stiffness, facial dysmorphism, delayed bone age, liver enlargement, coracoid femoral head, and lumbar lordosis. Genetic testing revealed that all had harbored heterozygous variants of the FBN1 gene. Patient 1 had harbored a c.5183C>T (p.A1728V) missense variant in exon 42, which had derived from his father (patient 2). Patient 3 had harbored a c.5284G>A (p.G1762S) missense variant in exon 43, which had derived from her mother (patient 4). Patient 5 had harbored a c.5156G>T (p.C1719F) missense variant in exon 42, which was de novo in origin. Patient 6 had harbored a c.5272G>T (p.D1758Y) missense variant in exon 43, which was also de novo in origin. The variants carried by patients 1, 3 and 6 were known to be pathogenic. Based on the guidelines from the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), the FBN1: c.5156G>T was rated as a pathogenic variant (PS2+PM1+PM2_Supporting +PM5+PP3).
Conclusion: All of the six patients had severe short stature and a variety of other clinical manifestations, which may be attributed to the variants of the FBN1 gene.

Abstract Objective: To explore the effects of nifedipine tablets combined with magnesium sulfate on blood coagulation indexes, oxidative stress and levels of NO and ET-1 in patients with Pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome (PIH).
Methods: A total of 110 patients with hypertension during pregnancy were admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2021. According to the random number table method, 110 patients were divided into the control group and the therapy group, with 55 cases in each group. The blood pressure levels (systolic and diastolic blood pressure), coagulation indexes (TT, PT, APTT, Fib), oxidative stress indexes (LPO, MDA, SOD), vascular endothelial function (ET-1, NO), clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.
Results: After therapy, the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of the two groups were significantly decreased, and the therapy group was significantly lower than the control group (
Conclusion: Nifedipine tablets combined with magnesium sulfate in the treatment of PIH can improve the blood coagulation function of patients, reduce oxidative stress damage, adjust the serum levels of ET-1 and NO, and improve the clinical efficacy.

Abstract Objective: Obesity is a significant risk factor for metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular disorders. As a well-known Chinese tea product, Besunyen Slimming Tea (BST) is believed to effectively reduce body weight (BW) and lipid profile. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the mechanisms and effects of BST on treating obesity and hepatic steatosis using a rat model fed with a high-fat diet (HFD).
Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to random separation into three categories: Animals were fed (1) a normal diet food (ND); (2) HFD, and (3) HFD
    Results: HFD
Conclusions: The results of this study offer evidence supporting the potential health benefits of BST in the management of metabolic disorders and obesity.

Abstract Since the 1980s, China's oyster aquaculture has grown quickly in the past four decades, and it became the top mariculture species in China with an annual production of 5.23 million in 2019. Understanding the growth of oyster aquaculture in China is important to gain insights into successful long-term production. This paper attempts to decompose China's oyster aquaculture between trends and cycles by means of an HP filter, make a specific identification of the relevant factors according to the Cobb-Douglas production function, to summarize the objective law of yield fluctuations. Results suggest that from 1985 to 2011, China's oyster aquaculture experienced a development stage of "rapid rise - steady development". At this stage, it shows a slow growth trend, and the growth can persist for long periods of time. The improvement of consumption level driven by economic growth is the main facilitating factor to promote the oyster industry, export trade and oyster price are also critical, diseases and disasters did not exert much influence on the growth of China's oyster aquaculture. The biggest problem hindering sustainable development is the tragedy of the commons caused by the limitation of marine resources, the contradiction of development will become a thorny issue.
