Abstract In conventional ceramic-metal matrix composites, with the addition of the ceramic phase, although it can significantly improve the performance of the material in one aspect, it tends to weaken some of the excellent properties of the metal matrix as well. In order to meet the high toughness and high strength requirements of composites for practical production applications, researchers have searched for possible reinforcing structures from nature. They found that fractal structures, which are widely found in nature, have the potential to improve the mechanical properties of materials. However, it is often not feasible to manufacture these geometric structures using conventional processes. In this study, alumina ceramic fractal structures were prepared by 3D printing technology, and aluminum composites containing fractal ceramic structures were fabricated by spark plasma sintering technology. We have studied the effect of the fractal structure of alumina ceramics on the mechanical properties of composites. The compression strength of samples was measured by a universal testing machine and the torsional properties of samples were measured by a torsional modulus meter. The results show that a fractal structure improves the compressive strength of aluminum/alumina ceramic composites by 10.97% and the torsional properties by 17.45%. The results of the study will provide a new method for improving the mechanical properties of materials.

Abstract In recent years, artificial neural networks have been widely used in the fault diagnosis of rolling bearings. To realize real-time diagnosis with high accuracy of the fault of a rolling bearing, in this paper, a bearing fault diagnosis model was designed based on the combination of VMD and ANN, which ensures a higher fault prediction accuracy with less computational time. This paper works from two aspects, including fault feature extraction and neural network structural parameter optimization to obtain an ANN bearing fault diagnosis model with high performance. The raw vibration signals of 10 fault types were divided into training, verification and testing datasets by the random step increment slip method. The variational mode decomposition method was used to decompose the raw vibration signal into several intrinsic mode functions. A new definition of the energy of each intrinsic mode function based on discrete Fourier transform and information entropy method were used as the input for the artificial neural network. Furthermore, the structural parameters of the artificial neural network were designed to obtain a high-performance neural network. The artificial neural network used in this paper had three hidden layers and 13 neurons in each hidden layer. Compared with several machine and deep learning algorithms, the artificial neural network can better fulfill the classification task of rolling bearing fault types with a mean prediction accuracy of 99.3% and computation time of 2.4 s based on a small training dataset.

Abstract Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a high incidence, and current treatments are ineffective. We aimed to explore potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for HCC by conducting bioinformatics analysis on genomic and proteomic data.
Methods: Genome and proteome data were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and ProteomeXchange databases, respectively. Differentially expressed genes was determined using limma package. Functional enrichment analysis was conducted by Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery (DAVID). Protein-protein analysis was established by STRING dataset. Using Cytoscope for network visualization and CytoHubba for hub gene identification. The gene mRNA and protein levels were validated using GEPIA and HPA, as well as RT-qPCR and Western blot.
Results: A total of 127 up-regulated and 80 down-regulated common DEGPs were identified between the genomic and proteomic data, Mining 10 key genes/proteins(ACLY, ACACB, EPRS, CAD, HSPA4, ACACA, MTHFD1, DMGDH, ALDH2, and GLDC) through protein interaction networks. in addition, Glutamyl-prolyl-tRNA synthetase (EPRS) was highlighted as an HCC biomarker that is negatively correlated with survival. Differential EPRS expression analysis in HCC and paracancerous tissues showed that EPRS expression was elevated in HCC. RT-qPCR and Western blot analysis results showed that EPRS expression was upregulated in HCC cells.
Conclusions: Our results suggest that EPRS is a potential therapeutic target for inhibiting HCC tumorigenesis and progression.

Abstract The development of agriculture faces uncertainties due to global climate variability and the scarcity of agricultural resources. Enhancing agricultural development resilience is essential for improving agriculture's adaptability to the external environment and ensuring food security. It is imperative to prevent and control agricultural pollution as it worsens. Thus, enhancing the resilience of agricultural development requires balancing food security and ecological security. The present study constructs an evaluation system for agricultural development resilience in China with three levels: resistance, resilience, and reengineering ability. The agricultural development resilience of China's main grain-producing areas is evaluated using the entropy method, and regional differences are analyzed using kernel density estimation and the Theil index. The obstacle model was used to identify and analyze the obstacles that affect agricultural development's resilience to propose countermeasures. The results showed that (1) agricultural development resilience in China's main grain-producing areas has steadily increased from 0.317 to 0.427. The resilience of agrarian development in Heilongjiang, Shandong, and Henan provinces ranges from 0.473 to 0.575, which is far higher than the mean development level; (2) Regional differences in the main grain-producing areas are narrowing from 0.077 to 0.023; (3) The main grain-producing areas share common obstacle factors, emphasizing the critical role of technological innovation, investment, and machine-cultivated land resources in enhancing agricultural resilience against external risks. Paying attention to the amount of fertilizer usage is crucial to achieving ecological security goals.
